Chapter 237: One vs. All
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
Su Mo found a tidy place in the center of the White Jade Square and once again sat cross-legged.
He patiently guarded the White Jade Square where the exit of Qinghua Rift would appear. No one would be able to leave without his permission.
Su Mo then took a quick look at his waist badge and became dazed by the ridiculously long number that was his contribution points.
But he did not pay attention to it. He had taken so many lives and contribution points that it seemed hard for him to be unknown to fame.
After a while, he activated his cultivation method and began to refine his genuine Qi.
Su Mo had been rapidly progressing. He had leaped from the Lv 5 Spiritual Martial Realm to the Lv 7 Spiritual Martial Realm in the Imperial City just a month ago, and now he had reached the Lv 9 Spiritual Martial Realm right here in Qinghua Rift.
Within merely one month, both his cultivation and strength had rocketed.
But his cultivation was relatively unstable, and the purity of his genuine Qi went down.
Therefore he could hardly break through to the True Spirit Realm, even if he maximized his cultivation.
In order to fully prepare for advancing into the True Spirit Realm, he had to refine his genuine Qi and consolidate his cultivation as soon as possible.
Time was running out. In fear of direct conflicts with Su Mo, the distant crowd also kept waiting.
Once the exit of Qinghua Rift was unsealed, they would think up ideas to flee.
They supposed that Su Mo wouldn’t dare bar the way once the exit was opened.
If the thousands of disciples participating in the trial test were forced to stay, Su Mo would be heavily punished by the elders outside.

…
Waiting patiently to unseal the exit, a dozen elders of the four sects stood outside Qinghua Rift.
“Hehe, Seventh Elder, good luck to your Gale Island disciples this time!”
Zhu Lixing, an elder of the Scorching Sun Sect, derided the Seventh Elder of Gale Island, implying that the Scorching Sun Sect would not let the Gale Island off.
“Humf!” the Seventh Elder snorted, saying, “they’re always lucky. May you have few casualties then!”
Zhu Lixing sneered and said, “Sure, our disciples won’t let you down.”
“I hope so,” the Seventh Elder smiled and said. He was still very confident in his Inner Gate disciples.
He had talents like Yin Lige, Ling Tianxiao, and Ouyang Ping. It would be impossible for the Gale Island to fear the disciples of the Scorching Sun Sect.
Zhu Lixing internally laughed at the Seventh Elder, “You’ll lose your confidence soon!”
Time trickled by.
After another hour, the leading elder of the Sky Rapier Sect, a solemn-looking middle-aged man, said, “It’s time to unseal Qinghua Rift!”
The others nodded. Together, the four leading elders then unsealed Qinghua Rift via a series of sophisticated incantations.
The space above gradually folded and twisted, and soon a gate in white light appeared on the cliff.
…
Inside Qinghua Rift, Su Mo suddenly looked up.
The space 10 meters above him began to fluctuate.
In the next instant, the space split and a gate in white light re-appeared.
“The exit’s there!” Someone cried out.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
The moment the gate appeared, three figures in red swiftly flew by from a distance.
The three disciples of the Scorching Sun Sect desperately rushed toward the gate of light above White Jade Square.
“Hehe, do you plan to ignore me?” Su Mo sneered and threw a punch at the three fleeing men. The fist radiance caused them to step back bleeding.

