Chapter 1695: Infuriated
Under the Devouring Fighting Soul, about 80% of the buildings were sucked up and off the entire city.
The ground was torn apart as more than half of the city walls had disappeared. All the 80,000 Sorcerer Tribesmen had disappeared and not a single soul was left.
In other words, the entire city had been reduced to flat ground in a mere 3 breaths of time.
Su Mo’s face remained cold in the high sky. If he was still in Firmament World, he might have a bit of kindness left in him. However, any thread of kindness had been stored in the dark pit of his heart.
A few moments later, sparkles of light appeared in the devouring soul as it suddenly spewed out a large number of weapons and treasures.
These items included longswords, sharp spears and various forms of weapons. There was also a large number of storage rings and different kinds of strange treasures.
Su Mo had good control of his own Fighting Soul and he didn’t refine the items that were useful to him.
He had used the Devouring Fighting Soul to refine the Sorcerer Tribesmen and the numerous buildings that been devoured.
Cling clang cling!
All the items that he had devoured were thrown on the ground and they quickly amassed to a thousand-foot tall small hill that looked incredibly shocking.
“These items should be enough for the Firmament Palace to use for a year!” Su Mo smiled softly. There were less than 100,000 people in the Firmament Palace where a large number of them were low ranked martial artists. The pool of resources from the city should be enough for them to use for more than a year.
Granted, if they used it sparingly, the resources could last them for 2 to 3 years.
However, in Su Mo’s current position, there was no need for them to save up the resources.
Instead, it was best for the Firmament Palace to consume the resources as fast as possible. This would mean that the strength of the Firmament Palace would increase rapidly.
With that thought, Su Mo released his spiritual senses to envelop the mountain of resources he’d got before he stored them in his storage ring.
His body jerked and he immediately left his spot as he headed for his next destination.
Around 150 kilometers away, Su Mo found a regular-sized Sorcerer Tribe town that had a small population of about 10,000 people.
At first, Su Mo did not have any intention to devour the small town but he quickly found something strange about it that piqued his interest.

The small town was shrouded by a deathly aura that was highly dark and sinister.
Su Mo was curious and he immediately released his spiritual senses to find the strange point of the city.
The Sorcerer Tribesmen of the small town were currently refining departed souls.
Many people gathered at a thousand-foot wide ground in the middle of the town.
A large mass of corpses was in the middle of the grounds and these corpses belonged to martial artists of the human race.
A large number of Sorcerer Tribesmen had constructed an array that covered all the corpses of the martial artists. Bright green light burned in a furnace created by the array, burning the corpses.
The flesh and blood of the martial artists’ corpses rapidly burned in the furnace of the array. Finally, all that was left was white bones and the corpses became skeleton warriors.
These Sorcerer Tribesmen were indeed refining departed souls but they weren’t doing it for themselves.
The average Sorcerer Tribesmen in the Sorcerer Tribe could not learn the forbidden Sorcerer arts and they could not have the Honorable Soul Banner. However, they could enhance that for the experts of the Sorcerer Tribe.
Strong Sorcerer Tribesmen or those with a high status would appoint their subordinates and other Tribesmen to gather departed souls for them. Thereafter they would further refine the departed souls and use them for the Honorable Soul banner.
“Damn it!”
Su Mo cursed out loud in anger. These Sorcerer Tribesmen must have killed many humans.
He knew that the refinement of departed souls and the retrieving of Fighting and Martial Souls would be done on humans and not fellow Sorcerer Tribesmen.
Shoosh!
Without hesitation, Su Mo flew up into the air above the grounds in the city and released his Devouring Fighting Soul.
“Devour!” With a yell, he activated the Devouring Fighting Soul.
A few moments later, Su Mo left the town. Everything in the town had disappeared and all that was left was a flat land.
Su Mo lowered himself into an isolated forest.
With a mental thought, bright light flashed in front of him and the 76 Red Dragon Camp troops appeared.
“Squadron Leader, isn’t this the Heavenly Sorcerer Star?” Heng Fei asked nervously as his pupil quivered when he looked at Su Mo.
Previously, Su Mo had told them that they would come to the Heavenly Sorcerer Star and kill some Sorcerer Tribesmen as revenge.
“That’s right, I will now give all of you a mission!” Su Mo nodded his head and scanned the crowd.

