Chapter 735: Surname, Shangguan
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
The contents of the card caught Su Mo’s attention.
“Lower Lv 7, Book of the Sky Sword. One stroke breaks the firmament, and the sword Qi reaches the clouds; connect the Netherworld Path, and dominate to the last!”
There were few words on this card. Su Mo was thrilled after reading them. “There really is a Royal technique!”
His strength would surge again if he practiced a Royal technique!
“Deacon, what’s the price of this?” Su Mo asked as he pointed at the scroll.
The deacon was around 40 years old and had a smooth and gentle face.
“150 million Upper Spiritual Stones, or 150 thousand Supreme Spiritual Stones!” The deacon answered.
Su Mo froze as his eyes glittered and realized how cheap the item was.
Yes, it was cheap!
He had heard that a Royal martial arts technique was a hundred times more expensive than an Upper King martial arts technique, and had assumed that this one would cost at least 300 million Upper Spiritual Stones.
“Do you think that it’s very cheap?” The deacon saw Su Mo’s reaction and asked with a smile.
Su Mo nodded. Its price was so cheap, it was almost ridiculous!
“It’s because this Book of the Sky Sword is a remnant. Otherwise, it would have been collected by the Martial Arts Techniques Hall, and would not be sold here!”
“A remnant?”
Su Mo’s brow slightly furrowed. He had thought that luck was on his side that day.
“How many parts of it are missing?” Su Mo was unwilling to give up.
The deacon said, “More than a half of it!”
“And it’s still so expensive?”
Su Mo was speechless. Even a complete Lower Lv 7 martial arts technique was worth about 200 or 300 million Upper Spiritual Stones. They were selling this remnant at an unreasonable price of 150 million Upper Spiritual Stones.

The deacon shook his head and said, “Although more than a half of this book is missing, it still has three complete moves, so it’s totally worth it!”
He was not lying.
However, there were still several people who did not buy it because of the price.
This book had been on sale for a month. A large number of disciples had asked about it, and yet none of them had bought it.
“Three complete moves?” So Mu was quite swayed. Three was a decent number of moves to have. His Nirvana Swordplay only had four moves.
“I’ll take it!”
He did not think twice before he made his decision. As long as it could improve his strength, spending a few stones was nothing!
Moreover, he was incredibly rich, and 150 million Upper Spiritual Stones would barely put a dent in his wealth.
“Haha, deal!”
The middle-aged deacon praised Su Mo’s decisiveness.
He then handed the book over to Su Mo.
After Su Mo checked the book’s authenticity, he made payment for it with stones.
Feeling satisfied, he left the trading hall immediately.
Just as he stepped out of the hall, a round-faced youth in yellow clothes strode into the hall and went to the Martial Scroll counter.
“Deacon, I’ve thought it through. I’m buying the Book of the Sky Sword!” The youth told the deacon.
The deacon shook his head and said, “Sorry, Shangguan Yun. It has been sold!”
“What? It’s sold?”
The youth’s face lost its initial cheerfulness. He asked anxiously, “Who bought it?”
“I don’t know. I’ve never seen him before.”
“When was the book sold?”
“He just left!” The deacon pointed at the entrance of the hall.
Swoosh!
The deacon’s words had no sooner fallen out of his mouth than Shangguan Yuan had rushed to the entrance of the hall.

Outside of the trading hall, his gaze locked upon Su Mo who was striding away from the hall.
“Stop!” Shangguan Yun barked.
Su Mo had been heading to the Book Collection Pavilion, but was stunned by Shangguan Yun’s shout. He turned around and saw the yellow-clothed youth staring at him.
Su Mo was stupefied. “Who is he? What the hell does he want?”
Several disciples in the hall were alerted by the bark and had left the hall to find out what was going on.
“Kid, the Book of the Sky Sword is mine!”
Shangguan Yun strode towards Su Mo and threw a storage ring at him, saying, “This is 150 million Upper Spiritual Stones. Give me the Book of the Sky Sword now!”
Shangguan Yun’s command was stern and left no room for negotiation.
Su Mo’s expression turned cold. “God damn it. Why are these kind of su*kers everywhere?” he thought.
All he wanted to do was to quietly improve his strength at Emperor Xuan’s Palace. But there was always someone who prevented him from doing so.
“Clang! Clang! Clang!”
Su Mo ignored the storage ring which had fallen to the ground.
“Hum?”
Shangguan Yun raised his brows and his eyes flashed unhappily.
“Why don’t you take it? Are you refusing me?” he asked coldly.
“Why would I give what is mine to you?” Su Mo snorted before turning to leave.
“Stop!” Shangguan Yun thundered and swiftly moved in front of Su Mo.
He was determined to have the Book of the Sky Sword. There was no way he was letting it go.
Three days ago, he was interested in it but the price was too high, so he did not purchase the item.
“Don’t you know me?” Shangguan Yun asked as he stared at Su Mo.
In the Outer Palace, almost everyone knew him and was in awe of him. Even a Half Step to the Martial King Realm disciples was afraid of angering him.
Su Mo’s expression was thunderous. This guy was at the same level as he was. If they were outside the sect, he would have already killed the man.
However, being in the Emperor Xuan Palace, he did not want to make a scene.
“Why would I know you?” Su Mo answered indifferently.
Shangguan Yun snorted and said, “Seems like you’re new here. I’ll tell you why. My surname is Shangguan!”
“Surname Shangguan?”
Su Mo’s expression was blank before his eyes lit up in recognition.
“Does this guy have something to do with Shangguan Hao?”
“Is he Shangguan Hao’s brother or relative?”

A Fate Set in Stone (On Hold)
After dying and making his way into the afterlife, our protagonist happens to have a stroke of good luck. With the help of the substitute god of death, he's given a second shot at life in a world run by gods who probably played too many video games as kids. Monsters, magic, dungeons, bandits, and all that good stuff is there, except it turns out to be much different than Jed initially expected.(I picked some generic tags since this is my first story and I am not 100% sure where it is going to go. Mature warning is only there for some less-than-polite language.)