“Su Mo, don’t push it too far!” One man roared and rushed toward the gate again.
“Pushing it too far? You can also tyrannize me if you’re strong enough,” Su Mo disdainfully said and threw another punch with growing fist radiance.
Boom!
That disciple was bloodily killed by the punch in an instant.
The other two fellows were both frightened by their partners’ hasty death and immediately retreated. They dared not attempt to escape again.
After taking the storage pouch from the dead man, Su Mo said to those who had been pillaged by him, “You can go now!”
Just then, the 200 or so disciples quickly rushed to the gate of light.
As did Ling Muchen.
Su Mo then looked at the distant crowd and said loudly, “You can go at any time, as long as you surrender your storage pouches!”
Su Mo spoke in a flat voice but it delivered a stifling force.
“Junior Brothers, let’s rush out together!” Jian Wuyou stared at Su Mo and said to his fellow disciples behind him.
“OK, all of us shall do it together!”
Around 400 disciples of the Sky Rapier Sect responded and gathered together.
In the next instant, their figures swiftly flashed toward the White Jade Square.
“Let’s go too!”
“Let’s follow them!”
“Run!”
Disciples of the other three sects were all close on their heels.
“Haha, do you believe I’ll let you off?” Su Mo laughed and internally activated Devouring Martial Spirit.
Its devouring power was released in an instant and overwhelmed everyone.
Those that attempted to escape, decelerated at once due to their stagnant genuine Qi.
In the next moment, Su Mo’s arms blurred and became residual shadows. He threw 81 mighty punches on end with both fists.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Fist shadows swiftly flew all over the sky, flowing upon his targets.
“Dodge!” Jian Wuyou shouted, as he took the lead. He could not suppress his genuine Qi and was only able to muster a small amount of it to evade the attacks.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Other disciples followed suit at the same time and scattered around in a mess.
They could do nothing but dodge despite their number. With their genuine Qi in a mess, they could not come up with a good move to parry Su Mo’s attack in a short time.
They would be sitting ducks had they not tried to dodge!
Ah! Ah! Ah!
Screams lingered on, for it was impossible for the throng to completely avoid the permeating fist shadows.
Several weaker martial artists died instantly, and almost 60 stronger ones were severely injured.
Su Mo was already holding back because he did not want to kill too many innocent people, or else none of them would have survived.
“Don’t forget to make your decisions before the exit disappears!” Su Mo glanced around and exclaimed loudly again.
“Su Mo’s crazy, he’s totally mad! We have no choice at all!”
“What should we do? He’s too powerful!”
“Do we really have to stay here?”
“We should just surrender our storage pouches!”
Many disciples were looking pale and almost in tears, in fear of Su Mo’s dominance.

Disclaimers: No claim made by any character by the book should be treated as the author's or anyone else's opinion on any subject. Most likely, it was just the funniest thing the Author could think of at the time of writing. This book contains many references to other works. It will probably be best enjoyed by individuals familiar with at least some of the following: 1) Computer games2) Fantasy in general3) Science fiction4) Tabletop RPGs5) Conspiracy theories6) Corporation work life7) Long forgotten prophecies uttered millennia ago in almost as forgotten languages under a starless night three dusks before the great convergence8) Filling any government-mandated form9) School10) EnglishMy ultimate goal is to make as many people experience something akin to joy while reading (think ~a bit louder exhale through the nose). It doesn't mean every scene will be funny or joyful because that's not how this stuff works. I can neither confirm nor deny having any other hidden agenda outside of that. Crimson Gloom
Crimson Gloom. The time when the moon turns crimson, illuminating the landscape with its crimson glow. The time when the ‘doors’ to the Crimson Abyss open. One shall gaze into the abyss and gain its secrets and powers. Concurrently, the abyss also gazes into oneself, gaining one’s sanity and humanity. Dimensional rifts appeared spontaneously on Earth, bringing otherworldly demons along with the Crimson Gloom. Bloody battles were fought, noble sacrifices were made. Humans eventually sealed the rifts and successfully defended their homeworld. Alas, the seals were not perfect. The Crimson Abyss continued to exist, slowly influencing Earth and its inhabitants. Half a century of relatively uneventful years passed… humanity slowly descended into corruption, and the majority of them knew nothing of the effects of the Crimson Abyss. Is there only the dreadful gloom left to the world? Can one find brightness in the increasingly gloomy world? The youth who had gazed into the Crimson Abyss had no answer, nor did he care. He only wanted the Crimson Gloom to end, to forever seal the Crimson Abyss. A mistake and a twist of fate led the youth into a seemingly totally different direction. Will he forget his lifelong goal? Will he instead step back onto his initial path that he fervently pursued? Disclaimer: I do not own the image on the cover. Image edited on canva.com.
