Chapter 58: Top the List
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
Yan Xing stood up in a panic with a surprised look.
“Su Mo, you’re unexpectedly so powerful.”
With a sullen face and hatred in his eyes, Yan Xing said, “Today you hurt me. Someday, I’ll make you pay a high price for this!”
“Pay a high price? Do you have the ability?” Su Mo sneered.
“Hmph! We will see!”
Yan Xing grunted, and said to the other two, “Let’s go.”
Then he turned around and was to take the two injured people to leave.
This time Yan Xing had not only failed to kill Su Mo but was also wounded in the fight and lost some manpower. All of these made him very angry.
However, a wise man knew when to retreat. Now he was obviously no match for Su Mo. The only thing he could do was tell Su Mo’s news to Yan Qi, and it was impossible for Su Mo to be alive if Yan Qi beat him.
“Yan Xing, did I let you go?”
At this time, Su Mo suddenly shouted at the three men and stepped out to block their way.
The two disciples at Lv 9 Qi Cultivation Realm were flabbergasted and stared at Su Mo with vigilance as if they were confronted by a formidable enemy.
“Su Mo, do you dare to rob our Demonic Cores?” Yan Xing gnashed with anger.
“What I want is not only your Demonic Cores, but actually, also your lives!” Su Mo shook his head and said in a cold voice.
“Hahahaha!”
After being in a daze for a second, Yan Xing could not help laughing and said, “Su Mo, you dare to kill me? Do you know the consequences of killing me?”
Yan Xing had no fear about what Su Mo said and heaped scorn on him.
Just now, even though Su Mo stopped him, he only thought that Su Mo was going to rob their Demonic Cores and did not worry about his life at all.
But now, Su Mo said he would kill him, which made Yan Xing instinctively feel that it was funny.
“Oh, what consequences? Tell me.” Su Mo asked with interest, wearing a smile.

“If you kill me, there’ll be no place for you to hide in Gale Island, and you’ll die without a burial ground.”
Yan Xing sneered and continued to say, “My clan has many Inner Disciples and Outer Disciples in Gale Island. What’s more, there is an Outer Elder of Gale Island in my family, who has a distinguished status. After knowing all this, do you still dare to kill me?”
Then Yan Xing looked provocatively at Su Mo with a sneer.
This was exactly what Yan Xing relied on. Even an ordinary Inner Disciple would not dare to kill him, let alone Su Mo.
“Your clan is really powerful. No wonder you’re so confident!”
Su Mo understood why Yan Xing had nothing to fear and nodded his head.
“Well! Are you afraid? You’ll die for offending me.”
A trace of pride flashed in Yan Xing’s eyes. Seeing the expression of Su Mo, he thought Su Mo was afraid, and laughed. “However, I can give you a chance. If you kneel and kowtow to apologize and promise to be my servant, I’ll forgive what you’ve done.”
Yan Xing chuckled in his heart. “Even if you have strong power, it’s useless. Without a strong background, how can you fight with me?”
As long as Su Mo was his servant, he could have a hundred ways to torture him to death.
“What good advice! Yan Xing, you’re so ‘generous’!” Su Mo grinned, revealing a line of white teeth.
After hearing that, Yan Xing’s eyes shone and immediately he felt very pleased. If he knew that he could master Su Mo so easily, then why should he go to all the trouble!
“Haha! It’s a wise choice. Su Mo, you’re indeed a smart man.”
Yan Xing laughed and suddenly shouted, “Su Mo, kowtow to me quickly!”
Su Mo nodded and walked towards Yan Xing, saying nothing.
Looking at Su Mo’s behavior, Yan Xing was laughing and riding high.
But the two men beside him were looking down on Su Mo. They did not expect that such a powerful person could actually be so timid and cowardly. Just a few words could scare him into kowtowing for forgiveness.
Zhou Xin was also stunned by Su Mo’s behavior and felt disappointed. He originally thought that Su Mo was a somebody, but his conduct was so unbearable.

