Chapter 1264: The Perfect Fighting Soul!

Zhao Cheng and Guo Jian Qing both delivered mighty blows to counter Su Mo’s three-colored sword Qi.

However, the two men were too affected by the Devouring Fighting Soul. Not only did the Fighting Soul exert immense power, but it also greatly weakened the power of the two men’s Cultivation Dark Force.

Although the shots from both men were very powerful, there was not much difference before activating their Fighting Souls.

Seeing that the Sword Qi was about to reach him, Guo Jian Qing could only hastily block the attack, brandishing a long sword in defense.

Suddenly a light flashed in Zhao Cheng’s left hand, and a large black shield appeared in front of him.

The light from the black shield’s appearance spread out in front of the two men, its momentum extraordinary.

The next moment, the huge three-colored sword Qi struck the shield and Guo Jian Qing’s long sword successively.

“How is this possible? How can there be so many Fighting Souls?” Guo Jian Qing questioned, coughing incessantly as blood flowed from his mouth into the deep pit.

Deep shock and an overpowering sense of fear lingered in his eyes.

He was not scared by Su Mo’s strength, but by his talent.

If he had not witnessed it with his own eyes, he would not have believed it. In this world there was someone who had dozens of Fighting Souls.

“Jian Qing, let’s go quickly!”

Nearby, Zhao Cheng, in a sorry state, flew out from his deep pit and called out to Jian Qing, wanting to escape immediately.

Zhao Cheng was not severely harmed, just shocked. Yet he sustained no serious injuries, for which he had the shield in his hand to thank.

Although the shield was an Upper Imperial Weapon, it was of excellent quality, almost comparable to that of the Honourable Weapons. Thus, it possessed strong defensive powers.

Nonetheless, as for killing Su Mo, the task was now impossible!

If they had known that Su Mo was such a menacing demon, they would not have come at all.

At this point, Zhao Cheng was boiling with rage and started to develop a hatred towards Tai Shixuan.

Tai Shixuan had assigned them the mission without knowing all of the details about Su Mo and his powers. They were simply courting their deaths!

After flying out of the deep pits, Zhao Cheng and Guo Qing Si attempted to escape, afraid to stop.

“Do you think you can escape?”

Su Mo’s cold voice boomed around them. His body looked as though it was a giant bird, unfurling its wings and descending from the sky.

Zhao Cheng and Guo Jian Qing were entirely shrouded by the Devouring Power. There was absolutely no way to escape as their speed was incomparable to that of Su Mo’s.

At lightning speed, Su Mo closed in on the two men. In a heartbeat he was merely 100 miles away from them.

He flew closer, and they could feel the Devouring Power becoming more powerful. The faster Su Mo approached them, the more the duo felt that their speed was equally reduced, as if they were stuck in mud.

“What’s happening? What kind of power is this?” Guo Qing Jian screamed and hollered, scared out of his wits.

He had already sustained serious injuries. If he could not escape in time, there was no doubt that he would die.

Zhao Cheng’s face was equally pale, yet he had slightly more strength than Guo Jian Qing. He did not sustain any fatal wounds, but he was still extremely scared.

The two looked at each other and, in silent agreement, came to an immediate stop. They turned around to face Su Mo.

Under the hold of the Devouring Power, there was no escape. They might as well stop running away.

“Why have you stopped?” Su Mo shouted, and landed fifty miles in front of the two. The giant Devouring Soul stood tall with dozens of Fighting Souls floating behind him, their powerful aura striking fear into the two men’s hearts.

With all their might, Zhao Cheng and Guo Jian Qing fought to control their bodies, suppressing their inner Dark Force and Blood Qi. It was an extremely strenuous task, but it was to avoid being sucked in by the Devouring Soul.

The formidable Devouring power even caused their inner Divine Pills to tremble incessantly.

Zhao Cheng glanced at the dozens of Fighting Souls behind Su Mo and gulped. In a low voice, he began, “Su Mo, we apologise. Let’s end it here, what do you say?”

Zhao Cheng’s plan was to transform the hostile relationship into an amiable one, and then run for his life. If that did not work, he would have to fight for his and Guo Jian Qing’s survival.

“Your attempt to kill me failed, and now you think apologizing will resolve the issue?” Su Mo laughed scornfully at the proposal. He was in no rush to attack. The more time passed, the weaker the two of them would become.

With his Devouring Soul, the two were unable to suppress their inner Dark Force and Blood Qi, which continuously dissipated out of their bodies.

The process was not fast but, with sufficient time, the impact on the duo’s strength would be drastic.

As such, Su Mo was not in a hurry. When the time was right, he would effortlessly kill them.

However, Su Mo’s heart was still somewhat emotional. He did not expect that once his Devouring Fighting Soul evolved into a Fighting Soul, it would be so unexpectedly strong in full force.

It indeed proved to be the Perfect Fighting Soul!

Fighting Souls were divided into four ranks: Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced, and Perfect.

The distinction had nothing to do with the type and ability of the Fighting Soul. It only referred to the strength of the Fighting Soul.

To evolve into a Perfect Fighting Soul, one must first possess a Rank 9 Fighting Soul. After which, the two had to see eye-to-eye and have very strong Ultimacies. Lastly, an extremely powerful Spiritual Soul was needed.

None one of the four conditions could do without the either. Not a single one of these conditions was dispensable.

If Su Mo had used the Immortal Ultimacy to evolve his Fighting Soul when it was originally at Rank 7, at the most it would have been an Advanced Fighting Soul, or even an intermediate one after evolving into a Devouring Fighting Soul. This would have happened even though his Spiritual Soul was very strong.

In fact, over 80% of the warriors in the Martial Emperor Realm were Elementary Fighting Souls and only 10% were Intermediate ones.

Among the remaining 10%, most of them were Advanced Fighting Souls and very few were Perfect Fighting Souls.

Therefore, after evolving into a Perfect Fighting Soul, the power of a Devouring Fighting Soul would have increased more than tenfold.

“Su Mo, we are part of Taishi Xuan’s family. Do you know what the consequences of killing us would be?” Zhao Cheng responded coldly and with a sullen face.

“Oh? What consequences?” Su Mo sneered, his eyes lighting up.
