"Hello there you three girls. Are you new here?" An old lady said as she hunched her way over to them using her walking cane.
"Ah yes we are." Sylvie replied to her.
"Ah, why hello then. I am the landlady here." The old lady quickly went to sit at the nearest bench.
"Ohh, hello then!~" Sylvie greeted her.
"Hello." Elise and Maria said after Sylvie.
"Since you three will be residing here, can you help me with something?" The old lady looked at them as she asked.
"Sure!" Sylvie replied instantly as she had nothing better to do.
"How about you two?" The old lady asked the two as both her eyes were closed patiently waiting for an answer.
"Sure, we are with her anyway. We also have nothing to do for today aside from find out who our roommate is." Elise and Maria both said in unison.
"Alright then, come follow me." The landlady immediately got off the bench as she started to walk towards the back of the girl's dormitory.
"Alright." Sylvie hummed as she slowly followed the landlady from behind, followed up by Elise and Maria.
"What do you need help with?" Sylvie asked her.
"Ah, you see these flowers here?" The landlady asked her.
"Mhm." Sylvie nodded her head as she saw the flowers in the flowerbed.
"These flowers have maintained their good shape and form over the years. However, I am too old now. I need help on keeping them preserved." The landlady started to talk about the past.
"Now that I am old and have no energy. I need someone to help me grow these flowers. Would you be kind enough to help me tend to them for today?" The landlady asked the three of them.

"Sure!" Sylvie answered immediately, as she had no idea how to water flowers but… It shouldn't be a problem, right?
"I love taking care of flowers!" Maria exclaimed happily as she was extremely liked to tend to flowers.
"Me and flowers have good correlations. They are apart of mother nature." Elise said.
"That's wonderful you three. The supplies are in that wooden shed right there. Just grab what you need. I shall go rest inside." The landlady said as she started to walk back into the girl's dormitory.
"Alright. Goodbye!" Sylvie waved at the landlady before she lightly ran over to the wooden shed.
"Alright then! So, how do we take care of flowers exactly?" Sylvie asked the two.
"..." The two of them just stared at her as if she was an alien.
"What? Why are the two of you looking at me like that?" Sylvie quickly turned around so she wouldn't meet both of their gazes.
"Sylvie, come here for a second." Maria said softly.
"Hmm?" Sylvie turned around once more as she slowly walked over to Maria.
"Elise." Maria said as she looked at Elise.
"Mm." Elise nodded back at her.
"Sorry about this Sylvie. But, it is necessary." Maria said slowly.
"Sorry for what? What is necessary?" Sylvie looked at them confusedly.
"For this. Ha!" Maria threw a punch towards Sylvie's face.
"Ah!" Sylvie panicked as she quickly ducked.
"Hup!" Elise than came from behind her as she held a bundle of rope before tying Sylvie's legs.
"Kya!" Sylvie cried out as she fell onto the floor.
"Gotcha!" Elise said as she tied up Sylvie.
"What is the meaning of this you two!" Sylvie said as she looked at the two of them with an aggrieved look.

"We can't let you harm the flowers." Maria and Elise both said in unison as they looked at her.
"How would I harm the flowers!" Sylvie asked them.
"You don't know hwo to take care of them. What if you were to harm them by accident?" Maria asked her.
"B-but! It doesn't mean I would necessarily harm them would it now!?" Sylvie cried out.
"However, I don't take chances! Mother nature is good to you, so why not be a good child and just stay silent." Elise said.
"Hic! You bullies!" Sylvie cried as she watched the two of them leave the shed and start tending to the flowers themselves.

Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.

Written in the tradition of American dime novels of the 19th century and the planetary fantasies of Edgar Rice Burroughs, Beyond Tomorrow is a pulpy first person tale of adventure in a future where the world itself has become an alien place. This LGBTQ adventure has a gay male protagonist and is non-explicit, in keeping with 19th century pulp writing. This work has been broken into sub-chapters for its posting here and will be updated regularly.
