Aiming To Be The Best Magician In The World! Chapter 27

"Whew, this place is really boisterous." Plutia said as she walked into a town that looked as if they were celebrating something.
"Of course! Don't you know!? The S ranked adventurer Kais is coming back to town! He was gone for nearly five years after taking on a quest!" A man that looked like a merchant said as he was setting up his stall on the side of the street along with many others.
"Kais? Who is that? Is he that great?" Plutia asked the merchant who was putting his items on display.
"Little girl, don't you even know how what an adventurer is? Seeing as you're still young you probably don't know much." The merchant said as he looked at Plutia who looked like a young girl.
"What's your name little girl? My name is John Pyon, I am a B-Ranked merchant apart of the merchant guild." John said as he waved a blue ID card indicating that he was a B ranked merchant.
"My name is Shiro, Shiro Neko." Plutia said as she walked over to the merchant so she didn't block anyone's way by being in the middle of the street.
"Alright, hello there Shiro Neko. So this is how the adventuring system works if you would please look here." John said as he pulled out a piece of paper while scribbling on it.
"When you first become an adventurer, persay you're under the age of 12 you will be assigned the rank X which you don't get an ID card but a wooden tag. These people will have this until they are past the age of 12 or if they can get the examiner to let them pass and attain the F-Ranked ID Card. Which is made out of copper for you to tell." John said as he drew what the tags looked like.

"Mhm." Plutia agreed as she's someone who basically helped create the Adventurer Guild many many years ago with one of her friends when she was under one of her alias which she faked her death so they wouldn't know she was immortal.
"Next, once you've completed 10 F-Ranked requests alone are you allowed to be tested to become a D-Ranked adventurer. The copper ID card will then turn into a stone ID card." John continued.
"Mhm, okay." Plutia agreed as she was peeking on Sylvie who was eating with her mother and her father through her other vision.
'Wow, they're eating without me… Can't wait until she grows up so she can 'randomly' meet me and let me eat with her family too.' Plutia thought to herself as she was jealous of being lonely.
"Ahem, little girl. Hello? Are you listening?" John waved at the dazed out Plutia.
"Ah? Yes yes, I am sorry. I was thinking about something." Plutia said as she snapped out of her daze and replied in a panic.
"It's alright. Anyway, after becoming A D-Ranked Adventurer you can become a C-Ranked Adventurer after taking and completing 10 D-Ranked requests alone before being tested." John said once more.
"After becoming a C-Ranked your ID card will become made out of silver." John continued.
"After you become a C-Ranked adventurer after completing 10 requests, you can choose to stay as a C rank or become a B ranked adventurer where you can be forced to go to any requests at any time during an emergency." John said.
"This is why many people don't want to advance to B rank unless they are just show offs." John said as he clicked his tongue.
"Really hate these show offs, they usually run away when they face danger anyway." John said as he continued.

"A B-Ranked adventurer will not get tested off by their request completion. They will be tested when deemed strong enough to become an A ranked adventurer and
enough. As A-Ranked Adventurers will be the leaders if theres an emergency. So many strong B-Ranked Adventurers can't advance to A rank due to that." John said.
"Did you get any of that?" John asked Plutia who seemed as if she was staring into space.
"Yes yes, I did. Please continue." Plutia said as she was bored to death listening to this merchant about something she knew since she created it basically.
"By the way, when you become A B-Ranked adventurer your ID card will turn blue like mine. As no one is going to spend money to have any ores higher than silver as an ID card which is pretty dumb. Since many theft would be going around just to sell the type of ore. An A-Ranked Adventurer will have a red ID card." John continued as he explained about the color of the cards.
"And the highest ranked someone can attain is the S ranked excluding the SS rank." John said.
"So he's one of the strongest people in this world excluding those godly SS ranked people. There were only five SS ranked people in this entire world. Two of them have already died already, the two that died were the creators of this Adventuring Guild and system by the way. One named Lina Trou (Aka Plutia's First Alias) and Melissa Neru. They were both magicians who took on an evil god before dying." John said as he recalled the many myths and stories of the two legendary SS ranked adventurers.
"Anyway, the S ranked adventurer is proven by a medal instead of an ID card. They have a gold medal with their face on it and their information. They wield tremendous power and are able to fight with dragons." John said.
"To become an SS adventurer you'd basically need to save an entire continent or something like that or the world. And these godly beings are usually somewhere in seclusion as no one has spotted them in the past 50 years." John said as he tried his hardest to remember.
"You get all of that?" John said as he stopped thinking and looked at Plutia who looked as if she would fall asleep at any time.
"Yes yes… Thank you, I'll be going now…" Plutia said as she walked away from his stall really quickly as if she couldn't stand him anymore.
"What's up with her?" John said confusedly as he looked at the little girl that walked away really quickly.

