Chapter 1277: Everyone’s Wrath
Tempers soared outside of Su Mo’s cultivation room. Meanwhile, extensive amounts of spiritual energy continued to circulate within the room.
Su Mo opened his eyes, his eyebrows raised and a serious look on his face.
Naturally he had heard the commotion and realized that a crowd of Sorcerer Tribe members had gathered outside of his cultivation room.
“Who cares!” thought Su Mo. He chuckled coldly to himself and closed his eyes once again to continue cultivating.
Those people wanted him to get out, but he stubbornly refused and stood his ground.
He was fearless, but also very well protected. The cultivation room was sufficiently safe since it could not be opened from the outside.
These rooms were constructed with a special material and in such a way that, in order to prevent people from barging into the room and disturbing the one cultivating inside, a protective barrier surrounded the entrance.
Unless Su Mo opened the door from within, the people outside definitely could not enter.
Su Mo did not concern himself with the anger of those other people. As long as he had a sufficient amount of Spiritual Qi to cultivate, he did not care for the lives of the Sorcerer Tribe men.
He considered all of them to be his enemies. If it weren’t for his low strength, he would have massacred everyone in the pagoda.
Su Mo was not afraid of offending the people outside, even though he knew that in the Sorcerer Tribe, rules were of utmost importance. Harsh punishments and even the death penalty served as deterrents for those who disobeyed.
Rumble!
Once again, Su Mo absorbed himself in his cultivation. The black colored Dark Force within him was like a river, rushing through with unstoppable force.
The Ghost Qi within his Dark Force soared. It was already close to transforming into pure Ghost Force.
The pressure on Su Mo was not small. This was a true Ghost skill, a far cry from those weak, knock-off Ghost skills to which he was accustomed.
Those so-called Ghost skills in the Firmament World barely allowed his Dark Force to maintain Ghost Qi. They could not possibly be called true Ghost skills.

This, the Heaven Combining Ghost Skill, was a real skill of the Ghost Tribe and would be cultivated into the most pure Ghost Force.
Within the Ghost Force there was a strong Ghost Spirit that radiated an aura of destruction and madness. Yet Su Mo remained calm, seemingly unaffected by the power within him.
Time passed slowly and the aura around Su Mo became larger and more explosive as the Spiritual void thickened.
Outside the cultivation room, the crowd was growing even more agitated as they had been shouting for so long and nothing had changed.
“What, who in the world is this idiot?”
“You dare to cause this trouble and then hide within the cultivation room!”
“Completely ridiculous. One person cultivating at the expense of all of us, what an idiot!”
The crowd was relentless in berating him, their anger shaking the walls and floor of Earth Pagoda.
If the person within the cultivation room chose to stay for a few months, then the rest of the Sorcerer Tribe would be unable to cultivate in the pagoda for the same amount of time!
This was outrageous!
Wu Tian Yu’s face was deadly serious. His chest heaving, he clenched his fist and wished fervently that he could break apart the cultivation room.
“Are you a tortoise hiding within your own shell? I don’t believe that you won’t come out!” laughing coldly, Wu Tian Yu sat on the ground and waited directly outside Su Mo’s cultivation room.
He did not believe that the person within the cultivation room could stay there forever. He wanted to see this bold fool.
“Brother Tian Yu, I will wait with you!” Wu Chang Yuan cried, his face as dark as Tian Yu’s. He sat beside the more advanced sorcerer, both of them facing the door.
Chang Yuan did not suspect that the person inside was Wu Chen — who was, of course, just Su Mo possessing the body — for he had assumed that Wu Chen has already left.
“I want to know, who in the world is this person?”
“If this man comes out, I will be the first to cripple him!”

