Chapter 1672: Out To War

“All right!” Su Mo nodded and fixed his gaze on Gu Tianyi. He knew that there would be a reason for Gu Tianyi to visit him.

Gu Tianyi pondered for a while and then he said with a smile, “Su Mo, some time ago, the cities in the Holy Dynasty paid their tributes to us and I received some nice items. I have brought some for you!”

When Su Mo heard that, he was stunned. He immediately shook his head and said, “Brother Gu, these are your treasures. I cannot accept them!”

Su Mo did not do anything to deserve a reward. He merely embarrassed the First Prince at the banquet and that could not be considered a boon.

“Hohoho, Su Mo, you do not have to stand on ceremony with me. Although these tributes are valuable, there are not treasures!” Gu Tianyi said with a smile. He then turned his palm over and a storage ring appeared. He passed it to Su Mo.

When Su Mo saw the storage ring, he accepted it. Since Gu Tianyi wanted him to have it, it would seem awkward if he refused to accept it.

However, he did not look at it and simply kept it. Since Gu Tianyi had given him a storage ring, the items in it should be the ordinary treasures but Su Mo believed that there should be a large amount of them.

“Su Mo, I shall make a move first and not disturb you further!” Gu Tianyi stood. He had visited Su Mo simply to reward him.

“Brother Gu, please wait a while!” Su Mo called out to Gu Tianyi when he saw that Gu Tianyi was about to leave.

“What is the matter?” Gu Tianyi asked.

Su Mo looked grim and after pondering for a while, he asked, “Brother Gu, I would like to find out something from you!”

“What is it?”

“May I know how many people will the Holy Dynasty be sending out to Sky Dragon Contest? How do you select the participants?” Su Mo asked. That matter was important to him as he wished to take part in Sky Dragon Contest.

“Sky Dragon Contest?”

Gu Tianyi was shocked when he heard it. He had not expected Su Mo to ask him such a question. He then replied in a deep voice, “Our Imperial Ancestor Court will send out five people to Sky Dragon Contest and the participants will be selected by my father!”

“What is the criteria?” Su Mo asked. That was important to him. After all, he did not know the King and, if the King were to appoint the participants, Su Mo would not be included in the list.

“That will be done through a contest. My father will select the five most powerful men to take part in Sky Dragon Contest!”

Gu Tianyi replied. Having said that, he sized Su Mo up and asked in amazement, “Su Mo, are you keen to take part in Sky Dragon Contest?”

“Yes!” Su Mo nodded.

“You have to work hard to bring your cultivation level up if you wish to take part in Sky Dragon Contest. If not, you will not be able to get yourself a place!” Gu Tianyi said with a smile. Although Su Mo’s combat strength was powerful, his cultivation level was only at Rank 3 Martial Honored Realm.

If he wanted to take part in Sky Dragon Contest, he had to bring up his cultivation level as quickly as he could.

“I know!” Su Mo nodded.

“Su Mo, why do you wish to take part in Sky Dragon Contest?” Gu Tianyi asked curiously as light glittered in his eyes.

“Hohoho. This is a grand event among the younger generation in the Ancientspirit Galaxy and I do not want to miss it!” Su Mo replied with a smile. He would not tell Gu Tianyi his real reason for participating.

“That’s true!” Gu Tianyi exclaimed. He then chatted with Su Mo for a while before making a move.

Su Mo then went back to his Cultivation Room and took out the storage ring that Gu Tianyi had given him.

He triggered his thoughts to check the items in it.

There were indeed many items. There were longswords, inner armor, shields, Jade Slips, and Spiritual Crystals.

Su Mo took a quick look at the items.

The longswords, inner armor and shields belonged to the Upper Honorable Weapons and they were valuable.

Upper Honorable Martial Arts Techniques were recorded on the Jade Slips.

As for the Spiritual Crystals, there was quite a hefty sum and they were not the Middle Spiritual Crystals. They were the Upper Spiritual Crystals that were worth 1,000 times more, and there were about 1,000 of them.

“That is nice!” Su Mo smiled. Although those items were not useful to him, they were valuable.

Su Mo then kept the storage ring and started meditating.

This day, the war drum suddenly resounded in Red Dragon Camp to gather the soldiers together. The sound was deep and rich.

The soldiers in Red Dragon Camp were all masters and they gathered at a fast speed. In an instant, 3,000 soldiers from the three platoons had gathered together.

The soldiers from the squadron that Su Mo belonged to had all assembled, including Heng Fei.

The three platoon leaders had assembled together. Ren Tianya was in a silver armor and he had a strong build. He was standing at the forefront.

Together with Ren Tianya were two other platoon leaders. They were young and filled with rich auras.

“These three people…!” Su Mo was in deep thought when he saw the three platoon leaders. He had heard that the three platoon leaders were Rank 9 Martial Honored Realm. All of them were less than 100 years old and they were first-class geniuses.

None of the platoon leaders had gone to the banquet.

There were more geniuses in the Imperial Ancestor Court than those who had attended the banquet.

In that instant, air-rending sounds broke out and a haggard-looking elder in a green robe walked over in the sky. His speed was quick and he was at the drill-ground in an instant.

The elder was none other than the Commander of Red Dragon Camp, Sage-to-be Zhu Yi.

“Greetings, Commander!”

Ren Tianya and the other two platoon leaders greeted Zhu Yi and saluted him.

“Greetings, Commander!” The 3,000 soldiers shouted out loudly in unison.

Sage-to-be Zhu Yi looked grim. He lifted his hand and the 3,000 soldiers immediately went silent.

“Blood Pupil Clan has invaded the Southern Border. The first and second platoons will set off for war with the army of the Holy Dynasty tomorrow morning!” Sage-to-be Zhu Yi said loudly.

“Yes, Commander!”

The 2,000 soldiers of the first and second platoons replied in unison and their voices shook the firmament.

Vast fighting spirit, coupled with immense killing intent, exuded from the soldiers and they shot up to the sky

Light flashed across Su Mo’s eyes and he was taken aback. They were going out to war.

Red Dragon Camp had been guarding over Saint Royal City and there was not much opportunity to go to war.

Su Mo turned his head and looked around. He noticed that the soldiers looked excited. Apparently, they could not wait to go out to war.

“Commander, what is the task for my third platoon?”

The platoon leader of the third platoon cupped his fist and asked Sage-to-be Zhu Yi. He was a skinny youth in white armor.

Sage-to-be Zhu Yi had only mentioned the first and second platoons but he did not mention the third platoon.

“The third platoon shall guard over Red Dragon Camp!” Sage-to-be Zhu Yi said loudly.

When the platoon leader of the third platoon and the soldiers heard what Sage-to-be Zhu Yi had said, they immediately looked depressed.

It would be a great opportunity for them to gain credit if they were sent out to war and they could get some spoils as well. However, they had not been given the opportunity to do so.

“Tomorrow morning, gather at the Southern City. Dismiss!”

Sage-to-be Zhu Yi did not make any further comment. After making the announcement, he commanded the soldiers to be dismissed.