A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.

Contact First
2039 - Earth A narrow beam energy signal appeared aimed squarely at earth from the TRAPPIST system. The communication consisted of a layered set of repeating data over several thousand wavelengths. Over the next few months scientists discovered that the lower wavelengths carried an encoded numerical language which could then be used to interpret the more complicated messages carried on the higher wavelengths. After half a year of painstaking work the signal was fully decoded. It described a small satellite launched along a precise trajectory towards the fourth planet of our solar system. Included was a package of advanced research that humanity would need to have ready in order to receive the satellite and decelerate it safely. The alien data provided the kick that humanity needed to turn from petty squabbling and unite to explore the final frontier. Major government and corporate leaders worked together to create the framework for the United Federation of Sol. UFS spaceports went from scaffolding to daily launches in every major city around the globe. Ships floated like dandelion seeds, spreading on solar wind to grow into colonies. 2397 - Mars orbit, Egeria Station The command center was a hive of activity as checks were conducted and systems initialized. Scientists flitted by like mayflies as communicators beeped and holoscreens spat out green tinted readouts. Nervous energy was thick in the air as everyone anticipated the culmination of over three hundred years of work. Massive fusion reactors under the planet's surface thrummed with barely restrained power as energy fed into a gleaming metallic maze criss crossing the planet. Metal fingers reached up, overshadowing the mighty olympus mons and trying to grab the stars. All over the solar system, people quickly turned to look as gigantic energy lances shot from the dusty fourth planet. Two years later. The same people that clapped loudly at the successful activation of project Hermes now wait with baited breath. A silver capsule trailing bright photonic sails is captured by a net of grav beams and guided with care bordering on reverence into the station. Holoscreens across the headquarters project an image of the sleek craft settling in the bay. Data connections are established and the holoscreens blink to white. Slowly an image forms on the screen. Across the headquarters people stare in wonder as a wholly alien face stares back. "Contact established. Welcome to the universe."

The Brotherhood Archive:Crossroads(Revised)
All people great or small have a story - Patriarch Lord Theris'Heron Soletus, was on the verge of becoming a warden in the Dias Brotherhood until his father holds him back. Instead of proving his skill with culling monsters that plague the land, he is given an assignment different assignment. It isn't one that test doesn’t test his physical strength, but his strength of character. He is paired up with a shy and traumatized boy name Mien. Between Mien’s anxious behavior and the crime he committed, Soletus doesn’t know what to do or what to think. However, when Soletus’s resolve to help starts to waiver, Mien does something unexpected and Soletus decides that the boy deserves a second chance not as an act of duty but as a friend. Hy'Ruh-Ha is a what I consider a chronicle fantasy. It is a fantasy drama coming of age story inspired by slice-of-life stories I've read and watched. It is heavy on the slice-of-life and does move slow. It is low-stakes fantasy. This particular story is romance free.(2 out the of 4 is re-uploaded under this title) And if you are someone who cares, the POV character is asexual. Crossroad(formally labeled as the intermission stories)- is a novella collection continuing the tale where Hy'ruh-Ha. The collection as followed: Wolf- After spending several months in the swamp post, Oeric'Sheldmartin returns to repair the chasm between him and his son, Soletus. However, a ghost from his past comes to haunt him and could ruin the life he's made completely. Note: Wolf is a bit of a character piece. POV character is Oeric. The Priest and the Priestess- A novella written in the POV of Mien and then Kiao after a series of unexpected events that change their lives. Mien's POV- Mien has spent the last couple of years working not only in the infirmary but training to become a combat chanter as part of his penitence. Then one day, a drug addled elf comes into infirmary and changes his perspective of a friend and puts his knowledge to the tests to figure out a mystery effecting children in town. *Spoiler warning* Kiao's POV- Kiao spent most of her time in the infirmary living the same daily secret filled life and until Mien changed it. Now she has to figure out her future in ways she never thought she would. I'm going for a Tues and Thurs day schedule for the re-upload. I may or may not stick in extra days.
