Chapter 835: Wind Ultimacy
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
Just as the piercing sword radiance was about to hit him, Su Mo made his move.
He waved his sword to produce his final hit which headed straight for Xi’er.
If it was just Xi’er’s feelings that had changed, he would have never attacked her.
However, now that she wanted to kill him, there should be no mercy!
Having pity for women would cost him his life!
After he slashed out, the Space was destroyed and everything shattered.
Su Mo found himself back on the stairs.
Phew!
Su Mo let out a sigh of relief, his body covered in cold sweat. This dreamland was just too terrifying!
He knew that this was a test of his resolve. Those whose will were not strong enough, or took pity on women would definitely fail.
Su Mosuddenly felt nervous as he looked at the Emperor’s Throne ahead. There was only one more step to go.
Once he completed the challenge on the 32nd step, he would be able to climb up to the 33rd step and sit on the Emperor’s Throne.
This was his final challenge!
Su Mo did not know what lay ahead of him, but he was sure it would be extremely challenging. Otherwise, Jiang Fengran would not have failed.
He took a deep breath and stepped forward.
The crowd at the ancient palace burst into an uproar.
“Unbelievable! He has managed to make it all the way to the final step!”
“This young man is really extraordinary. His achievement alone today would make him famous all across the Central Continent!”
“Do you think he’ll be able to sit on the Emperor’s Throne?”
“It’s going to be tough! I’ve heard that the final challenge is about understanding the Way, and it might even be life-threatening!”
Everyone engaged in lively chatter, all astonished by what Su Mo had managed to achieve. They were a hundred times more astonished watching Su Mo as compared to Jiang Fengran.
After all, Jiang Fengran was a top 500 Supreme Talent on the List of 10,000 Talents. He was known all across the land, but Su Mo was a complete unknown.

Teal Fire King clenched his fists unconsciously.
Su Mo’s progress left him completely speechless with surprise.
Even if Su Mo ultimately managed to sit on the Emperor’s Throne, he would still feel that Su Mo was still too weak as compared to him. However, if Su Mo did manage to sit on the Emperor’s Throne, that would mean that he possessed the Martial Emperor Realm Qualification!
Teal Fire King felt a twinge of uneasiness at the thought of how he was plotting to kill a talent with Martial Emperor Realm Qualification.
“Impossible, there’s no way he’ll be able to do this!” Teal Fire King thought.
He took a deep breath to calm himself. Su Mo would definitely not succeed since even Jiang Fengran had failed.
Could Su Mo be even more talented than Jiang Fengran? That seemed very unlikely.
After Su Mo stepped on the 32nd step, he found himself in a Space with clear skies.
This time, Su Mo’s mind remained clear and his consciousness was not under the influence of any elusive formation.
He looked around and saw that the Space was not very big. It only had a radius of less than 50 kilometers.
He could see mountains, forests, fire, ice, light and darkness.
The wind howled as thunder and lightning rumbled in this Space.
As he stood where he was, Su Mo could sense the powerful Ultimacy of heaven and earth permeating this Space.
The flowing river, howling wind and even the bright flash of lightning all seemed very mysterious and profound.
It was as if the flowing river was no longer just water, but the source of all water and the Way of Water.
That howling wind also ceased to be just wind but represented the Way of Wind and the source of all wind.
“Ultimacy?” Su Mo wondered aloud.
Everything in this Space pulsed with powerful Ultimacy. This place was truly a treasure spot!
If he could spend time here understanding Ultimacy for more than a year, he would greatly benefit from it!
Su Mo grew more and more confused as he started to wonder what was this challenge about.

