Chapter 1280: One vs Two

After Su Mo left Earth Pagoda, he returned to the residence of Wu Chen. Sitting cross-legged in a cultivation room, he continued cultivating.

With regards to Wu Lie and Wu Yu’er, he did not have to worry too much. He was able to kill with a few strokes.

However, when killing the two, he must be careful not to reveal his true identity.

First, he could not use his Natal Spiritual Sword and Grand Firmament Swordplay.

The reason being that, once these tactics were used, they would be instantly recognized by Wu Tian Yu, Wu Chang Yuan, and those who had visited the Firmament World before.

He either had to not use any martial arts skill at all, or use some ordinary skills which he had learned in his early years of training.

Even so, there was no major difficulty in murdering Wu Lie and Wu Yu’er.

As he had cultivated the Heaven Combining Ghost Skill, the cultivation strength of this body had drastically increased by almost three times. Paired with his numerous Martial and Fighting Souls, defeating the couple would be as easy as pie.

Of course, with so many Martial Souls, if there was no need he would try not to use them, lest others who visited the Firmament World recognized them.

There was also the Flaming Devil Ghost Sage. Even if he wanted to use these Martial and Fighting Souls, he had to use them secretly in case others had some knowledge of this after seeing them.

Su Mo continued to cultivate the Heaven Combining Ghost Skill. Without using Spiritual Crystals, he absorbed the Spiritual Qi from the ground to aid in his cultivation.

With regards to completely converting his skills, there was still quite a long way to go. Tentatively, he estimated that it required at least a half a month longer, however, he was in no hurry.

It was fine as long as his skill conversion was completed before the Young Priest Selection, where he could then comprehensively cultivate a little.

With nearly a year left until the Young Priest Selection, there was more than enough time.

Plus, the Heaven Combining Ghost Skill had numerous powerful methods. He had to take time to cultivate it afterwards.

In the early morning of the next day, before the sun had risen, Su Mo left the residence and walked towards the battlefield of Black Glow City.

As he had searched Wu Chen’s memory, he was not unfamiliar with the battlefield. It was the place where the Sorcerer Tribesmen of Black Glow City duelled.

Inside the battlefield, one was able to have life-and-death battles, gambling fights, and even fight with beasts. This was the place that reeked of blood in Black Glow City.

After a while, Su Mo arrived at the battlefield.

It seemed like a city within a city. It occupied a dozen square miles and if one walked through the gate into the arena, one could see tall fighting platforms as well as four ringlike spectator platforms.

With its relatively large size, this battlefield could easily accommodate hundreds of thousands of people.

“Flame Lion, burn it!”

“White Jia Beast, shred it to pieces!”

“Roar! Roar! Roar!!”

The commotion in the battlefield could be felt as the sky tremored, and the spectator platform was filled with Sorcerer Tribesmen hooting and screaming.

At that moment, there were two ferocious beasts engaged on the Fighting Platform. One was a Flame Lion, whose body was burning with flames, and the other was a savage animal covered in white scales. The latter seemed like an ape, yet it was not one.

The two wild creatures were roughly ten feet tall and their terrifying auras were beyond compare, even from ten miles away as they tore at each other on the fighting platform.

This was a battle of beasts, and was considered to be a gambling fight where the spectators placed bets on their favored winner.

Both creatures had the strength of the Martial Emperor Realm. Each time they collided with each other, the strength and power of the collision was uncomparable. It shook the fighting platform and sent a turbulent blast that swept all of the stadium surroundings.

However, fixed arrays were equipped on the Fighting Platform and a giant Air Shield array hung in the sky, which completely isolated the force of the attacks.

When Su Mo entered the battlefield, he discovered that many eyes on the platform fell upon him.

Many people were already waiting for him!

Apparently yesterday’s incident had already spread throughout Black Glow City. Although it did not cause a huge sensation, it did attract the interest of many residents.

After all, many had heard of Wu Chen’s dirty actions and perceived him as extremely despicable.

Su Mo’s shifted his gaze, scanned his surroundings and quickly located Wu Lie and Wu Yu’er. The two of them look at him with eyes as cold as ice.

Su Mo smirked.

Other than his opponents, Wu Tian Yu, Wu Chang Yuan, as well as almost everyone who was at the Pagoda yesterday, were present.

Su Mo looked expressionless. Spotting an empty seat on the platform, he flew over and sat down.

The beast fight was still going on and, naturally, he would have to wait until the fight was over until it was his turn on the Fighting Platform..

Su Mo did not have to wait long. About fifteen minutes later, there was a winner among the two beasts.The White Jia Beast had burnt up in flames while the Flame Lion stood triumphant.

The battlefield was quickly cleaned by an Elder from the Sorcerer Tribe. The victorious Flame Lion was not that lucky, either. With a wave of his hand, the Elder killed the beast.

After that, the entire battlefield fell silent, as no one was fighting at the moment.The audience’s gaze went back and forth between Su Mo, Wu Lie, and Wu Yu’er.

Evidently, they were all waiting for the three of them to battle.

Swoosh!

A sound broke the silence. Wu Lie, with his big and strong frame, flew onto the Fighting Platform wearing a long red robe.

“Beast Wu Chen, accept your death!” Wu Lie glared straight at Su Mo, a strong sense of murderous intent in his voice.

With a cold and detached expression, Su Mo rose up and landed on the Fighting Platform ten miles away, staring at Wu Lie.

The battlefield was silent. A good show was about to begin. This was going to be a deadly battle, incomparable to the previous beast fight.

However, nobody was on Wu Chen’s side. After all, even though Wu Chen’s talent was not bad, nobody had heard of him having the strength to fight higher levels in a battle.

“Wu Chen, did you see the White Jia Beast just now? Soon, you’ll end up just like that!” Wu Lie laughed slightly, his eyes shooting murderous rays.

He said nothing more. After speaking, he clenched his iron fists which blazed a bright, shining red.

“Hold up!” Just as Wu Lie was about to attack, Su Mo suddenly opened his mouth to stop him.

“What’s wrong? Are you scared now? It’s too late for that!” sneered Wu Lie, his face full of sarcasm.

He truly thought Su Mo was scared.

Su Mo paid no attention to Wu Lie, and turned towards Wu Yu’er sitting amongst the spectator stand. “Come down, too! Let me settle you two for good!” He said in a loud, clear voice.

The moment the words left Su Mo’s mouth, the crowd gasped in surprise.

No way! Wu Chen actually wanted to fight two people alone?

Did he have the strength to do so?

Where did this confidence come from?

Was his brain fried?

The audience was in disbelief. At Wu Chen’s fighting level, he thought he was able to take on two people alone?

Wu Lie’s face darkened. Was Wu Chen mocking him? With his negligible strength, he actually wanted to fight the two of them by himself!

Wu Yu’er’s pretty face was also in a daze. She had not expected that Wu Chen would be so crazy that he wanted to fight the two of them by himself!

Although her heart was seething with murder, at the same time it was filled with uncertainty.

She thought she had understood Wu Chen well. The Wu Chen in the past was overly cautious and kept himself incomparably humble. The Wu Chen she knew and the Wu Chen now seemed to be two completely different people.

This was why he wanted to fight the two of them together, and not one-by-one. He wanted to get rid of them in the shortest time possible.

This was a preventive measure, just in case Wu Yu’er was able to see through his false identity after he killed Wu Lie. Or, far worse, if she grew afraid and did not dare to fight him after that.

Su Mo spoke no more and was the first to attack.
