Chapter 1734: Improvement

Time flew by continuously and Su Mo sat down-cross legged in the cultivation room without moving, as though he were a monk that was meditating.

Yet, Dark Forces in his body were crashing over each other like a fierce river.

His cultivation rank was at the peak of the Rank 6 Martial Honorable Realm and the 5 Divine Elixirs that had gathered the Qi in his body had thick Dark Force circulating in it.

If one were to judge how thick the Dark Force in his body was, it would be much thicker than what any Rank 8 Martial Honorable could achieve.

Time flew by quickly and in the blink of an eye, 5 months had passed.

On that day, stepping sounds echoed into the cultivation room from outside the palace.

“Su Mo!”

Gu Tianyi stood outside the palace and yelled loudly. He knew that Su Mo was in seclusion but he had to call Su Mo out.

Seeing no sign of movement from the palace, Gu Tianyi chuckled and walked in front of the cultivation room door.

The cultivation room’s isolated aura and the sound from the room meant Su Mo couldn’t possibly have heard his shout.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Gu Tianyi softly knocked the stone door of the cultivation room, causing knocking sounds to echo through it.

Su Mo slowly opened his eyes in the cultivation room. He knew that Gu Tianyi had come as outsiders wouldn’t have knocked his door.

He sighed deeply in his heart. He had managed to stabilize his cultivation and strengthened his foundation. However, he was still a far cry from breaking through to the Rank 7 Martial Honorable Realm.

This was too slow and he was wasting more and more time. It would be hard for him to break through to the Rank 8 Martial Honorable Realm for the Sky Dragon Contest.

With that, Su Mo rose and opened the doors of his cultivation room.

“Brother Su, good news. Royal Father has come out of seclusion and the selection for the Sky Dragon Contest will be conducted 3 days later!” Gu Tianyi immediately informed Su Mo the moment he saw him.

“Oh, is that so?” Su Mo’s eyes brightened in excitement. It was finally going to begin.

“Mm! Royal Father has ordered men to spread the news throughout the Imperial Ancestor Court Faction. Everyone who wants to be shortlisted for the Sky Dragon Contest is invited to register at the Saint Royal City!” Gu Tianyi smiled.

“They still must register?” Su Mo asked.

“It will be conducted in the Great Yin-Yang Palace of the Saint Royal Palace three days later. I will bring men to escort you!” Gu Tianyi said.

“Mm, thank you Brother Gu!” Su Mo cupped his fists towards Gu Tianyi.

“It is nothing Brother Su. But you need to raise your cultivation rank as much as you can. It is too low!” Gu Tianyi persuaded. Su Mo’s cultivation was the same rank as his and it was too low for the Sky Dragon Contest.

Gu Tianyi wasn’t intending to attend the Sky Dragon Contest and he would not compete to be shortlisted for it either. After all, he was clear of his own strength and his power. Although he was on par with an average Rank 7 Martial Honorable, he was not strong enough.

“I will!” Su Mo nodded his head.

“Mm, I hope you can perform a miracle!” Gu Tianyi patted Su Mo’s shoulder. If it was anyone else, it would be impossible for them to be selected for the Sky Dragon Contest with a Rank 6 Martial Honorable Realm strength.

However, Su mo was different and Gu Tianyi believed that his chances of being selected were good.

Yet, he would only know if he was right when the event actually played out.

A few moments later, Gu Tianyi left the palace and Su Mo returned to the cultivation room.

He fell silent and with a mental thought, he entered the Bangle Space.

“I wonder if there are new purple-gold insects?” Su Mo wondered as he walked into the Demon Head Mountain.

Once he was inside the wide space of the Ancient Demon’s Brain, his eyes scanned around and he immediately brightened in glee. That was because the number of purple-gold insects had actually increased to 5 more, making a total of 21 of them.

The 21 purple-gold insects, together with the silver insects ,could form a large sword whose power would be incredible. It would surpass the strength of his Upper Honorable Stone Sword.

