Chapter 1451: The One Infatuated With You
Su Mo felt helpless with regards to the rules of the fight meet but he wasn’t too worried about it either. After all, he wasn’t about to participate in it. If the duration of the fight meet was long, then so be it!
“Since this is the case, I will not speak further. Let the fight meet begin!” Elder Yin Ze scanned the area in front of him before waving his robe and announcing.
Shoosh!
The moment Elder Yin Zi spoke, a shadow swept down onto the middle of the massive fighting ground like a lightning bolt.
Since the gigantic battle arena was made of energy from arrays, it caused the martial artists who landed on it to appear feeble and small.
The one who landed on the battle arena first was none other than Lu Gang from the True Path Sect.
The rules of the fight meet obviously invited martial artists to proactively challenge each other. As such, the ones who challenged first had an advantage because they could choose weaker opponents.
Lu Gang had already had such a thought and he was ready to prove to everyone his worth in the fight meet this time. At the same time, he wanted to gain glory for the True Path Sect. Hence, he was the first challenger.
“Name!”
At that moment, an old man beside Saint Yin Ze and who was clad in a brown shirt made a loud demand.
“Lu Gang!” Lu Hang answered loudly. He knew that this old man was in charge of recording the scores of the participants.
With his reply, the brown robed old man nodded his head and wrote Lu Gang’s name down.
Then, Lu Gang scanned the crowd of challengers from the seven superpowers before his eyes stopped in the area where the Black Flame Tribe were.
Glaring at Yan Huo, the battle spirit in Lu Gang’s eyes shot out. However, even though he was agitated, he still gave up on the idea of challenging Yan Huo in the first round.
Lu Gang was clear of Yan Huo’s strength and he knew that they were on par with each other. It wouldn’t be wise of him to challenge Yan Huo in the first round.

His goal was to accumulate points in the fight meet. Hence, he had decided to wait for another opportunity to fight Yan Huo.
Furthermore, he wanted to win a decisive victory for his first challenge in order to let everyone know how strong he was. Therefore, he chose not to challenge Yan Huo.
“You, come down for a challenge!” Lu Gang stared at an unknown Black Flame Tribe young man. As he wasn’t going to challenge Yan Huo, he chose a member of the Black Flame Tribe to challenge as he wasn’t fond of their tribe.
Amongst those present from the seven superpowers, everyone who attended the fight meet were all Rank 9 Martial Emperors. Of course, this excluded the Sage-to-bes elders and the Martial Honourables. Hence, he did not have to think twice and could randomly pick others to challenge.
Shoosh!
The Black Flame Tribe teenager flew down onto the battle arena upon hearing Lu Gang’s words.
“Name?” The brown robed elder in charge of recording the scores asked again.
“Yan Qing!” The Black Flame Tribe teenager announced his name before fixing a hard gaze on Lu Gang. A serious expression was worn on his face and he obviously knew how strong Lu Gang was.
“Hey brat. Weren’t you very arrogant outside the Imperial Pagoda two days before? I will let you know now how wrong you were!”
A cold smirk was plastered across Lu Gang’s face as he taunted the young man. This man was throwing out arrogant remarks previously outside the Imperial Pagoda and he was almost as proud as Yan Huo.
“Humph! Who will win is still uncertain!” The Black Flame Tribe young man scoffed as a flame slowly burned from within his charred body.
This flame was as black as ash and it looked as though it was a devil’s flame. The flame burned at a terrifyingly high temperature, instantly setting ablaze the space around him.
“This is where you lose!”
Lu Gang exerted his dominance with a loud shout and immediately threw a punch forward.
This punch was powerful as the fist radiance pounced forth like a wild beast. Like a rushing river, it carried crushing forces as it rushed through over a kilometer of the area..

