Chapter 1661: Purposely

Jin Lu scanned the surroundings before his eyes fell upon the Eighth Prince, Gu Tianyi.

“Eighth Prince, I heard that you have many exceptional talents under you. May I challenge them?” Jin Lu cupped his fists towards Gu Tianyi and said in a low voice.

Between the Eighth Prince and the Third Prince, Jin Lu first chose the weaker Gu Tianyi to deal with.

He did not directly request to challenge Gu Tianyi’s supporters, but he asked Gu Tianyi to recommend geniuses for him to challenge.

In this way, he was being open and also showing everyone that the people he challenged next would all be men under Gu Tianyi.

If all of Gu Tianyi’s men were defeated by him, then the Eighth Prince would be humiliated.

Gu Tianyi coldly laughed inwardly as he knew Jin Lu’s intentions. He was just about to reply to Jin Lu when the First Prince cut him short.

“Jin Lu, you are not strong enough to challenge the geniuses under Eighth Prince!” First Prince shook his head as though he was reprimanding Jin Lu.

“First Prince, I know that I am not worthy enough but I want to challenge others to test my abilities. I hope that First Prince will allow this!” Jin Lu requested.

After a moment of silence, the First Prince nodded his head and said, “Alright, you may challenge the geniuses under Eighth Prince and test your abilities.”

“Understood, First Prince!” Jin Lu cupped his fists towards First Prince.

The other geniuses of the 12 superpowers realized at that moment that the powerful Jin Lu was a man under the First Prince, Gu Cangtian.

Right now, the men under Gu Cangtian were trying to challenge the men of Eighth Prince, Gu Tianyi.

Many people realized that the three princes were secretly fighting among themselves. Although it seemed like a simple challenge on the surface, it was actually a competition.

Gu Tianyi saw Gu Cangtian and Jin Lu echoing each other and he scoffed.

He knew what the two were playing at. They were purposely raising his status so that when all his men were defeated, he would be humiliated.

However, Gu Tianyi was unafraid. That was because he had an exceptional talent who was unrivalled in his rank.

Jin Lu could not be considered an unrivalled martial artist. Even Gu Cangtian would not be able to defeat his man.

At that point, Jin Lu looked at Gu Tianyi and said in a low voice, “Eighth Prince, I wonder which talent under you is willing to compete with me?”

Jin Lu seemed like he didn’t bother about the First Prince’s warning and continued to challenge the others purposefully.

Many people were interested, now that the contest was on, Gu Tianyi wouldn’t reject him, right?

Under the gaze of numerous people, Gu Tianyi nodded. Then, his gaze shifted around and he scanned through the men he brought with him, “Whoever among you is willing to challenge Jin Lu, step up!”

“Understood! My prince!” The ten geniuses immediately replied to him simultaneously. They knew that although Gu Tianyi was allowing them to decide among themselves, he was getting them to accept the challenge.

Since Jin Lu had challenged them openly, how could they reject the challenge?

With that, a genius immediately stepped forward.

A mocking glare crossed Jin Lu’s eyes. As he had expected, an interesting show was about to begin and he wasn’t going to disappoint the First Prince.

Everyone at the scene was also interested. This could be the contest between the two princes.

The Second Princess felt helpless but she did not stop the two. She was used to the regular fighting between the three princes in recent years.

Su Mo glanced at Gu Tianyi and the few geniuses that he had brought as he silently hoped that he would not have to act!

Gu Tianyi would probably have quite a lot of exceptional geniuses under him, right?

The young man that stepped forward was handsome and he looked like a young lord. However, his cultivation rank was not low and he was also a Rank 6 Martial Honorable.

“Jin Lu, let me test your strength!” The handsome young man glared at Jin Lu with a fierce face.

At that point, the previous genius who had been on the ground threw the cultivation rank-suppressing jade bangle to the handsome young man.

“Shao Yun, I know that you are strong and hence I won’t hold back. If I end up injuring you, I hope you wont hold a grudge against me!” Jin Lu looked back at the handsome man as he smirked.

He was familiar with the handsome young man, as he was with the other geniuses under the Eighth Prince.

His words were not his politeness to the handsome young man. He was making a justification for his actions later in case he harmed the man.

“Attack!”

The handsome young man, Shao Yun, put on the Jade Bangle and his cultivation was immediately lowered. Thereafter, he pulled out a long whip that was as black as ink. The long whip circled around him like a poisonous snake.

Jin Lu saw Shao Yun’s actions and he immediately laughed as he took a step forward.

With each step he took, the aura around Jin Lu’s body became stronger and stronger and it seemed as though there was no limit to his power.

“I will defeat you in one blow!”

Jin Lu yelled out coldly before he suddenly attacked. Stretching out his palm, he pointed one finger, mirroring a sword that pierced out.

In an instant, light rays shrouded his finger and a short green sword appeared and shot towards Shao Yun.

This sword was incredibly fast with massive shockwaves around it. It was almost as strong as the strike of an average Rank 3 Martial Honorable.

Since the ground they were fighting in was small, the green shortsword instantly appeared before Shao Yun.

“Not good!” Shao Yun’s heart jumped in surprise. Jin Lu’s attack was fast and the power of his attack exceeded what Shao Yun had expected.

In the blink of an eye, Shao Yun desperately retreated backward as his hands waved. The long black whip in his hand heavily struck against the green sword like a stroke of lightning.

Bam!

A loud, hollow boom sounded out as a strong wave of force exploded out. The long whip was instantly sent flying as it stood no chance against the green sword.

Shoosh!

The green sword swept forward towards Shao Yun’s chest at an unbelievable speed. As it pierced him, Shao Yun’s body was thrown backwards to the edges of the ground before he finally slowed down.

Ah!

A chilling scream escaped Shao Yun’s mouth as blood gushed out of his wound, instantly staining the front and back of his body.

Blurgh!

Fresh blood spurted out of Shao Yun’s mouth and stained the jade stone pavement.

The Sword Qi that flew off from the green sword was like separate swords that pierced through and assaulted Shao Yun’s organs.

“You… are too vicious!” Shao Yun cursed out. If was just a trial fight, but Jin Lu had attacked him so fiercely.

“I am sorry but I didn’t expect that you were so weak that you couldn’t even endure a blow!” Jin Lu shrugged his shoulders and grinned menacingly.

Although he apologized with his words, the expression on his face showed that he was completely insincere.

With that, Jin Lu immediately turned towards Gu Tianyi and cupped his fists, “Eighth Prince, I am really sorry but I overestimated Shao Yun’s abilities and attacked him fiercely. I am afraid that I injured him!”

Gu Tianyi’s face darkened. He knew that Jin Lu had purposely been vicious. However, Jin Li had apologized and there was nothing that Gu Tianyi could do.

A slight hint of a smile played across the First Prince’s face. This was just the beginning and a greater show would play out later.

At that point, many people wore dark look on their faces. They were not dumb either and they could naturally see through Jin Lu’s act.

It was obviously the First Prince bullying the Eighth Prince, and they wondered whether the Eighth Prince would be able to overcome his ordeal.