If there were more purple-gold insects, the sword that they formed could be comparable to a Lower Sacred Weapon.

“Not bad!” Su Mo’s heart leaped with joy. As expected, these Dark Devouring Insects’ increase in power had quickened. Even the number of silver insects was much higher than it had been previously.

Buzz buzz~~

A purple-gold insect slowly flew towards Su Mo and flew in a circle around him.

This purple-gold insect was the King of the Bugs that Su Mo had refined.

Su Mo slowly raised his palm and the King of the Bugs landed on his hand.

“I wonder if you will be able to turn pure gold in color?” As he stared at the King of the Bugs in his hand, Su Mo smiled.

Buzz buzz~~

As though it could understand Su Mo’s words, it started to buzz.

“Hm?” Su Mo was shocked. Although he could not understand what the King of the Bugs was communicating to him, he could clearly feel the hope and desire of the insect to evolve.

“Then I will let you all devour more Ancient Demon’s Medulla!” Su Mo softly exclaimed. Although there was a lot of Ancient Demon’s Medulla, Su Mo did not hastily use all of them by feeding it to the insects.

Buzz buzz~~

The King of the Bugs seemed to understand Su Mo’s intentions and immediately buzzed out for a sound wave to sweep through the room.

In an instant, the mass of insects on the Ancient Demon’s Brain started to flap their wings rapidly as they left the Ancient Demon’s Brain.

The King of the Bugs also flew off from Su Mo’s palm and rested at one side as it prepared to devour the Ancient Demon’s Medulla.

Shoosh!

The stone sword appeared in Su Mo’s hand as he immediately struck out to cause a massive Sword Qi to fly out and collide heavily against the Ancient Demon’s Medulla.

Crack crack!

The entire Demon Head Mountain jerked suddenly and the Ancient Demon’s Brain was suddenly sliced apart. A large, endless crack appeared on the Brain and the mucus-like medulla flowed out from it.

Buzz buzz buzz~~

In an instant, numerous insects swarmed through the air and desperately devoured the medulla.

These insects didn’t have the ability to break the defensive layer around the Ancient Demon’s Brain and they only used their sharp mandibles to pierce the brain and slowly suck up a tiny portion of medulla.

Yet, at that point, the sparkling and translucent medulla was right before their eyes and the insects couldn’t help going slightly crazy at the sight of it.

“It is becoming smaller and smaller!” Su Mo looked at the massive Ancient Demon’s Brain and sighed heavily.

He realized that there wasn’t a lot of medulla left in the Ancient Demon’s Brain. If he repeated his actions that day a few more times, the Ancient Demon’s Medulla would be sucked dry.

However, Su Mo did not require a lot of medulla for his own personal use. There was no harm in allowing the insects to devour it as he had left a small portion for himself.

A few moments later, Su Mo walked out of the Demon Head Mountain and arrived in front of a small tree.

This small tree did not appear to be thick, but it was very long and tall. At a hundred meters tall, it frightened those who saw it.

It was the Blood Heart Fruit Tree and previously when Su Mo had given the Ancient Demon’s Heart to Myriad World Mountain, he had stored the Blood Heart Fruit Tree in the Bangle Space.

“It is beginning to rot!”

Su Mo stared at the Blood Heart Fruit Tree and sighed inwardly. The leaves of the tree were starting to turn yellow and a deathly aura shrouded the tree.

“It seems that this tree cannot leave the Ancient Demon’s Heart. I wonder if regular blood force or the heart of a martial artist will prolong its life.” Su Mo muttred to himself and he decided that he would use his enemy’s body to test out his theory the next time he killed one.

If that was possible, he could move the Blood Heart Fruit Tree to the Firmament World and it would be a valuable treasure there.

With that, Su Mo left the Bangle Space and returned back to the cultivation room.

He continued to cultivate in the Bangle Space as he waited for the selection contest which would be happening three days later.
