Chapter 1553: Leng Xie’s Power
Yun Youyou looked hesitant. However, since Su Mo had agreed to take one blow from Leng Xie, she had no reason to stop them.
She turned her head to look at Su Mo and sighed. She saw that he looked firm and his eyes were filled with confidence. Su Mo might have possessed some powerful trump cards!
Yun Youyou then darted aside, not far away from them.
When Leng Xie saw that Yun Youyou had moved away, he smiled. With no one to stop him, he would make Su Mo pay the price for not showing any regard for him.
Similarly, Li Hentian broke into a smile. The show was about to start.
“It would be great if Su Mo is killed by the blow!” Li Hentian said within his heart. If that happened, he would not have to get his hands dirty with killing Su Mo.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Tian Lang and the top powers who were on the mountain below quickly flew far away to avoid being implicated.
Su Mo and Leng Xie stood opposite each other in the sky and they were less than 15 meters away from each other.
Swoosh!
In a flash, Su Mo moved back, about 1,600 kilometers away from Leng Xie.
If he was too near to Leng Xie, it would be to his disadvantage. After all, he needed some time to counter the blow.
“Hohoho. No matter how far you run, it will be useless!” When Leng Xie saw Su Mo’s action, he gave him a derisive smile. To him, Su Mo was behaving like a clown.
Having said that, the aura in Leng Xie’s body shot up high and it caused the space around him to collapse.
The ground below him was unable to withstand his majestic aura and it started to crack.
The mountain below him sank and in the twinkle of an eye, it had gone down several thousand feet.
Leng Xie did not use any weapons. Grey Dark Force spurted out from his palms and the Haze Qi dissipated from his palms quickly.

That was right. The Haze Qi dissipated!
The Haze Qi did not gather above his fists but they disappeared into the air quickly.
In the twinkle of an eye, a large stretch of area was filled with an immense Haze Qi.
Su Mo knitted his brows when he felt the Haze Qi lingering in the space around him. He was baffled as to what Leng Xie was trying to do.
The rest of the people, including Yun Youyou, were curious as well. They had no idea what Leng Xie was up to.
At that moment, Leng Xie curled his lips into a cold smile. He then stretched out his hand, with his palm facing Su Mo.
Following that, he grasped his fingers together to form a fist.
When he had done so, an astonishing scene took place. The Haze Qi that was lingering in the area gathered together to form a huge ball and trapped Su Mo within.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The huge ball, which had a diameter of 161 kilometers, shrunk down speedily. It compressed the space within it and loud explosions were heard.
As the Haze Ball continued to shrink, it seemed to look more like a metal ball.
The Haze Ball emitted a strong aura, like tidal waves, and it caused a large stretch of land to quake.
“What?” When all the people saw what had happened, they were dumbfounded. This was the first time that they had seen such a strange attack.
Su Mo could not possibly run away from the attack. He was trapped!
Moreover, the aura from the Haze Ball was horrifying. It was destructive.
Yun Youyou looked tense. She had no idea if Su Mo was able to counter the blow but she had already prepared herself to help him.
In any case, she must not allow Su Mo to die. If he was dead, she would not be able to find out anything about her past.
Leng Xie’s eyes were cold. The blow that he had thrown out was known as the Entrap Heavens Bolt. Although it was not a deadly blow, it was enough to kill Su Mo.

The Entrap Heavens Bolt not only had a great defensive force, it had powerful offensive force. When the Haze Ball had shrunk to its optimum, it would explode and be utterly destroyed.
The person trapped in it would burst into pieces and nothing would be left of him.
Within the Haze Ball.
Su Mo was shocked. Although he was quite well-informed, that was the first time he had come across such a weird form of attack.
He was trapped in the Haze Ball and it was shrinking at high speed. As the Haze Ball shrunk, it became more solid.
The space around him compressed and kept collapsing.
When the diameter of the Haze Ball was less than 15 meters and it was getting closer to his body, Su Mo immediately threw out a blow.
He held the Golden Holy Sword with both hands and activated 16 types of Fighting Souls at one go.
Among the 16 types of Fighting Souls, 15 types were Sword Fighting Souls and one was a Saber Fighting Soul.
There was not much difference between the Saber Fighting Soul and the Sword Fighting Souls. Other than the shape, their nature was about the same and they were as effective.
Su Mo had activated the Saber Fighting Soul, not because he did not have enough Sword Fighting Souls. That particular Saber Fighting Soul that he had activated was more powerful than the Sword Fighting Souls.
After Su Mo had activated the 16 types of Fighting Souls, sharp radiance shot up from his body, making him like a formidable Sword Deity.
At the same time, he activated the Blood Force Physiques in his body and his body became bright.
In order to break out from the Haze Ball, Su Mo had sacrificed a few powerful Fighting Souls and infused them into the Golden Holy Sword.
Bright, three-colored sword radiance shot out from the Golden Holy Sword as a destructive aura gathered around it.
“Wind Thunder Attack!”
Su Mo shouted. He then waved his arms and slashed, hard.
Boom! Boom!
A strong gust of wind whizzed out and there was an explosion. The Golden Holy Sword contained a mighty force and it slashed down against the Haze Ball.
Boom!
When the Golden Holy Sword hit hard against the Haze Ball, there was a loud explosion. It was as though a star had hit the ground, causing a raging power to gush out.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The Haze Ball exploded and turned into air billows, surging all over the place.
“What?”
When all the people saw what had happened, they were thunderstruck, their eyes wide-open.
Su Mo had countered the powerful attack and they found it unbelievable.
“How can this be!” Leng Xie’s face became ghastly pale. He had not expected Su Mo to be so powerful!
Previously, he had heard of Su Mo and knew that he was a gifted genius. However, he did not know his actual combat strength.
When he saw that Su Mo had countered his attack, he was filled with regret. He had not used all his strength for the blow.
He did not activate his unique physique or the power of his Fighting Soul for that particular blow and the power that he had used was less than half his strength.
However, he had mentioned that he would only throw out one blow and he could not possibly take back his word and throw out another blow in front of Yun Youyou and the rest of the people.
When Yun Youyou saw that Su Mo had countered the blow, she secretly heaved a sigh of relief.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The raging Haze Qi surged out all over the place and destroyed the space. It wiped out everything and caused the ground to sink.
Su Mo shot out and stood tall and firm in the sky.
“Leng Xie, I have taken on one blow. What more do you have to say?” Su Mo shouted to Leng Xie as he looked at him from afar. His arms were shaking slightly and there were bloodstains on his body.

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
