Chapter 1073: Killing Desire Set In
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
Swish!
Su Mo rode his sword. The Natal Spiritual Sword at its finest was extremely fast.
The five of them were in hot pursuit, not as fast but not much slower.
“A big loss this time!” Su Mo heaved a sigh during his flight.
The Imperial weapons he used on those Phantom Avatars were taken by Yan Tai when they collapsed.
However, it wasn’t a big deal. He would take them all back when he wiped out the Netherworld Devil Sect.
Whoosh!
An unpleasant sound pierced through the air, followed by a sharp saber radiance breaking the void from ten thousand miles away and stabbing towards Su Mo like a lightning bolt.
The Yama Hall Master took action!
This slash was considerably enhanced by some shocking force of the Ultimacy, cold and cruel.
Swish!
Su Mo didn’t meet this strike with force. Instead, he dodged swiftly on the Natal Spiritual Sword.
“You can’t get away!” Yan Tai shouted angrily. He shot out one after another huge palm mark, aiming at Su Mo from all sides.
The other three hall masters joined Yan Tai’s attack. Their claw radiance and fist radiance tore the boundless void apart and charged towards Su Mo.
Their strikes were powerful but, given that distance between them, they could hardly hit Su Mo. Let alone defeating him.
“Crush!”
The Emperor Sword twinkled as Su Mo fired back beams of sword qi without looking back, creating a violent storm of sword qi.
He kept moving forward at full speed.
The storm of sword qi met their strikes, breaking and causing a series of explosions.
Their attacks couldn’t hurt Su Mo but negatively affected their own speed.
“Jerk!” Yan Tai was so full of rage. The five of them together could hold their ground for a good while in front of an Emperor-to-be. How could this Su Mo of Lv 2 Martial Royal Realm be so hard to remove?

The masters of the Shady Hall, Corpse Hall, and Ghost Hall looked very much annoyed. They now regretted for their neglect.
They wouldn’t let him escape this easily if they knew Su Mo was this powerful.
They would set up a deadly array and finish Su Mo inside.
They didn’t take it seriously enough. They knew Su Mo was extraordinary but they were too confident in their cultivation of Lv 9 Martial Royal Realm.
Their carelessness had driven them to this desperate state.
They intended to break into the Firmament Palace but soon abandoned the plan when they realized how indestructible its water curtain large formation was. They had waited long for Su Mo to come out.
But when Su Mo finally came out, they were unable to kill him.
“Don’t worry. He has nowhere to hide between heaven and earth!” The Yama Hall Master, the cool youth, said with no facial expression.
His words suppressed the other four’s anger. Su Mo was still alive but he had zero chance of getting away.
As long as they continued with the pursuit, catching up with him would be simply a matter of time.
Their Fleeing Skill was exceptional so they could temporarily increase their speed dramatically. However, the Fleeing Skill couldn’t be controlled, making it great for escaping but unsuitable for giving chase.
“Let’s inform Second Demon Elder. He can kill Su Mo without a question!” Said Yan Tai in a very deep voice after a moment of thought.
“I can’t agree with that. Second Demon Elder might reveal his identity and the Holy Sect’s plan would be affected.” The Ghost Hall Master shook his head with strong disapproval of Yan Tai’s suggestion.
“I don’t care. We need to remove Su Mo at all costs even if that means an early exposure.”
Yan Tai’s eyes filled with an intense, cold killing desire. “The sect master and First Demon Elder are both in seclusion. Second Demon Elder is our only hope in killing Su Mo.”

After a long silence, they nodded their consent.
Yan Tai had a point. With such great talents, so fast growth, and the Firmament Palace’s inner power, Su Mo would become a huge problem if left alive.
Given him another year or half, there might be no one capable of killing him. Their Netherworld Devil Sect would fall into a very passive state.
Their sect master and First Demon Elder were attempting the Martial Emperor Realm but no one could say for sure that it would be a success.
With the four hall masters’ approval, Yan Tai flipped his palm and revealed a black beetle of the size of his thumb in his hand.
The beetle had three pairs of transparent wings and a black shell that carried a cold shine.
Swish!
The black beetle vanished into the depths of the void in a flash.
This was a special communication tool used by the Netherworld Devil Sect, the three-winded Nether Beetle.
Sending messages by the Three-winged Nether Beetle had no limit on distance. It could reach anyone from billions of li away.
The longer distance, the more time.
They halted their advance and followed closely behind Su Mo, waiting for Second Demon Elder’s arrival.
The endless chase continued for over ten days.
After being on the run for this long, Su Mo was running out of patience. But he had no way to get rid of the pursuers.
He had more techniques to perform but it would be very hard to shake these powerful fighters off completely.
He still had the Three Secret Techniques but he would rather save it for some life threatening moment.
One day, Su Mo saw a mountain range extending all the way to the end of his vision.
In the mountains, beasts screamed loud, old growth stood up high, and mountain peaks stretched out far. The range seemed old and wild.
“The Barbaric Mountains!” Su Mo was amazed. He had been on the run without much concern about directions. He made it to the Barbaric Mountains to his surprise.
“Great. The East Sea Dragon Palace it is then!”
After giving it some thought, Su Mo put on a bright smile. Behind the Barbaric Mountains it would be the East Continent. And after the East Continent, he would reach the East Sea.
As long as he could make it to the East Sea, the five pursuers, however powerful they were, wouldn’t dare break into the Flood-dragon tribe’s territory.
He would be safe there. He might even be able to kill the five with the Flood-dragon tribe’s support.
Su Mo drove his Natal Spiritual Sword without hesitation towards the Barbaric Mountains.
Whoosh!
In the form of a sword, Su Mo pierced through everything he passed at the speed of lightning.
The five in pursuit followed closely into the Barbaric Mountains.
Roar! Roar! Roar!
Countless beasts were yelling in the mountains below them, shaking earth and heaven.
A large number of Barbaric demonic beasts were disturbed by Su Mo and his followers’ powerful aura, running with fear and distress.
Even those mighty Lv 7 demonic beasts were too afraid to reveal themselves.
Covering an area of eight million li in radius, the Barbaric Mountains took Su Mo over one month to travel through during his journey from the East Continent to the Central Continent.
This time he already made it to the half way point after a few hours.
“I should be able to reach the East Sea Dragon Palace in five or six days!” Su Mo muttered to himself while looking back at his pursuers. He felt slightly puzzled.
They hadn’t talked or attacked for a long while, simply following behind. Some plot must be brewing.
Su Mo was pondering with a frown when a sudden change took place. His heart was shrouded by a cold killing desire.
The peaceful space to Su Mo’s side abruptly cracked open when a huge black spike pierced out violently.

But after his injury he has been suck at his home not being able to do anything! Fortunately he is rich and spends most of his time playing MMOs since normal VRMMOs don't work well with his injury as the realism setting always keeps him with only one leg! But what will he do with a new opportunity to rebuild his leg with nanotech? Knowing he has to spend a year in the game minimum for something like this, he sets a goal to insure he doesn't go crazy (er) without having stuff to kill. This is a VRMMO story where the game is closer to zhan long than royal road with a few twists here and there. The world outside of the game is sci fi and has very little impact at least for the first year due to obvious reasons. No gore or explicit sex in this story, if cursing requires a mature tag I will add it later, this story is at best PG-13. Tragedy is for his circumstances and previous life, the game itself isn't tragic at all as it's just a game more or less.(This story will be put out alongside my main story whenever I feel like it for now, no set schedule at this time)
