Completion Chapter 21

A driver picked me up from my apartment and drove me to the airport late that afternoon. He handed me my plane ticket and waited while I checked in at curbside. I tried to give him a few dollars.
"Mr. MacGregor took care of everything, ma'am. Have a safe trip."
Killian's money bothered me.
I needed to let the negative thought go, so I decided to treat this trip like a mini-vacation. My parents gave me an eReader as a Christmas gift two years before, so I downloaded the newest book by my favorite author. One of the only things I didn't like about college was the guilt I felt if I read for pleasure. Study, study, study was my mantra.
Of course, Killian bought me a first-class ticket. I felt truly spoiled, and after a brief argument with my subconscious, I again decided to enjoy myself.
The plane arrived in Seattle late that night. Killian had told me another driver would pick me up at the airport; my heart skipped a beat when Killian stood waiting outside the terminal. He looked delicious dressed in faded denim jeans, dark blue t-shirt, and a baseball cap pulled low over his head.
I noticed people watching as I drew closer. Killian snagged his arm around my waist, grabbed my bag, and kissed me. The taste of him filled my bloodstream, and I was home.
"Missed you, baby," was all he said after he pulled away much too quickly.
He guided me out of the airport and into a waiting limousine. I saw several flashes before the door closed and the car took off. I didn't have time to process what happened because Killian kissed me properly. He made sure I knew he missed me.
The hotel suite was enormous, but I didn't get a tour because we went straight to bed.
"I need a shower," I managed to get out.
"I need you," he whispered between nipping bites and licks to my neck.
That settled it. A shower could wait. A soft glow of light spilled from the other room, but the bedroom was dark. Our clothes hit the floor and my back hit the bed in record time. He hadn't really touched me yet, but desire threaded through my body, pooling between my thighs in anticipation.
"What the hell?"
Killian's hand had found the part of my body that wanted his touch the most and his voice startled me. Before I knew what he was doing, the bedside light came on and Killian stared at my freshly waxed bare skin.

"Fuck." He drew the word out.
Embarrassment flooded through me and I tried to cup my hands over myself. Killian grasped my hands and pulled them away.
"God, you're beautiful."
His words should have eased my mind, but they didn't. I was mortified.
Killian looked back into my eyes. "This changes things."
"Killian, please turn off the light."
"Why?" He sounded truly perplexed.
"You're embarrassing me."
He moved down the bed and slid between my legs, lifting my ass before placing my legs over his shoulders.
"Stop thinking, Legs."
His warm lips touched my bare folds. I could do nothing but sink my fingers into his hair.
He looked up and said between scrumptious licks, "I like when you pull my hair, I like when you scratch me, but god, Legs, I love when you scream."
And I did. Several times.
I now lay curled with my back against his chest. His fingers trailed from his newest favorite part of me to my knees and back up again.
"Waxing hurt," I said into the quiet room.
His laughter spread his warm breath across my cheek. "I'm surprised you went all the way. I liked you just the way you were, but this is unbelievably sexy." His lips brushed my jaw.
"Like you haven't had bare down there before," I scoffed.
He took his hand from my legs and grasped the back of my head, turning me to look at him. "I've never had you bare down there and that's all that matters. You have the most unbelievable pussy I've ever tasted. I would wade through inches of hair to get to it."
I giggled. He said the most outrageously perfect things.
I didn't get my shower until the next morning.

After a light breakfast, Killian left for practice at nine. I picked up and folded our clothes from the night before, and straightened the suite. The balcony looked over the Seattle skyline. The beautiful city was much cooler than Phoenix, but still not giving into fall gracefully. I decided to read by the pool.
The area was lightly populated, and I had a feeling a few of the women present were football wives or girlfriends. I heard their faint laughter until I became absorbed in my book and the rest of the world went out of focus. A large shadow and then a cool hand on my thigh made me jump.
Killian, freshly showered and looking good enough to eat, sat down in the chair beside me.

"You're damn hot in that suit, Legs."
I wore a cherry red bikini I'd found on clearance the year before. I preferred a one-piece, but I never had luck finding anything that fit the length of my torso.
His fingers slid under the strip of material at my hip and he leaned in, kissing me deeply.
"Get a room," came from close by. Laughter followed, making me realize several of Killian's teammates were also poolside.
His lips left mine and he whispered in my ear while he nuzzled my neck, "I like their idea, but I want to take you shopping for a dress. We're going out to dinner with Malory and Blitz tonight and I want to buy you something special."
Malory was flying in this afternoon and I was looking forward to seeing her, but I wasn't looking forward to shopping with Killian.
"I brought something that will work for tonight," I said as I placed a small kiss to his chin.
"I'm buying you a dress."
I moved my upper body away so I could look into his eyes. "No, Killian."
His playful look turned serious. "Yes, Rebecca."
He moved back and stood while reaching down for my hand. I made a grab for my cover up, but it slipped through my fingers. He picked it up when I was on my feet and placed it over my head, letting it fall down my body.
"Aw, Killian, my man, don't cover that up." More male laughter along with a whistle punctuated the air.
Mortified, I grabbed my eReader and started back to the room. The catcalls and laughter didn't stop. Had no one ever told him no? He took my hand and tightened his fingers when I tried to wiggle mine from his grasp.
The elevator ride was painfully silent. Looking down at my bare feet, I realized I left my flip-flops behind. As soon as Killian opened the door to the suite, his phone started ringing. I didn't think he'd answer it, because it rang several times, but then I heard, "Hi, Mom." He managed to soften his voice and keep any irritation he felt toward me out of it.
I went straight to the bathroom and successfully closed the door without slamming it. After all, it was Killian's mother on the phone.
I knew I was overreacting and I wasn't sure why. After adjusting the shower's temperature, I stepped in and let the water calm my emotions. My parents worked hard for everything they had. They taught me to do the same. I was proud of what little I'd amassed and prouder still of what I could get by on.
The shower curtain opened and a naked Killian stepped in. I turned my face to the water, refusing to acknowledge the thrill between my legs after such a quick glimpse of his body. He pulled me into his chest. The emotional assault I was fighting bubbled over and I started crying. It wasn't pretty.
"Shh, baby, don't cry. I'm sorry." He pulled wet strands of hair from my cheeks. "I won't buy you anything. I promise."
He made me laugh through my sobs. He turned me around and splayed his fingers on both sides of my face. One thumb ran over my trembling lips.
"You are so beautiful."
I didn't argue. There was no point. Killian saw a different me than the rest of the world did. His lips met mine. It was slow and thorough. Deep and all-consuming. He played and teased, leaving me gasping and wanting more. He pulled back and looked at me.
"Better?"
So many things went through my mind. Confusion, need, love. I'm not sure what made me say, "The guys cat calling and whistling embarrassed me."
He smiled and I touched one of his dimples. I'd wanted to do it for so long. We'd touched each other in such intimate places, but for me this was the most incredible. I don't even think he knew what I did.
"The team thinks you're sexy as hell and that I'm the luckiest man alive."
"You're teasing me."
"No, I teased them. I wanted them to look, but not touch. I don't know if I can stop doing it, but I'll try if it makes you uncomfortable."
I didn't have the heart to burst his balloon. His teammates couldn't possibly think me attractive, but his words still managed to make me feel special. It was impossible to stay mad at him.
"One dress."
I saw the words process and the exact moment he knew he'd won.
"Two."
Thirty minutes later, I agreed. I left the shower cleaner than I'd ever imagined I could get.