“Squadron Leader please tell us the details!”
Ge Li, Wang Xi and the other squad leader yelled out.
“Mm!”
Su Mo lightly acknowledged before he said in a deep voice, “There are 3 small cities around this isolated forested. I order all of you to massacre these small cities at the fastest possible speed you can and take all their resources!”
Su Mo’s voice rang out loudly and clearly in the crowds ears. He had already used his spiritual senses to check the area and he found the 3 small cities in the vicinity.
There were more than 10,000 people in each city and there was no strong expert. There was only 1 city that had 2 Rank 1 Martial Honorables.
“Huh~~~!”
Many mouths hung agape in shock as soon as they heard Su Mo’s words. Blank looks crossed their faces.
Massacre a city?
And massacre 3 cities in one shot?
Everyone was utterly stunned by Su Mo’s words. Su Mo had mentioned to them when they were in the starry sky previously that they were to carry out an earthshaking plot that would allow them to earn their fill of resources.
Back then, they were curious about what plot Su Mo was planning, but Su Mo did not elaborate further.
Now that they had heard his words, how could they not be surprised?
“Squadron Leader, this… isn’t this too much?” Heng Fei swallowed some saliva and hesitantly asked.
More than 10,000 people would be killed if they massacred 3 small cities in one shot. Heng Fei felt that this was too cruel.
“Not at all!”
Su Mo shook his head and continued in a deep voice, “Once you massacre these small cities, all the spoils you obtained will be yours. I will also give you additional rewards.”
“Squadron Leader, isn’t this too cruel?” Squad Leader Ge Li voiced his thoughts. Everyone also felt the same way. Although they were all seasoned army troops, they had not ever conducted a massacre before.
“Cruel?”
Su Mo laughed coldly and shook his head, “Did the Sorcerer Tribesmen ever think of how cruel they were when they killed others? When they used the Souls of the Dead Skill in the Dark Iron Mine on us, did they show mercy? Those skeleton warriors are also made up of human souls, did they think of how ruthless they were when they refined the souls?”
As emotions gushed up his heart, Su Mo continued, “The Sorcerer Tribe controls a large number of small worlds. Those small worlds are like sheep that the Sorcerer Tribe keeps. They are destined to be the resources of the Sorcerer Tribe as their Fighting Souls are refined into departed souls. Will the Sorcerer Tribe think of mercy then?”
“That is why we must be cruel against the Sorcerer Tribesmen and not leave any room for mercy!”
With that, his eyes shot out like lasers as he stared at every single troop before him.
In actual fact, he did not need the help of these people to kill the Sorcerer Tribesmen. Even their combined strength was not faster than he could be alone.
He only wanted to test these troops and build their loyalty to him. That was because he intended to let these people join the Firmament Palace in the future.
All the troops were stunned by Su Mo’s words. Was the Sorcerer Tribe really that cruel? If that was really the case, then this was infuriating!
Controlling a large number of small worlds and regarding everyone in these small worlds as their resources!
Frightening!
“I come from a small world myself and my small world has already been destroyed by the Sorcerer Tribe!” Su Mo sighed out before he briefly explained the Firmament World’s situation to the troops.
Everyone was speechless as they had never imagined that their Squadron Leader would bear such a deep hatred with the Sorcerer Tribe.
“Alright, if you don’t want to do this mission, you can leave straight away. I will not hold you back!”
As he stared at the crowd again, Su Mo continued in a louder voice, “If you are willing to follow me, then accept the order and don’t blame me for being ruthless!”
A cold breeze passed through the crowds hearts. Was the Squadron Leader angry?
“Squadron Leader, we will set off immediately!” Everyone spoke out loud in unison. Since the Sorcerer Tribe were merciless against the human race, then they will massacre them!
“Good!”
Su Mo nodded his head in satisfaction before he waved his hand casually and said, “Let’s meet back here in 30 minutes!”
“Understood!” The troops replied before they formed smaller groups and headed off to the small cities.
Su Mo sighed a light breath before he also left the forest. There were 2 other cities around 500-600 kilometers away from where he was.
He had chosen tiny cities for his targets as, if he targeted the big ones, he might be in trouble if there was a strong martial artist there.

The Stars Have Eyes
The universe was a vast, empty, dark, and uncaring place. Then life happened, and the universe was changed forever. Only a teeny-tiny bit, but definitely different. Then again, the universe changes a teeny-tiny bit every second of every day. For instance, if someone were to get off the couch and randomly drink a glass of milk? Bam! One less glass of milk in the universe. Changed forever. Well, excluding any time-travel shenanigans, but anyone who puts a big old hole in the time-space continuum just to un-drink a glass of milk should really reevaluate their priorities. Unless, of course, they were attempting to prevent some massive catastrophe vis-a-vis said glass of milk. Such a scenario is by no means impossible, as one should never underestimate the importance of calcium. Another important tip for any life forms out there is to keep things in perspective. Some look at the vastness of creation in relation to themselves and go, ‘Man, this sucks!’ These people really need to narrow their focus. Sure, they will never affect anything happening on the other end of the galaxy, but so what? That’s way the heck over there, where it doesn’t matter. Therefore, in order to maintain a healthy mindset, it is important to narrow one’s perspective to the things and people that affect them, and that they can affect in turn. But what happens if one is an unfathomable cosmic being from beyond the veil of reality? What happens when such an existence is capable of influencing entire swathes of the universe just by its presence? A creature such as Magh'rathlak the Observer? That particular entity is only about average as far as reality-warping creatures from the dawn of time go, so its influence over the fabric of reality is rather limited. And it still struggles to keep things in perspective. That, among other things, is why it decided to narrow its worldview a bit by compressing the maddening vastness of its being into a single corporeal form. Magh'rathlak had never tried such a feat, but that wasn't about to stop it. After all, how hard could being human possibly be?
