Chapter 163: Miserable Cultivating with Su Mo
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
At dawn of the next morning, Su Mo walked out of his room and headed to the outer hall.
Seven of the top 10 in the Outer Disciple Competition would have the chance of cultivating in the Spiritual Pool today.
Su Mo was not sure what exactly the Spiritual Pool was, but he would not miss a chance to benefit his cultivation.
When he came to the outer hall, Ling Muchen and the other five were already waiting in the hall.
Duan Bingye coldly looked at Su Mo.
“Su Mo, congratulations! You won first place in the Outer Disciple Competition this year.” Lu Shaoyun and Fei Kuang went forward to greet Su Mo.
“Hehe, it’s just a title!” Su Mo smiled.
“Be it a title or not, now you have become the unbeatable top disciple of the outer gate!” Lu Shaoyun said with a smile.
“Hehe, by the way, what kind of place is the Spiritual Pool?” Su Mo smiled and asked.
Lu Shaoyun said, “The Spiritual Pool is a treasured site. They say it connects the channels underneath Gale Island, so it brims with Spiritual Qi.”
“Oh, a treasured place indeed!” Su Mo was surprised.
“Yes! This time I’m striving to reach Lv 7 Spiritual Martial Realm with the rich Spiritual Qi there.” Lu Shaoyun looked excited.
The First Elder entered the hall when they were talking.
“Follow me!” The First Elder said, glancing at the seven disciples.
“Yes!” They responded and followed him into the hall.
There, the First Elder opened a stone gate and stepped in.
The seven were close on his heels.
Behind the stone gate was a deep passage to the underground, which seemed bottomless.
The seven all followed the First Elder, and after 15 minutes, they came to a stone chamber.

The stone chamber was big; around 60 square meters.
They were greeted with rich Spiritual Qi the moment they went in.
In the middle of the stone gate was a pool that was less than 17 square meters in diameter.
The pool water was milky white. It was shrouded by mist and filled with Spiritual Qi.
“What intense Spiritual Qi!” Su Mo was astonished at Spiritual Qi in the pool, which was hundreds of times more abundant than outside.
He could not even imagine how far he would go if he cultivated here.
Su Mo had never seen such a treasured place full of intense Spiritual Qi.
“Well, the Spiritual Qi here is enough for you seven to absorb for 24 hours. Don’t waste your time!” the First Elder said.
Then, he left the stone chamber.
The other six silently walked into the Spiritual Pool.
So did Su Mo.
Su Mo immediately felt relaxed when he was shrouded by rich Spiritual Qi.
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
Fei Kuang and the other five sat cross-legged in the pool and released their respective Martial Souls, for fear of wasting even one second.
Duan Bingye and Ling Muchen possessed Martial Souls of the Rank 9 Human Class, while the other five all had ones of Rank 8 Human Class.
Their shining Martial Souls were fully activated to desperately absorb Spiritual Qi.
Continuous Spiritual Qi was flowing into them.
Su Mo sighed and also released his Martial Soul.
His Devouring Martial Spirit could be safely displayed so long as it did not devour blood essence and others’ Martial Souls.
Besides, it would be pathetic if he did not try to absorb such intense Spiritual Qi.
The giant Devouring Martial Spirit released nine yellow halos and floated behind Su Mo like a bottomless vortex.
As Su Mo activated his Martial Soul, the vortex behind him was rapidly whirling, as if it could absorb everything around it.