Even if he had powerful strength, it was useless if he was so timid and afraid of death.
As Zhou Xin was disappointed, changes came suddenly. Su Mo extended his palm and grabbed Yan Xing by the neck in a flash.
Su Mo’s hand had great power, as if an iron tong firmly pinched Yan Xing’s throat.
If his hand made a slight exertion now, Yan Xing’s throat would be broken.
“Hehehe!”
Yan Xing’s eyes suddenly bulged and his face became red and frightening. He wanted to speak but could only make the sounds “Hehe” in his throat.
“Yan Xing, do you know why you’ll die?”
Su Mo smiled and said, “You’ll die for your stupidity. Among the idiots I’ve ever met, congratulations, you top the list!”
“He! He! He!”
Yan Xing struggled to say something, but he could not. Because of the lack of oxygen, his face had changed from red to livid.
Su Mo’s hand firmly pinched Yan Xing’s throat, which made him stiff and lose his strength.
Consternation filled Yan Xing’s eyes because he knew that Su Mo could kill him easily if he had that thought.
Su Mo continued to say, “You’ve tried to kill me twice. Do you really think that I’ll let you go and wait for you to try and kill me again?
“Actually, you have a strong background. However, for me, that’s bullsh*t! What I hate most in my life is being forced. I’ll kill whoever forces me, even an emperor.”
Without hesitation, Su Mo tightened in his palm, and then a clicking noise was immediately heard. Unable to even scream, Yan Xing tilted his head and lost his breath.
The shape of Yan Xing’s dead body was very terrible. His eyes were like those of a dead fish and his face had already turned purple.
Until Yan Xing’s death, Su Mo did not give him any chance to speak.
Dropping Yan Xing’s corpse, Su Mo turned his eyes to the other two disciples.
When they caught a glimpse of Su Mo’s cold eyes, the two disciples shivered unconsciously. They began to realize that Su Mo was actually a Killer God, and how ridiculous it was that Yan Xing had wanted him to kowtow before.
“Run!”
Without any hesitation, both of them turned and ran. In just the blink of an eye, they already had run dozens of meters.
They did not escape in the same direction but tacitly ran in two directions, respectively.
In this way, even though Su Mo wanted to kill them, he could only kill one.
However, Su Mo did not immediately chase them but glanced at Zhou Xin, and said, “Zhou Xin, these two people wanted to kill you a moment ago, and you just let them run?”
“Ah!” Zhou Xin responded subconsciously and returned to his mind immediately.
Just now he had been disappointed with Su Mo, but he did not expect for Su Mo to launch a brutal surprise attack and instantly kill Yan Xing without hesitation.
From the beginning, he was not going to kowtow for forgiveness! It was clear that Su Mo had already decided to kill him.
“I’ll chase them now! Su Mo, I’ll repay you for saving me today.”
Zhou Xin looked at Su Mo gratefully and then chased one of the disciples quickly.
Seeing Zhou Xin leaving, Su Mo immediately freed his Devouring Martial Spirit to devour the blood essence and Martial Souls of the dead.
The reason why Su Mo let Zhou Xin kill them was just to send him away actually. He would not let Zhou Xin know the magical effect of his Martial Soul.
Including Yan Xing, seven disciples had died.
Their blood essences were completely devoured by Su Mo in a flash. However, only six of their Martial Souls were devoured, because Cao Lin had been dead for a long time, and the remaining Martial Soul had already faded away when Su Mo was devouring. However, it was not a pity for Su Mo.
Although the levels of the Martial Souls were all above Rank 6 Human Class, these levels were still too low for him, and they had no effect on the advancement of his Devouring Martial Spirit.
After devouring, Su Mo quickly took their storage pouches. Then he turned into a shadow and rushed into the forest to chase them.
The direction he chose was exactly the way that one of the disciples ran.
Su Mo’s purpose was not to kill the man but to follow him to find Yan Qi.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

The Edgars
A serial killer is wreaking havoc in a small European village, and Charles Edgar believes his estranged brother to be the culprit. But little does he know that a much darker truth lies behind the bloodshed; one that will bring betrayal and destruction to the entire Edgar lineage. (This is a one-act play. A (beat) indicates a pause in the dialogue.) Also, please feel free to rip this story apart in the reviews (if you're so inclined). I really want to improve as a writer, so any criticisms are more than welcomed.