His sense of confusion only grew deeper as he strolled around this Space. There was no one here at all!
“Am I supposed to understand all these Ultimacies?” Su Mo muttered to himself. If he was not supposed to understand Ultimacy, why was there such a strong Ultimacy power here?
“Am I supposed to understand all these Ultimacies?” Su Mo muttered to himself. If he was not supposed to understand Ultimacy, why was there such a strong Ultimacy power here?
Su Mo did not delve too deeply into it and sat cross-legged on the ground as he prepared to comprehend the Ultimacies.
He looked around and his gaze locked in on the wind howling through this place.
He had previously cultivated the Divine Wind Swordplay for a long time, so his comprehension of Wind was slightly stronger than the others. Therefore, he decided to comprehend the Wind Ultimacy.
He cast aside all distractions and quietly sensed the howling wind around him.
Ultimacy was also known as the Way of Heaven and Earth, but it was just a small branch of the Way.
Ultimacy and sword will shared some similarities but were also different. Sword will was an expression of the martial artist’s sword will willpower.
Su Mo had not increased his sword will for some time because he had felt that the time spent increasing his cultivation would be much more effective being spent on improving his sword will.
The Ultimacy could merge with sword will as evidenced by his Wind Sword Will before.
But he had barely comprehended Wind Ultimacy.
He sat as still as an old monk and carefully observed and sensed the surrounding wind movement.
The wind continued to be indiscernible and ethereal. It came and went as it wished.
As Su Mo took in the changes of the wind and the traces it left behind, powerful Wind Ultimacy started to burst forth.
Time trickled by slowly and Su Mo gained a deeper understanding of wind.
Two weeks soon passed as he quietly deciphered the secrets of wind.
“Wind!” Su Mo muttered.
He waved and a ray of sword Qi slashed forth from his hand.
This ray of sword Qi moved like the wind, unpredictable and indiscernible.
Without looking at it, this sword Qi felt like the howling wind whipping against one’s body.
Su Mo continued his comprehension of wind and soon, another two weeks had passed.
Su Mo had gained a relatively deep understanding of wind by this time. One thought from him was enough to send lots of wind flying toward him and then swirled around his figure.
He then sent them away with another thought.
“One month has now passed. How do I pass this challenge?”
Rather than looking pleased at how far he had come, Su Mo looked perplexed. He could not afford to waste any more time here, but he did not know how to get out.
The air suddenly changed as all the howling wind gathered everything in sight and shaped themselves into a human figure.
A human figure slowly formed and he was more than 6 meters tall. His whole body was transparent, but he seemed extremely life-like.
“What..!” Su Mo was not surprised but thrilled to see that the time for his challenge had finally come.
If he could defeat this person, he would be able to pass.
Su Mo hastily rose to his feet but his face suddenly froze just as he was about to attack.
He found that he was unable to draw on his cultivation. Not just that, but his physical strength had also been suppressed, leaving him weak and feeble.
“What’s happening?” Su Mo was shocked.
The man of wind suddenly chose that time to make his move.
He waved his hand and sharp wind blades turned to attack Su Mo.
Su Mo started to panic. How was he going to block these attacks without his cultivation?
Su Mo hastily tried to dodge to the side as the wind blades approached.
Puff!
Su Mo had reacted quickly, but his shoulder was still slashed by the wind blades. The skin on his shoulder instantly split open and blood flowed freely.

Path of the Ancients
When humans with the ability to control the fundamental particles of the universe with their minds were first discovered, the age of space travel began in earnest. Relativistic travel faster than the speed of light became possible and humanity moved out into the stars. When it was discovered that these Mages could be turned into effective weapons, humanity turned back to its oldest pastime of war. Hundreds of years later as humanity was on the brink of self-destruction, with its taste for war finally beginning to wane, a new organization was created. The Conclave was formed to regulate all Mage’s within the human colonies. While the colonies maintained their independence, the Conclave’s control over access to interstellar travel made them the de facto power amongst humanity. As the old saying goes, ‘Power Corrupts’, and many people were unhappy with the way the Conclave had been leveraging its authority, not the least of which were the Mages they controlled. One unregistered illegal Mage by the name of Tyrial had made it his life's mission to dismantle the Conclave at any cost. After spending decades working towards his goals alone, he realized he would need the aid of willing allies in his crusade. Runicka: Tournament of Monsters (A GameLit Card Game Fantasy)
The runes are changing, and with it, the game itself changes. Taygion Ardwella finds himself stranded, alone, and on the run from some very determined guards who claim Tay's stolen from them. They're right, but that shouldn't mean Tay has to give back what he took. He's only been in Stormwall for a week and already, he's earning the ire of the most powerful and notorious House that controls the city's underground. And when their scion challenges Tay to a duel of cards, Tay will find himself thrust into a game of sorcery and strategy as he attempts to both find a way out of this mess and find his own way in the world. To do both, he'll need to learn to accept guidance and coaching where it's sorely needed, craft a deck of unimaginable power, and not die whenever his opponents try and cheat him out of a hard-earn victory. But not all is as it seems in the shadows of Stormwall, and if Tay can figure out the importance of what it is he's stolen, he may just have a chance at saving the game of Runicka. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Runicka: Tournament of Monsters is a high fantasy, card game-based adventure novel with enough magic, worldbuilding, and characters to fill a Sanderson series. I would consider it a part of the GameLit subgenre. This series in particular is not an isekai, and will start and end in a high fantasy setting complete with its own lore and backstory. It is a progression fantasy, and I am writing it inspired by all the Yu-Gi-Oh mangas/animes, and all the hours I've invested/wasted (depending on who you ask) playing TCGs like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a work in progress. In your journey through Stormwall alongside Tay, you'll probably find typos, grammatical errors, and maybe a confusing sentence every once in a while (although I hope to keep these to a minimum). That said, comments and suggestions on where I can improve are not only encouraged but greatly appreciated. And finally, expect new chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**Currently on a small hiatus. I have a bit of a workplace crisis going on. I'm still writing, but I don't have time to polish and publish. Chapters will return on a regular basis soon though!!**