The Spiritual Qi in the pool immediately rushed to Su Mo and integrated into the six Spiritual Spirals inside him.
Su Mo operated “Primordial Qi Manual” to refine the absorbed Spiritual Qi.
At an astonishing speed, Spiritual Qi in the entire Spiritual Pool was flowing toward him.
The other six combined still could not match Su Mo’s speed.
“What?” Lu Shaoyun and the other five were all dumbfounded when they saw how fast Su Mo was absorbing Spiritual Qi.
Their cultivating was nothing compared to Su Mo’s absorption speed.
Even Duan Bingye and Ling Muchen, who possessed Martial Souls of the Rank 9 Human Class, absorbed Spiritual Qi far more slowly than Su Mo did.
“Damn it!”
“Damn, nothing will be left for us if we let him go on like this!”
They all turned ghastly pale and secretly cursed Su Mo, but they could do nothing but speed up and scramble for more Spiritual Qi.
Boom!
Su Mo felt his body relax as ceaseless Spiritual Qi swarmed into him.
It was much more exciting than devouring blood essence!
With his rapid absorption, Su Mo’s cultivation grew quickly.
His cultivation had been in the Early Lv 5 Spiritual Martial Realm.
Four hours later, Su Mo reached the Middle Lv 5 Spiritual Martial Realm.
Another four hours later, he reached the Late Lv 5.
After another four hours, he reached the Peak Lv 5!
By then, less than 10% of Spiritual Qi was left in the Spiritual Pool.
Su Mo grumbled. The Spiritual Qi left was not enough for him to make a breakthrough.
He thus began to cultivate his physical body and activated Elephant’s Strength Skill. A great many elephant shadows roared inside him and gradually enhanced his physical strength.
One hour later, all the Spiritual Qi had been absorbed by the seven people.
The pool turned into a clear spring without any Spiritual Qi.
Huff!
Su Mo smiled and took a deep breath, and then he stood up to walk out of the Spiritual Pool.
So did the other six.
However, they all looked grim, and glared furiously at Su Mo.
They would attack Su Mo if he were not so powerful.
“What’s wrong with you guys?” Su Mo asked, feigning innocence.
“Su Mo, you…!” Lu Shaoyun was about to lose his temper, but controlled himself.
He knew he was in the wrong to be mad at Su Mo. Absorbing Spiritual Qi depended solely on one’s abilities.
Su Mo only absorbed Spiritual Qi so quickly, because he was able to.
How could he vent his anger on Su Mo if he himself was slower in action?
Lu Shaoyun felt extremely upset.
He had planned to strive for Lv 7 Spiritual Martial Realm with the rich Spiritual Qi here.
Now, it was impossible for him to break through the realm because nothing was left for him.
The other five shared similar sentiments.

Hazelsong: A LitRPG Novel
Release Schedule: I will be moving to a set release schedule as of 1/1/2022. A new chapter will be released every Saturday at Noon EST. If I have time that week for a second chapter, I will leave a note on the Saturday chapter and post the second chapter on Sunday at Noon EST. An up to date character sheet for the MC Erik will also be posted on Sundays at 12:15 PM. If life happens and I am for some reason unable to write that week, I will post a blank chapter giving you an update on where I am with my writing. Saturday Noon EST: First weekly chapter Sunday Noon EST: Second weekly chapter (if I have the time) Sunday 12:15 EST: Updated character sheet Synopsis: Years after surviving a deadly accident, Erik struggles to come to terms with his painful disability. When offered the chance to playtest the world's first full immersion VRMMO, he wants nothing more than to retreat back into his secluded life, until he learns what Hazelsong really offers. An escape from the pain. Hazelsong is a world of magic and adventure, a place where friendships are formed, loot is won, and glory and fame are there for the taking. While the threats feel real and the stakes are always high, there is only one thing Erik is really in danger of. Forgetting which world is actually real. Story Themes: Hazelsong is a LitRPG novel that not only explores the fictional world of a realistic online fantasy realm but the life of a man suffering in silence from chronic pain and PTSD due to a significant physical injury and disability. Mental health is an important subject and we all know at least one person in our lives who has or is dealing with some form of mental illness. I plan on putting my best effort forward to represent these illnesses in a fair and accurate manner. Not as a cheap plot device to help make the protagonist more unique, but to help paint an accurate picture for those of us who have been lucky enough to not have to suffer in silence. About the Author: I am Ash Durra, general video game nerd and a connoisseur of fantasy and sci-fi of all shapes and sizes. Needless to say, I am not a professional author (B.S. and M.S. in Education, 8 years teaching). After really getting into LitRPG novels over the past several years, I found my way to Royal Road, which has inspired me to use my spare time to begin writing a story of my own creation. As this is a hobby, I am not writing and posting chapters on any kind of specific schedule at the moment, though my goal is to post on average 1-2 chapters a week. I am incredibly excited to share this story with others as I write it, and I look forward to any constructive feedback about how I can improve in my writing.