“Destroy!” With the fist radiance about to hit him, the young man threw both his fists forward and a large ball of black fire flew towards the fist radiance.
In an instant, the two attacks collided with each other.
Boom!
An explosion occurred that shattered the black flame apart, turning it into streams of black streaks that rained down on the battle arena.
After the fist radiance hit the black flame, its power was greatly reduced but it continued on its path towards the young man.
“Not good!” The young man’s face took a drastic turn as he saw the incoming attack. However, it was too late for him to dodge it.
Within the blink of an eye, he could only defend against it head on as the black flames surrounding his body exploded out to become a fire-red sea of flames.
In the next instant, the fist radiance had entered the sea of flames.
Ah!
A blood-curdling shriek pierced the air as the young man’s body was forced backwards from the collision.
After flying around 10 kilometres, he hit the edge of the battle arena and spurted out a large pool of fresh blood.
“Lu Gang wins!”
At that moment, the brown robed old man announced. Not only was he responsible for keeping records, he was also in charge of the proceedings of the meeting.
Everyone who saw the scene was surprised. It seemed that Lu Gang’s strength was higher than they had imagined!
One strike!
A casual strike that he gave out had managed to defeat his opponent. Such strength was very high and it was possible that Lu Gang might enter the top ten!
Once he had defeated his opponent, Lu Gang’s lips curled into a confident smile.
He scanned his surroundings and saw the look of surprise on most people’s faces. He celebrated inwardly as that outcome was exactly what he had wanted – to defeat his opponent with one strike. This showed the spectators that the True Path Sect disciples weren’t a group to be looked down upon.
“Just like that!” Yan Huo glowered at the triumphant Lu Gang and he scoffed. He did not think highly of Lu Gang as the young man that was defeated was just a regular tribesman of the Black Flame Tribe.
With that display, Lu Gang strode back towards the stands and was complimented by Sage-to-be Zhen Gu.
Afterall, it was the very first challenge and it was the sect’s glory for Lu Gang to manage to beat his opponent in seconds!
The moment Lu Gang sat down, another challenger flew down on the battle arena and the challenges continued. Quickly, the next fight began.
“Elder Feng, how long will this fight meet last?” Su Mo wasn’t bothered with the fight meet but he still asked Feng Guang.
“Probably around 10 days. Maybe even longer!” Feng Guang said, recalling the previous fight meets. They typically lasted slightly longer than ten days.
Su Mo lightly nodded his head, feeling completely helpless inside. He had come with the intention to see Qing Xuan but he didn’t have any chance now to approach her.
Looking at Qing Xuan, Su Mo sighed a heavy breath as he thought that he woudl have to give it a try and see whether Qing Xuan recognised him.
Although her memories had been erased, she might still have a sense of familiarity with him, or maybe even a slight recollection.
Then, Su Mo eyes dazzled brightly and, like an invisible streak of lasers, he stared at Qing Xuan, believing that she would definitely feel his gaze.
On the northern stands, Yun Youyou sat beside Elder Yin Ze, quietly watching the scene on the battle arena.
She was interested in the fight meet as it was a chance for her to get to know the top talents in the seven superpowers.
Seated beside her was a pleasant looking girl wearing a green outfit. The sparkling eyes of this girl were irresistibly charming and her pale pink lips had a natural cupid’s bow.
“Youyou, look over there. There’s someone staring very intently at you!”
The girl was the first to notice Su Mo’s stare and she chuckled towards Yun Youyou, “look at that guy’s fiery hot gaze. He must be infatuated with you!”

Warning: The protagonist begins the story quite cowed and meek but progresses into a more assertive and situationally dominant personality. This is partly due to growth, but also a result of the character overcoming initial shock and longstanding depression. If you think I could have handled a segment better, by all means, point it out and provide your reasoning and suggestion. Everyone's experience of depression is different, and Tim's is a close representation of my own, so it won't necessarily 'vibe' with everyone. Chapters are around 15k words and released approx 1/week over the weekend. Has been reduced to around 7.5k to 9k to better fit my schedule.[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
