Chapter 1701: Rank 5 Martial Honorable

Inside the cave dwelling, Su Mo had his eyes shut and was currently cultivating.

Not long later, the messaging charm on his body vibrated softly, indicating that Qing Ya had sent him a message.

Su Mo quickly took out the messaging charm and used his mental strength to decipher the contents of it. Qing Ya’s voice rang through his head.

“Palace Master, where are you?” A hint of excitement played in Qing Ya’s clear voice. She was extremely glad that Su Mo had arrived at the Trinity Star.

“I am at the bottom of the lake below Sky City!” Su Mo informed Qing Ya.

“How about I come and find you? Tell me your exact location!” Qing Ya replied.

Su Mo thought for a while before he answered, “It is alright, you don’t have to come. I am very safe here and am prepared to close myself in cultivation. I will come out once I break through to the Rank 5 Martial Honorable Realm!”

Su Mo did not ask Qing Ya to find him as there wasn’t anything going on and he didn’t want to make her waste a trip over.

“Oh, alright then! Palace Master, tell me once you have broken through!” Qing Ya exclaimed.

“Okay!”

Once their conversation was over, Su Mo closed his eyes and returned to cultivation.

“My control is too weak!” Su Mo shook his head disappointedly. He had realized that his mental strength had not recovered to its prime after his contest against Wu Fengtian previously. As such, his control over his Dark Force was much weaker than normal.

In the mental strength contest previously, not only had his mental strength been sapped dry, his mind was also slightly injured.

As such, this proved to be a great obstacle for him to break through to the Rank 5 Martial Honorable Realm. Breaking past a bottleneck was a tough matter. His mind, Qi and Soul must all be at their prime for him to succeed.

“Perhaps I will devour some Ancient Demon’s Brain medulla!” A light-bulb lit up in Su Mo’s head.

Under normal circumstances, letting one’s mental strength recover to its peak was a very slow process. But the medulla of the Ancient Demon could enhance his mental strength.

Although he could not increase his mental strength capacity after the large-scale devouring previously, his mental strength was not at its peak now and the medulla could be of use for his recovery.

The Ancient Demon’s Brain was as it was always. Numerous insects surrounded the Ancient Demon’s Brain.

As his eyes scanned through the numerous insects, Su Mo’s eyes narrowed. He discovered that there was another purple-gold insect on the brain and there was a total of 16 of them now.

Logically speaking, if they could evolve so quickly, the number of purple-gold insects would be far greater than 10.

“It must be because they ate the Ancient Demon’s medulla!” Su Mo guessed. He remembered that a few insects had sucked up the remains of the Ancient Demon’s medulla when he had retrieved it previously.

Aside from this reason, Su Mo could not think of anything else that would allow the insects to evolve so quickly.

However, Su Mo did not worry much about it and he retrieved his stone sword and struck out once heavily at the brain.

His powers now were much higher than they had been previously and the insects were no longer a concern for him.

An explosion sounded as the sharp Sword Qi struck against the Ancient Demon’s Brain, causing scars to appear on it. Many insects died under the strike of this sword

With that, Su Mo shot through towards the Ancient Demon’s Brain and lifted his hand to retrieve the medulla inside the crack mark on the brain

The mass of insects flew instantly towards Su Mo. Once again, the purple-gold insects and the silver insects amassed into a large sword and pierced through the air as they attacked Su Mo.

Dark Force surged within Su Mo as a protective array covered him. Thereafter, he swiftly struck down his arm and a massive Sword Qi appeared to attack to the insects.

With an explosion, Su Mo’s sword struck against the insect sword and immediately caused it to crumble apart. Some insects were stunned by his attack and they temporarily remained stationary as though they were dizzy.

“Its strength has increased!” Su Mo exclaimed in surprise. He could clearly feel that the insect sword was slightly stronger than it had been previously.

However, Su Mo understood the reason why quickly. Its strength had increased due to the addition of 1 more purple-gold insect.

This sword comprised more than 1000 insects… if all of them were purple-gold insects, what would its power be?

Yet, Su Mo did not concern himself over it and he arrived before the Ancient Demon’s Brain again, disregarding the black and silver insects’ attacks as he retrieved the medulla.

The purple-colored Ancient Demon’s Medulla was like mucus and it also glowed brightly with a soft light.

Very quickly, Su Mo took a mass of medulla that was enough to fill a large bucket and he put it in the Dark Force on his hand.

He didn’t rush to leave immediately but closed up the sword-crack on the Ancient Demon’s Brain.

If he didn’t do so, the medulla of the brain would be eaten by the insects and once the regular insects turned into the purple-gold insects, he would be in trouble

Su Mo did not directly kill all the insects as he found that they were strange and mysterious. There was no harm keeping all of them inside the Demon Head Mountain for now.

With that, Su Mo quickly walked out of the Demon Head Mountain and sat down crossed-legged in the cave. He took out the medulla that he had retrieved and placed them in some bottles that he had with him.

These bottles were storage for medicine and elixirs and none of them were big. Su Mo filled about 50 bottles with the medulla he had with him.

Then he gulped down one bottle. The medulla that entered his body turned into a warm rush of energy that eventually entered his brain.

“It is really effective!” Su Mo’s eyes sparkled. He could feel his mental strength quickly recovering.

After half an hour and 3 bottles of medulla being gulped down. Su Mo’s mental strength finally recovered to its peak.

Then, he began to break through to the next realm. This time, he could feel that it was much easier.

The recovery of his mental strength to its peak also increased his control of his Qi. After a large mass of Spiritual Crystals has been used 2 days later, Su Mo finally reached the Rank 5 Martial Honorable Realm.

A vast aura filed the entire Jade Bangle Space as Dark Force within Su Mo’s body surged actively. The Divine Elixirs in Su Mo’s body glowed brightly as the Dark Force inside his body turned into a thick layer.

“Reach the peak of the Rank 5 Martial Honorable Realm in one shot!”

Su Mo retrieved a large mass of Spiritual Crystals and began to devour it. Everything proceeded smoothly and once he had devoured all the Spiritual Qi, he successfully reached peak of the Rank 5 Martial Honorable Realm.

At that point, Su Mo decided not to cultivate further as he stabilized the Qi in him.

With his current cultivation speed, he would need to stabilize the Dark Force in him for around 4 more months before he could break through to the next realm.

Su Mo sent a message to Qing Ya and informed her that he was out of his cultivation seclusion already.
