Chapter 1019: How Interesting!
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
“He’s only in the Lv 6 of the Martial King Realm. It would be earth-shattering if he can defeat Zhan Luan with his current cultivation state!”
Dragon Emperor Tuntian’s expression was grave as he continued, “But the probability of this happening is low, it is very low!”
“We will find out soon. Second Uncle, let’s wait and see!” Long Teng said with a smile. He had confidence in Su Mo.
With that, the two stopped talking and watched the battle silently.
All was silent around the Jade Cloud Lake as hundreds of thousands of martial artists waited in anticipation.
Everyone wanted to know if the young man who had risen so rapidly like a comet could create yet another miracle. They wanted to know if he could take over the position as the invincible one of the younger generation in the Firmament World.
An inconspicuous young man stood stiffly in the crowd, staring silently at Su Mo, who was on the Jade Cloud Lake.
“Su Mo, if you win today, it means that the time has come for the Firmament Palace to enter the world!” The young man murmured to himself.
This young man was none other than Wenren Tiandu, the descendant of the Illuminious Palace.
“He’s such an interesting person who is hard to understand!” Jiang Fengran sighed lightly on another peak.
As everyone focused on preparing to watch the battle of the younger generation of the Firmament and Continent, no one noticed a young man dressed in a long red robe who appeared on one of the peaks.
The young man was Sikong Yan. Wu Shan was in his Sky-burn Tower.
Sikong Yan was slower than Su Mo. He had finally reached the Jade Cloud Lake after employing some special methods.
On the Jade Cloud Lake.
Su Mo looked solemn, not daring to take Zhan Luan lightly. His five divine elixirs were all triggered, and his violent Dark Force surged upwards.
A powerful force enveloped Zhan Luan completely. However, Zhan Luan did not react to it at all, not at all affected by Su Mo’s power.

“Fight!”
Zhan Luan suddenly yelled out loud. He took a step forward, and traveled dozens of miles in the twinkle of an eye, stopping in front of Su Mo.
Boom!
An iron fist broke through the air. Zhan Luan’s fist was surrounded by a purple glow, fist force converging around it. The fist landed heavily on Su Mo’s chest.
This punch was incredibly powerful, the force blew a hole through the void like a large bomb.
This was Zhan Luan’s physical strength. The purple glow was the Qi Force formed by his physical strength.
Swish!
Su Mo did not hesitate either. He waved his arm, and the Demonic Sword moved in a graceful arc reminiscent of the moon, cutting towards Zhan Luan’s fist.
The sword radiance was sharp and unparalleled, tearing through the air smoothly. The blinding light stopped people from looking at it directly.
Su Mo and Zhan Luan were complete opposites. Zhan Luan used his physical strength when he used his fist and did not make use of any of his Dark Force.
Meanwhile, Su Mo’s wave of a sword made use of his cultivation Dark Force. He did not use an ounce of his physical strength.
The heavy fist that was like a mountain and the slashing of the sharp sword met violently.
Boom!
A startling explosion rocked the surrounding radius for several thousand miles. The meeting of the fist and sword had caused a huge devastating blast.
“Rumble!”
Continuous explosions rocked the void. A large pressure seemed to be exerted upon the Jade Cloud River and a pit with a radius of several hundred miles and several thousand feet deep appeared in an instant.
The water from the lake rolled up in all directions to tens and thousands of feet high. It was terrifying.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
Su Mo and Zhan Luan both retreated, flying several hundred miles back before stopping.
Su Mo shook his arm out. The collision had made his right arm which held the sword feel sore.
Zhan Luan’s expression darkened. He raised his fist and glanced at it, seeing deep red marks on it.
Su Mo’s sword had almost torn open his fist.

