In a hotel suite.

After exchanging words with Yan Xiaoran, Zhao Shuxin went back to the hotel room and slammed the door.

She was too angry to care about the room service and other hotel guests who passed by their door and had it closed in their faces.

Yu Jin Yan emerged from the bathroom and looked surprised to see Zhao Shuxin, "You're back early."

Because the Zhao family had to limit their expenses, Zhao Shuxin and Yu Jin Yan had to share the same room. Even though both of them didn't like each other but after two years of staying in the same family manor, Zhao Shuxin and Yu Jin Yan learned to tolerate each other's presence.

Zhao Shuxin glared at Yu Jin Yan and snarled, "Why? You want to hog the suite that much and expected me to sleep somewhere else?"

"I didn't say that." Yu Jin Yan frowned. She wondered what happened that made Zhao Shuxin act cranky right now.

Could it be that she woke up on the wrong side of the bed?

Yu Jin Yan proceeded toward the vanity and sat down. She dried her hair with a towel while Zhao Shuxin threw her Hermes bag to one of the two beds in the suite.

She could see that Zhao Shuxin's face was so dark that you could squeeze some ink there. She was too angry and filled with venom.

Whatever happened at Zhao Shuxin's end, Yu Jin Yan didn't want to get involved. They never try to interfere with what each of them was doing and they would like that to stay forever.

However, Zhao Shuxin kept sending glares at Yu Jin Yan's back. She was curious whether she knew that Yan Xiaoran was Madam X and that they already reconciled.

Although she already heard it from Yan Xiaoran's mouth that she didn't care about her mother, Zhao Shuxin didn't want to put her guard down. She was thinking that what if Yan Xiaoran only told her that so she could throw her off and make her believe that the two of them didn't have any contact with each other?

Besides, she can't believe that Yan Xiaoran would easily forget about her mother and must still have some affection towards Yu Jin Yan since she's her mother.

Grabbing the pitcher on the bedside table, Zhao Shuxin poured herself water before she drank it.

"Yu Jin Yan... have you ever wondered where Yan Xiaoran was?" Zhao Shuxin began as she looked through the mirror to see what kind of reaction would Yu Jin Yan wore in her face.

"Yan Xiaoran?" Yu Jin Yan sounded as if she can't remember whose name it belonged to then, she laughed. "Why would I wonder about her welfare?"

"She's your daughter." Zhao Shuxin said a matter of factly in return.

Unfortunately, Yu Jin Yan found this funny and said, "I only have one daughter and that is Zhao Yurong. That brat already disappeared from our lives and might be rotting somewhere else."

After Yan Xiaoran's release from prison two years ago, Yu Jin Yan and Zhao Shuxin worked together to look for Yan Xiaoran so that they could dispose of her and keep their sinister heart from the public.

Aside from that, Zhao Shuxin didn't want Yan Xiaoran to get out of her jail. She treated her as if she was an animal that needed to be kept to a zoo or a cage forever.

But who knew that even after hiring some private investigators, no one found where Yan Xiaoran was. Even some of her records in Qinglu prison was erased. It was so mysterious how everything that could lead them to Yan Xiaoran disappeared and not only that. Some of Yan Xiaoran's data and important papers disappeared or deleted from the nation's record.

Even her pictures in some of the news articles and on the internet were taken down.

In the end, the two of them stopped searching for her and lived their lives to the fullest. Zhao Shuxin kept her position as President of the Zhao Enterprise and Yu Jin Yan managed to produce another child in her womb despite her age.

On the other hand, even after a few years of being married to Luo Jin, Zhao Shuxin still hadn't able to produce any child or heir. The Luo family had been urging her to get pregnant but it seems that there was too little possibility of her getting pregnant at all when her husband was too busy bedding other women behind her back while using the excuse that he's too busy in his office.

Zhao Shuxin observed Yu Jin Yan's face for a moment before lying back down to the bed. Trying to figure a person's lie with their face was difficult for her.

If she really wanted to know the truth and see if Yan Xiaoran still cared for Yu Jin Yan, she has to make them meet each other.

That is the only way to tell whether her suspicions are right.

Besides, what if Yan Xiaoran gives up her rights to the shares once she saw her mother once again?

Thinking like this, Zhao Shuxin was determined to make the mother-daughter pair meet again.

To Zhao Shuxin, Yan Xiaoran was still the same woman in the past that she could easily manipulate. After her plan to take the shares from Yan Xiaoran through Yu Jin Yan, Zhao Shuxin would eliminate Yan Xiaoran from the picture and make her disappear forever.

Thinking like this, Zhao Shuxin's nerve finally relaxed.

Sadly, she misjudged her opponent this time and that she was too caught up in the past and didn't learn from her past at all.
