Chapter 1740: The Hidden Card That Collapsed

With a single sword strike, a thunderous sound bellowed following the dazzling three-colored Sword Qi that was sent towards Zhu Tong.

The Sword Force of the strike was incredible as vast Sword Force shot towards the sky like an erupting volcano.

Su Mo’s Sword Qi however, remained strong and sturdy. After destroying the flaming long snake, the power of it was greatly cut but it continued on its path towards Zhu Tong.

“Not good!”

Zhu Tong instantly turned pale with fright. However, he had no time to attack nor dodge the Sword Qi already.

With another explosion, the Sword Qi heavily struck Zhu Tong’s body and instantly exploded.

Zhu Tong’s body was instantly flung out over the firmament.

A fresh stream of blood spurted from his mouth and he fell to the ground, evidently having suffered an injury.

This blood instantly formed a ball and entered the longspear in his hand. In the blink of an eye, Zhu Tong’s longspear radiated blinding blood-red rays of light that were filled with a deadly aura. It was as though it had turned into an ancient beast that was ready to pounce on its prey.

At the same time, Zhu Tong’s face turned as pale as a sheet and the aura around his body dipped significantly.

“Kill!” Zhu Tong yelled out madly as he pierced with his spear. Blinding. blood-red light was like a ray of light from the nine heavens as it shot towards Su Mo at an incredibly fast speed.

This strike encompassed forces out of the limits of what was naturally possible. It was far stronger than Zhu Tong’s previous attack as it sped through the sky at the speed of lightning.

A streak of red light followed the blood-colored spear and, in an instant, it had travelled a kilometer to arrive right before Su Mo’s head.

Everyone’s hearts beat out of their chests in the face of this blow. Zhu Tong did not admit defeat and actually had a strong hidden card he had yet to play.

Su Mo was in danger now!

However, a minority, including the Third Prince, also held a solemn expression on their faces.

That was because after Zhu Tong used this blow, he wouldn’t have any hope of being selected.

He was aware that Zhu Tong’s hidden card was a strong secret art passed down from ancient times.

Yet, although the secret art was strong, the price that one had to pay for using it was also immense.

Hence, after this one blow, even if Zhu Tong defeated Su Mo, his powers would drop significantly and he would be defeated by someone else. By then, he wouldn’t have a chance of being selected.

At that point, the blood-red spear was already above his head and it instantly collided against the stone sword.

The sound of a sharp sword tearing meat apart echoed through the sky and the massive blood-colored Spear Radiance was torn apart instantly as the residual radiance rained down harmlessly from Su Mo’s sides.

The greyish white chaotic Sword Qi sliced apart the blood-red Spear Radiance as it swept forward towards Zhu Tong with terrifying force.

“What?” Zhu Tong’s heart leapt in fear as he had not expected that his ultimate blow would be blocked by Su Mo!

How could this be?

It was definitely not possible!

Zhu Tong’s heart pumped wildly against his chest in disbelief. By now, the immense Sword Qi was about to hit him and he would be heavily injured by it.

Zhu Tong could only desperately try to dodge the attack.

“Not good!”

The group of elders observing the scene exclaimed in shock as they realized that Zhu Tong could be killed by the blow.

Just as the group of elders were about to step forward to help Zhu Tong, the scene changed. Perhaps Zhu Tong was lucky, because right before the Sword Qi was about to hit him, it suddenly self-destructed.

As the greyish white Sword Qi erupted, a white mushroom cloud formed from its explosion. The explosion shook the skies and a huge shockwave swept out in all directions.

Zhu Tong screamed weakly as his body was flung backward by the shock wave, like a bag of potatoes, out of the platform. Blood spurted out of his mouth unstoppably.
