Seeing the man walking closer to her, Yan Xiaoran immediately retreated backward and looked at him dubiously.

Her eyes were filled with apprehension and caution.

"Mister, do I know you?" Yan Xiaoran asked.

When he heard her say those words, Alexander Qu paused in his stride and looked at her face as if he was searching for something from her face.

'Did she really forget about me?' Alexander Qu thought and could hear his heart shattering, however, his face didn't show any emotions as he continued to gaze at her.

The two of them should meet at the Majestic Ball, but unfortunately, Yan Xiaoran disappeared from the party even before they could meet.

As far as he knew, Yan Xiaoran should be under his grandfather's care after her release from prison. So, why was Yan Xiaoran out when the night was late?

Looking at her wet hair and tired look, Alexander Qu was distressed at her situation.

How could he not feel anything when the woman he had a one-sided love for a long time was running on the road with speeding cars passing through and a man chasing after her?

He offered her a smile and said, "We missed the chance to meet, Miss Yan." Not allowing her to speak, he continued as he offered his hand for a handshake, "I am Alexander Qu, your fiance."

Didn't Robert Qu tell him that she rejected the proposal? Yan Xiaoran frowned and swallowed hard to talk about this matter.

"Are you alright?" Alexander asked her, his tone was gentle and pleasant to the ear that it almost choked the person on the driver's seat.

With bulging eyes, Xiao Gui used the rearview mirror to look at his boss who was trying to talk to the young woman beside him in the passenger. He was extremely petrified at this boss he was seeing right now.

On the other hand, Yan Xiaoran was uncomfortable with how gentle Alexander was to her. After she ditched him in the party and didn't show up, Yan Xiaoran expected that he would be angry at her and would personally end his grandfather's lunacy to make both of them marry.

However, the man beside her was looking at her too much care that it was hard to look back at him.

Clearing her throat to catch his attention, Yan Xiaoran said, "I'm alright… Uh… I'm sorry about earlier and the last night." She took a pause to look at his reaction and expected him to get angry, but unexpectedly, a gentle look was spread across his face.

Seeing her being conscious of his reaction, a gentler smile was on his face as he shook his head and reached out to pull her hands to which she avoided.

Slightly saddened at her rejection, Alexander looked at his hands that were on the air and retracted it, "It's alright. There will be always a time for us to get closer."

Yan Xiaoran confusingly stared at him and was speechless.