“Good, perhaps you might be qualified to have me try my best!” Zhan Luan said proudly as he looked at Su Mo.
The attack earlier had been to test the waters, and he now knew more about Su Mo’s strength.
However, Zhan Luan’s remark was arrogant. Su Mo only was “perhaps qualified” to fight him even though he had almost torn Zhan Luan’s fist open.
“Is that so?” Su Mo laughed lightly at the comment. He replied, “The more confident a person is, the more terrible would his failure be.”
Zhan Luan was testing Su Mo, and Su Mo was also testing Zhan Luan. Zhan Luan was indeed very strong, but it was within Su Mo’s expectations.
“Failure is something that has never happened to me. It never has and never will!” Zhan Luan said with confidence, looking like an arrogant god of war.
Su Mo smiled when he heard that, and he sneered, “Show me your true strength! Otherwise, you’re not worthy to be my opponent!”
Su Mo’s remark traveled in all directions, shocking the countless spectators of the battle.
“My god. Su Mo’s looking down on Zhan Luan! He’s too arrogant!”
“How crazy!”
“This is the pride of a genius. Su Mo’s rise had given him the belief that he is peerless!”
“…”
The crowd debated.
It was rumored that Su Mo was arrogant and conceited. It seemed that the rumors were true!
Su Mo had even said that Zhan Luan was unworthy to be his opponent if he did not display his true strength!
No one in the younger generation of the Firmament World would dare to speak so arrogantly!
But what the crowd did not know was that Su Mo was not being arrogant, but that he was confident.
He had experienced a significant increase in his strength since the travel to the Fighting Spirits’Plane.
His cultivation had not only increased from Lv 5 to Lv 6 of the Martial Royal Realm, but his physical strength had also improved by several states, reaching the Martial Royal Realm.
These were all secondary. What was most important was that his travel to the East Continent had allowed the Billion Demonic Spirit to devour a huge amount of blood.
The martial artists of the Cold-blood Hall had all become fodder for the Demonic Spirit, and the increase in power of the Demonic Spirit was also very terrifying.
The Demonic Spirit had grown stronger, and thus, the power of the Billion Demonic Sword had naturally risen by leaps and bounds.
As such, Su Mo was about 70 percent sure that he would be able to defeat Zhan Luan.
“Not worthy to be your opponent?” Zhan Luan paused for a moment when he heard that. And then, he laughed loudly.
“Ha, ha, ha!”
Zhan Luan looked flippant as he laughed loudly, “How interesting, how interesting! I never thought that there’d be a day when I’d be looked down upon!”
Zhan Luan did not grow angry because of Su Mo’s comment. Instead, he felt that it was rather interesting.
Because his peers had always been afraid, or tried to butter up to him, or worshiped him ever since he started practicing martial arts. He had never been looked down upon.
And now, he, who was on the top of the List of 10,000 Talents had been looked down upon. It was really interesting!
“Su Mo, I will use 70 percent of my strength next. I hope that you won’t lose too quickly. Otherwise, it’d be really boring!”
Zhan Luan said gravely moments later, wiping the smile off his face.
Su Mo did not speak. He looked indifferent and only raised his hand and motioned for Zhan Luan to make the move.
“You really know how to put on airs!”
Zhan Luan saw Su Mo’s reaction and sniggered. Then, he did not say anything else and attacked once more.
“Swish!”
Zhan Luan stepped on the lake and made a large crater that was a hundred feet deep into the water that had already calmed down. Then, herushed up into the air, rising up to a height of several thousand feet high.
“Take this. Heavenly Conqueror Fist!”
Zhan Luan bellowed, shaking the skies. He stood in the air high above and punched.

Battle Royale across the Universe: The Species Tournament
Join the Species Tournament! You might lose your sanity, and quite possibly, your life. But hey, great adventure awaits. Who would accept such a deal and risk it all for glory and the unknown? Well, apparently quite a few. In fact, 1.000.000 life forms will face each other in this century’s tournament. Who will win and who’ll be sent packing? Who will gain strength and who’ll leave with trauma? Find out on this week’s episode of the Species Tournament! ................................................................................................... Additional notes (for those who want more details before giving the novel a try): - It’s a battle royale type of setting between humans, pixies, elves, and dwarves organized by a Television Channel from the Demon World. - The MC foolishly decides to join the competition and will struggle to redeem himself throughout the story. The unfolding events will force him and his friends to mature in different ways. - Each round will be held in a different location/planet. The rounds and the locations will become crazier as the plot progresses. - There will be a mystery aspect to the story, since the demons don’t really like spoon feeding contestants on what is going on. - You can expect some magic elements, though contestants won't have much access to them. - The members of each species will have their own unique worlds, back-stories, motivations, and traits. Some will fight for personal reasons while others for the sake of their people. The needs of many vs. the needs of the individual will clash on several occasions. - Finally, there will be twists and turns at every corner, so one should never get too comfortable. Thanks in advance to all who read my story, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!

Homecoming | A Chronicles of Ascension Story
When Jethen was captured by slavers, his childhood was torn from him and left shattered half a world away. When he finds himself back home decades later, by methods he does not fully understand, he finds that the life he has lived has changed him far more than he knew. In a home he no longer knows. Places and people at the same time familiar and foreign, he must decide - stay and help with his parent's business, or return to the land that remade him and the family he made there. --------- Homecoming started as just a short story to break an episode of writers block. It has since morphed well beyond that into a novel in it's own right, and may well end up with a sequel. The writing of Homecoming became a bit of a self induced challenge to improve my initial, first brush, writing quality. Each chapter was written raw, given a once over read and edit, and then posted. In this way I am forcing myself to write better from the start. I do hope you enjoy the story and will leave a comment or review, and if you see an issue, feel free to let me know as well. I know it is not nearly perfect, and it will get a full and proper edit once I am done. Never hurts to fix things along the way though. As an additional note. The story has undergone a structural rework and has been reposted in an updated structure and sequence of chapters. If you have read this story already, I invite you to do so again in this new structure.
