Chapter 1638: Expelled

Deadly silence crossed the starry sky.

Everyone stared in shock with their eyes wide-open in surprise at the bloodied mess hovering in the air.

The Holy Son of the Taishi Family, Taishi Jue had been killed.

Su Mo was so daring, he did not have any hesitation or mercy when he killed Taishi Jue.

The Taishi Family disciples were shellshocked. The death of the Taishi Jue meant that the Taishi Family would fall from power, unless the Taishi Family appointed another genius to be the Holy Son of the Shenwu Academy.

Su Mo’s face was cold as he retrieved the hundred Natal Spiritual Swords after he killed Taishi Jue.

Without any delay, Su Mo flew straight to Estate Master Du and arrived beside the Estate Master in a second.

“Estate Master, I have sought my revenge!” Su Mo cupped his fists towards Estate Master Du.

The Estate Master sighed a heavy breath. Although this was an outcome that he did not want, he did not interfere.

He was always unbiased in his judgement of matters and hence he did not favour one disciple over the other in any situation.

Su Mo and Taishi Jue had voluntarily battled against each other. No matter which side lost, they could not blame anyone.

However, Su Mo would not be able to remain in Shenwu Academy anymore after he killed Taishi Jue.

This matter would definitely infuriate the Taishi Family who was one among the 13 superpowers of the academy.

As a platform that grew the disciples of the 13 superpowers, Shenwu Academy’s actions and decision in the matter offended the Taishi Family.

If the Taishi Family wanted to kill Su Mo, the academy would not be able to do anything about it.

Hence, Su Mo had to leave the academy if he wanted to live.

“Su Mo, come with me back to the academy!”

Estate Master Du sighed. Then, he threw a glance at Gu Tianyi further behind and said, “Gu Tianyi, come with us too!”

With that, Estate Master Du turned around and returned to Shenwu Academy.

Su Mo immediately followed him.

Gu Tianyi was confused as to why the Estate Master had called him up as well. But he didn’t ponder over it further and followed the two in front.

A short while later, Su Mo and Gu Tianyi followed behind Estate Master Du to leave the starry sky as they slowly disappeared from the onlookers’ sights.

That was because Taishi Jue recently tried to pull him into the Taishi Family faction by doing him many favors. He had originally decided to join the Taishi Family.

In the palace of the tallest mountain, Estate Master Du sat on the main chair in the palace hall while Su Mo and Gu Tianyi sat below.

“Estate Master, what did you find me for?” Su Mo cupped his fists towards the Estate Master and asked. Su Mo was puzzled as he didn’t know why the Estate Master had called for him. Did the Estate Master want to punish him?

If Estate Master Du wanted to punish Su Mo, he wouldn’t have been so well mannered. He could have punished Su Mo in the starry sky when everyone was watching.

“Su Mo, I will have to ask you to leave Shenwu Academy now. From now on, you are no longer a disciple of the academy!” Estate Master Du’s face turned serious.

“What?” Su Mo was shocked as he wore a bewildered look on his face. What did the Estate Master mean?

Didn’t the Estate Master allow him to settle his grudge with Taishi Jue through a battle? Why was he being expelled from the academy now?

“Estate Master, did I break any rules of the academy?” Su Mo asked, utterly confused.

Gu Tianyi was silent beside Su Mo as a light flash of light crossed his eyes. He understood Estate Master Du’s intentions.

“No!” Estate Master Du helplessly shook his head. Although Su Mo’s actions were slightly outrageous, he did not break any rule of the academy.

“Then why…?” Su Mo frowned slightly. Since he didn’t break any rule, why was he being asked to leave the academy?

With a sigh, Estate Master Du explained, “Su Mo, it is no longer safe for you to remain at the academy after what you have done!”

After hearing Estate Master Du’s words, Su Mo immediately came to a realization. Estate Master Du wasn’t chasing him out of the academy. It was for Su Mo’s own safety that he had to leave.

A warm gush filled Su Mo’s heart.

“Estate Master, I am not putting you in a tight spot by killing Taishi Jue right?” Su Mo asked.

“It is fine!” Estate Master Du reassured. Taishi Jue did not trouble him.

As the Shenwu Academy Estate Master, the disciples he was in charge of belonged to all 13 superpowers.

His power was not weaker than any one of the 13 superpowers.

“That’s good!”

Su Mo nodded his head before he fell silent and said, “Understood, I will leave the academy later!”

Su Mo wasn’t too disheartened by the situation. Whether or not he left did not really affect him.

“Mm!”

Estate Master Du lightly acknowledged Su Mo’s answer before he turned towards Gu Tianyi, “Gu Tianyi, Su Mo is a member of your Imperial Ancestor Faction. Do what you think is right!”

Gu Tianyi immediately smiled, “Estate Master, like you said, Su Mo is a member of my faction and I won’t sit by and do nothing about this.”

With that, Gu Tianyi looked at Su Mo and said in a low voice, “Su Mo, since you can no longer stay in Shenwu Academy, then how about you return to the Imperial Ancestor Court with me!”

Gu Tianyi was pleased by the turn of events and he was silently begging Su Mo to accept his proposal. If Su Mo continued to stay in Shenwu Academy, he might be roped in to join other superpowers.

However, Gu Tianyi could arrange for Su Mo to enter the Imperial Ancestor Court now that Su Mo had to leave the academy. Hence, Su Mo would become a true member of the Imperial Ancestor Court.

This wasn’t like previously, where he hid an avatar in the Imperial Ancestor Court.

Su Mo, nodded his head, immediately agreeing to join the Imperial Ancestor Court. This was also what he intended to do.

Firstly, joining the Imperial Ancestor Court would mean that his safety was guaranteed. It would be like a large safety net cast over his head that the Taishi Family people would not dare to breech so openly.

Secondly, Su Mo had to attend the Sky Dragon Contest and he needed the backing of the Imperial Ancestor Court.

However, the one thing that Su Mo was worried about was the Sorcerer Tribe.
