Yan Xiaoran looked on at him with surprise. If he hadn't told her who he was, she would've never recognized him and thought that he was some stranger trying to get her attention.

She wasn't being too conceited but Yan Xiaoran had several men who would hit on her and try to get under her skirt. That was why she never tried to get closer to any man who would eventually take her intentions wrongly.

"Mr. Shen. It's nice seeing you again." She told him and flashed him a beautiful smile that could make hearts flutter at the sight of it.

Shen Liu was the first man who welcomed her when she first came out of prison. At that time, the course if event could still make her laugh. Alexander's grandfather ordered his secretary to fetch her and talk her to marry his grandson whom she never met.

Of course, at that time, she was clueless who was this grandson he was talking about and because of the chance offered to her during her days of being holed up in an endless darkness, she readily agreed to the condition in exchange of inheriting most of Mr. Qu's wealth.

Now thinking about it, she wasn't quite clear with the situation between her husband and Mr. Qu.

"Were you also dining here?" Yan Xiaoran asked politely.

Shen Liu nodded. "Yes. I had some free time after a load of work and ended up to this restaurant."

"Well, you're working with the richest man in the country so it might be a miracle you could get some time off to yourself." She told him.

However, Shen Liu laughed and shook his head as if he heard a funny joke.

"Did I say something wrong?" She asked to which he answered with a smile.

"No. Well, actually… I'm no longer Mr. Qu's secretary." He said.

That was news to her. Yan Xiaoran didn't think that Shen Liu would let go of such a great job which pays a lot and under the richest man in the country. Just from the benefits he would get from hanging around Mr. Qu and meeting all these big bosses in the country, he would surely get a high position in this life.

As if he could read the thoughts crossing over her mind, Shen Liu explained directly. "I resigned from my position as a secretary to inherit my father's company. Being Mr. Qu's secretary was only one of my father's tests for me to see if I was capable of handling myself."

"By the way… are you dining alone?" Shen Liu suddenly asked her. "If you are, is it okay if I invite you to eat with me?"

Yan Xiaoran hesitated. But she soon agreed. There was no harm in dining with a friend she's never seen in two years. Besides, he doesn't seem to think of anything about her for her to worry.

"Sure. I should be able to spare half an hour to dine with you." She told him and invited him to the private room she reserved. The buyer she was expecting to come would come in an hour anyway.

Once they were seated and told the waiter their orders, Shen Liu first opened his mouth to engage in a friendly conversation with her.

"I'm actually curious about one thing." He started.

"About what?"

"Well… that night when you left, what happened? Why did you suddenly disappeared?" He asked her.

That time, despite saying that he wouldn't search for her anymore, Mr. Qu still ordered a bunch of people to look for her. Even Shen Liu had to push back Mr. Qu's schedule and leave his spot just to look for her. As for the reason why the old man suddenly changed his thoughts, he wasn't clear about it.

Alexander was the only exception as he didn't give up on her and stayed with her even after years of separation.

Ny father was once a film director and created his own entertainment studio but later established a bigger company. The name of the company is Ace Star's Studios. "

Ace Star's Studios? Yan Xiaoran was shocked. That entertainment company came out to the top and reigned the other companies in this period. It held a very good reputation and the actors and actresses who was under their care were all outstanding people worthy of the award that they received annually.

"You're the CEO of Ace Star's Studios?"

Shen Liu nodded his head and continued, "I initially didn't want to inherit the company from my father… but someone changed my thoughts."

Like a lady from the market ready to bite the latest gossip around, Yan Xiaoran stared at him eagerly for him to divulge his secret.

Yu Ren? Yan Xiaoran tried to narrow down the actresses with that name but found only a few actresses and they're all at the age past 50…

The only person who was named Yu Ren and who was also the youngest amongst them was not an actress.

With wide eyes and slacked jaw, Yan Xiaoran exclaimed. "You mean… Yu Ren?… The actor?!"

Shen Liu nodded his head to confirm it.
