Chapter 679: DisappointedTranslator: Transn Editor: Transn
While Su Mo was sighing, Zuoqiu Ting came from the pavilion where Holy Teal Dragon Sect stayed.
“Xun Yue, long time no see. How is everything going?” Zuoqiu Ting greeted Qian Xunyue with a smile.
Qian Xunyue certainly drew the most attention. She wore a moon-white dress and her long black hair trailed over her shoulder. She sat quietly like a fairy.
Not only many young men but also quite a few elder experts were fascinated by her beauty.
Everyone on the East Continent had heard of how beautiful the Fairy of the Ninth Heaven was, yet few of them had the chance to witness it.
Within their gazes burned with eagerness to engage with her, Zuoqiu Ting was the only one to greet her first.
“Great. Thanks for your concern, Brother Zuoqiu.” Qian Xunyue gave a gentle smile.
Zuoqiu Ting nodded. Then his forehead furrowed slightly at her aloof courtesy.
He continued, “Xun Yue, can I visit you after the meeting?”
Qian Xunyue, a little helpless, refused, “I’d love to, but I intend to seclude myself after the meeting.”
Her polite refusal was palpable.
“Ha ha, never mind. Let’s make it another day. There will always be time.” Zuoqiu Ting shook his head and bid farewell to Huangfu Qing and other peak masters before he left.
When he turned around, his smile faded immediately. A crafty look came to his eyes.
However, Zuoqiu Ting’s response had left Qian Xunyue perplexed.* “What does he mean by ‘There will always be time.’?”*
Su Mo watched disapprovingly as Zuoqiu Ting disappeared in his vision. “What a persistent man! He has been pursuing Qian Xunyue for decades and he still sticks to it.”
“Why would he be so obstinate? She doesn’t like you.”

Huangfu Qing, poker-faced, eyed Zuoqiu Ting and then shot a quick glance at Qian Xunyue. His mouth curved into a mysterious smile.
Time passed slowly. Soon the members of Thunder Mountain arrived. Thunder Mountain had almost dominated the Thunder Domain.
They all cultivated the power of thunder, so there were bolts of lightning flashing on them and this made their aura more destructive.
The party was very large as it was led by several elders and included more than 200 excellent young fighters.
Su Mo glanced around them and spotted a familiar figure. It was a gaunt young man in blue.
This man must be the one that survived from the fight for Demonic Sword. Su Mo recalled that there were two men who flashed with lightning at that time, and he had killed one of them and injured this one.
He did not know the man’s name, but he was sure that the man must be on the list of Top 1,000 Talents.
After Thunder Mountains took their seats, they started to study the early arrivals.
The man apparently noticed Su Mo and his eyes glittered with ruthlessness.
So far, with the exception of the Stars Swordplay Sect, the seven major forces had arrived. They were Celestialspirit Sect, Cold-blood Hall, Topmost Palace, Ninth Heaven Sect, Thunder Mountain, and Holy Teal Dragon Sect.
As time went on, some of them were getting impatient.
“Why is the Stars Swordplay Sect late?”
“They will come, won’t they?”
“I’ve been looking forward to meeting Wenren Tiandu!”
The place was buzzing with discussion. Su Mo’s brows drew together. “What’s the point of coming here if he couldn’t see Wenren Tiandu?”
Another hour had passed and they were on the verge of anger.
Stars Swordplay Sect finally came. Several people landed on the White Jade Square.

While being led by three elders, the sect only brought less than 20 disciples.
Su Mo soon fixed his eyes on a tall young man in the team.
The man was very good looking yet gave him a feeling as fierce as a sharp blade.
“He must be Wenren Tiandu,” thought Su Mo.
Then he heard the discussion around and knew he was wrong.
“Wenren Tiandu didn’t come!”
“He must have left for the Central Continent. I heard he was searching for opportunities.”
“Maybe.”
“Since Jian Chen is here, the Stars Swordplay Sect still has the odds in their favor.”
Su Mo realized that the man was not Wenren Tiandu, but Jian Chen.
This man came third in Top 1000 Talents in East Continent. Though weaker than Wenren Tiandu, he was still stronger than most people.
Su Mo was a little disappointed. He had intended to meet Wenren Tiandu from whom he wanted to learn more about Archean martial artists with multi-Spiritual Spirals.
Him not being here made this gathering kind of boring.
He would rather choose to leave here right now and find somewhere else to increase his level so that he could set off for the Central Continent as soon as possible.
But he could not, not with his Master Huangfu Qing present.
Now that the seven major forces were all here as well as the other small forces, the Blood Emperor slowly rose.
“Now I announce that the Talents’ Grand Gathering begins!”
His scarlet eyes moved over all the attendants before he added, “But I suggest we should settle the contest rules first.”
Seeing no disagreement, the Vice Palace Master Tai Shen gave his advice. “What about letting them challenge each other freely? It’s simple and easy.”
“I agree!”
“Me too!”
The elders from other forces all agreed with him.
This kind of competition also saved a lot of time as no one would casually challenge someone above him, which significantly slashed the time.
Blood Emperor nodded and said, “Well, I have no objection, either. Every participant is allowed to call for a challenge as they wish. I announce that the contest begins!”
Then he sat down.
Soon, a young man in black flew out and stood in the square.
The man looked old-fashioned. He was very tall and had a strong aura. He had reached Lv 7 True Darkness Realm.
“Let Cold-blood Hall start this off, shall we?” he said coldly as he glanced around the pavilions and looked for a proper opponent.
Soon his eyes stopped on Jun Wuxi, who was beside Su Mo.
“Jun Wuxi, you’re one spot ahead of me on the list! Let’s fight!” called the man.
Jun Wuxi was a little surprised. Being in the first fight was the last thing he had expected.

Ursus Ex Machina
Ozzy was a man of the wild. Raised in a remote village atop the world's mightiest mountain, he'd been taught to respect and revere the natural world. The realm he was born into had been there long before him, and it would remain there long after him. Sure, there was the occasional madman who threatened to destroy it, but such boasts were always empty. No one individual was actually capable of demolishing this beautiful blue-and-green ball Ozzy called home. No matter what terrible magics these villains wielded, they were incapable of causing permanent harm to the environment. Even if the planet was completely devastated, it would recover. Life would find a way to flourish, same as it always had. That was what Ozzy believed from the bottom of his heart, so he never once felt the need to save the world he loved. After all, it was never truly in danger. The world would be fine no matter what. The people were a wee bit endangered, but that was another story altogether. However, what would happen if Ozzy suddenly found himself devoid of his beloved wilds? What would the man do if the realm he knew - one of wonder, magic, and chaos - was replaced with a man-made environment of concrete, industry, and steam? Ozzy could never imagine such a thing happening, and yet that was his new reality. After losing a fateful confrontation with a mad wizard, he and his friends found themselves transported to a strange world so thoroughly alien that every waking moment feels like a fever dream. Separated and scattered to the four corners of this land, each of these adventurers will need to adapt, survive, and overcome if they hope to reunite. They would also need to do so quickly. The sooner they are able to find one another, the sooner they can figure out a way back home and have another crack at putting an end to the villain's plans. Whether such a thing was actually possible in a world with barely any magic in it was a valid concern, but Ozzy had more immediate things to worry about. For instance, why did the air smell like a perpetual forest fire? How did ships sail through the sky as if it were water? And most importantly, was the pavement he was hurtling towards at high speed much softer than it looked? Probably not, but a man could hope.