“I don’t believe he will stay in the room for his whole life!”
Among the infuriated crowd, not one person left. Like Wu Tian Yu, they had all decided to wait for the door to open.
They wanted to see who in the world would disrespect them!
Not only did everyone stay, but more people gathered at the scene. Many were those who had just entered the pagoda and, to their frustration, were unable to use the cultivation rooms.
After asking around and understanding the situation, even the newcomers felt shocked and angry.
Within an hour, more than ten thousand people had gathered at the small, first level.
Meanwhile, Su Mo’s cultivation room was completely surrounded, so much so that not even a bug would be able to fly through the wall of bodies and into the room.
Voices loud enough to shake the skies rose above one another. It was absolute chaos.
“Everyone move aside!”
A voice boomed from the pagoda’s main door. Two hours had passed and, finally, an elder of the Sorcerer Tribe, clad in a long brown robe, strode through the crowd.
“Elder Xun is here! Everyone step aside!”
Someone anxiously shouted. The crowd dispersed to reveal a route that led directly to the door of Su Mo’s cultivation room.
“What is wrong?” the brown robed elder asked with a frown, pacing in front of the cultivation room.
“Elder Xun, we are not sure who is inside this cultivation room or what technique he has used, but all of the Spiritual Qi from the core has been diverted to here. The Spiritual Qi stopped flowing into the other rooms and made it impossible for the rest of us to cultivate!”
Wu Tian Yu explained, raising himself and offering a salute to the elder.
This elder was Wu Xun, the member in charge of the pagoda. It was his responsibility to ensure the smooth running of the pagoda every day, thus, this dilemma was his to solve.
“There is such a thing as this?” questioned Elder Xun. His eyes widened and a look of astonishment formed on his face. He had rushed over knowing that something was wrong with the pagoda, but he truly had no idea what happened.
A single cultivation room could truly siphon all of the Spiritual Qi from the core, stopping the flow to other rooms?
How could this be possible?
He had been the supervisor of the pagoda for over two hundred years and had overseen the replacing of the core many times. But never had he encountered such a situation.
Looking carefully at the door of the cultivation room, Elder Xun squinted his eyes and wrinkled his brow in concentration. He realized that Wu Tian Yu was correct: all the Spiritual Qi from the core was rushing into this single cultivation room.
The speed of the Spiritual Qi flow surprised him. Less experienced men would imagine that it was an expert martial artist inside the cultivation room, but Wu Xun knew better.
His face turned gravely serious. This was undoubtedly foul play. How would anyone else be able to cultivate with such control over the Spiritual Qi?
“Elder Xun, we have no idea who is inside. No matter how much we yell, the man still refuses to come out!”
“That’s right! Please open the door to this cultivation room, Elder Xun!”
“Yes. Let this idiot come out!”
“This man is despicable!”
Everyone began shouting in an attempt to express their dissatisfaction to Elder Xun.
“Mmhm!”
Elder Xun murmured, then nodded slightly and turned towards the cultivation room. In a deep tone, he said, “Young man in the room, please come out immediately. Otherwise, don’t blame me for disrupting your cultivation!”
Wu Xun did not immediately open the door. Although the person inside was behaving inappropriately, if he was at an important stage in his cultivation, then opening the door would cause an accident.
Therefore he warned the person inside, hoping that he would prepare to walk out on his own.
In less than two breaths after Wu Xun spoke, something finally stirred within the cultivation room. The stone-like door slowly opened.
In an instant, everyone turned and stared directly at the cultivation room door. They all wanted to see, first hand, who in the world was the man in the cultivation room!

How the Stars Turned Red
Announcement as of 05 July 2022: I've been diagnosed with some pretty severe nerve damage in my left arm, rendering me unable to write effectively, and as such this story is on hold until it is healed. I am so sorry, and I promise to get back to writing as soon as possible. In the latter half of the 3rd millennium CE, humanity has spread across the stars, inhabiting close to five-hundred worlds across the Orion Arm. Earth has become irrelevant, a historical has-been. The galactic map is dominated by two mega-factions, both controlling vast amounts of territories either through direct control or through their many allies and treaty signatories. The Kingdom of Aurora is the political and economic hegemon despite consisting of only seven inhabited worlds; their strength lies in the Royal Union, an interstellar commonwealth composing an internal market and a common defence pact. These member worlds are myriad and varied, culturally as well as politically, but they all flock to the same banner. The Independent Systems Alliance, spearheaded by the Republic of Elysium, is the ascendant challenger to Aurora and the Union. A pseudo-federal multi-system polity, the Alliance economy and military is rapidly expanding, but at the cost of effective democratic and meritocratic involvement by its people. However, with two superpowers as this, chafing along a common border, and with a constant clamour of polemics, both sides have become convinced the other is constantly preparing for war and are on the look-out for any perceived weakness in their opponent. The predictable result is a huge arms race and a cold war spreading across the stars, requiring only a spark to set the galaxy aflame. Drawn into this game of high stakes are ordinary men and women, their peaceful lives, hopes, and aspirations swallowed by the vortex of conflict and distrust. This is their story. Cover art by Rhodex Designs (FB). Hope you like long chapters and adjectives. Note: English is not my first language. Another story set in the same universe, written by a good friend
