Lu Yumo left immediately after he spent some lovey-dovey time with Zhou Tingting.

Inside the classroom, Zhou Tingting’s group was so exasperated that they felt as if somebody had slapped them across their faces. One of the girls glared furiously at Fu Zhi as she snarled, “You don’t have to act so high and mighty just because you own a pair of limited-edition shoes. There is nothing to be proud of. It’s not like we don’t have any limited-edition items in our houses whatsoever!”

“She just stayed quiet earlier. Who knows what she was thinking? If she’d told us sooner, we wouldn’t have spent so much time on a country bumpkin like her!”

Tian Nuo turned to look at Fu Zhi as well, her face livid with rage. She had never expected that a hick like Fu Zhi could afford a pair of limited-edition shoes.

Right now, she seemed more like a poor orphan than Fu Zhi.

Even though she was jealous of Fu Zhi, she did not allow this emotion to get the best of her. Tian Nuo was not satisfied with Su Xing’s input. “What’s the matter with you? How can you compare Zhou Tingting to Fu Zhi?”

Tian Nuo was stumped. She glanced at Zhou Tingting and noticed that her face had turned even darker. Her heart somersaulted inside her chest as she spun to face Su Xing and snarled out at her, “It’s none of your business! Just stay out of this!”

Su Xing shuddered like a frightened rabbit.

Fu Zhi lifted her head, looking coldly at Tian Nuo. “Don’t you think you have gone overboard?”

Her voice was not emotionless anymore. It was cold, and there was a hint of anger in it. She stared at Tian Nua with her clear eyes as she tapped her finger rhythmically on the table.

‘Why? Is she going to hit me?’

Tian Nuo’s heart skipped a beat. She recoiled and took a step back, trying to get as far away as possible from Fu Zhi. Then, the next thing she saw stunned her to the core.

Fu Zhi did not do anything. She just pulled a textbook out of her drawer, but it took a long while for Tian Nuo to come back to her senses.

‘There is nothing to be afraid of! I have bought insurance!’

She opened her mouth, but before she could say anything, Zhou Tingting walked over and stood in front of her. She studied Fu Zhi from head to toe as she said, “We’re classmates, and we were just messing with you. There’s no need for you to take it to heart and get upset with Tian Nuo.”

Fu Zhi did not reply instantly. She held Zhou Tingting’s gaze for a while before replying, “In my perspective, something can only be called a joke when both parties are laughing. Did you see me laugh just now?”

Zhou Tingting froze. She could see out of the corners of her eyes that everyone was looking at her disapprovingly. Her eyes went red around the rims, and just as she was about to say something, the bell rang and their language teacher entered the classroom with a pointer in his hand.

“We’re going to write an essay today. Go back to your own seats. Class commissary, please help me distribute the essay papers to each student.

“What are you doing, Zhou Tingting? Didn’t I already tell you to go back to your seats? Are you deaf? Why are you standing there like a pole?”

Zhou Tingting did not know what to say.

Their classes ended at 5:30 pm.

Fu Zhi entered the Lu Family’s car and saw that Xu Wei was on her phone.

“He’s not answering my calls or replying to my messages. He keeps avoiding me, and even though he told me that he wanted to focus on his studies, I wonder if I will be able to see him graduate from high school before I pass away.

“I’m not being paranoid. I’m just worried about him.

“Alright, that’s it. My daughter is here. Let’s continue this conversation when I get home.”

She was talking about Lu Yumo.

Xu Wei hung up the call with her brows deeply furrowed in a worried frown.

Fu Zhi, who was sitting next to her, looked over at her with concern.

The gloom in Xu Wei’s heart dissipated the moment she saw her daughter. She tousled Fu Zhi’s hair and said, “Don’t worry about mommy, she’s fine. How was your school day? I heard from your cousin that all the teachers in Class 1 are very good. I’m sure that you will be able to get into a good university if you study under their guidance.”

It occurred to Fu Zhi that Xu Wei still had no idea that she had been transferred to Class 21.

She fell silent for a while before replying in a soft voice, “Actually, there is not much of a difference for me.”

The two of them continued to talk, and the woman suddenly remembered something. She said, “Oh yeah, I received a few parcels this morning. Since they are yours, mommy has moved them into your room.”

She paused for a while before she added proudly, “I moved them all by myself, but I didn’t open them!”
