Yan Xiaoran flawlessly wiped her mouth with a table napkin after they had finished eating.

The other three men who were inside the room, eating, also finished.

'RING!"

Shen Liu pulled out his phone and looked down at it before he said, "Excuse me for a second." After saying so, he stood up after seeing Robert Qu nodding his head and left the booth.

Yan Xiaoran followed his figure as he left and heard Robert Qu from beside her, "My secretary is much busier than me, his boss. All my potential business partners always use his number to call him because his face looked quite inviting. Do you think I need to replace him and find a new one?"

Yan Xiaoran looked at him with a side glance.

Not mentioning Shen Liu's duty to screen all calls received by his boss, Shen Liu was not only responsible to properly present himself publicly, he also needed to be prepared and try to be in connection with the other potential business partners.

Shen Liu's face was handsome and presentable. He had a very welcoming presence exuding from his body, completely different from his boss who looked like he could be a great General in the distant past.

But after hearing her say that she didn't like him , he felt relieved and pleased. Robert Qu didn't care whether the word she said was the truth or not since he believed her words that she didn't like Shen Liu.

While Robert Qu was celebrating with the fact that Yan Xiaoran didn't fall for Shen Liu's charm, Yan Xiaoran sat stiffly on the chair.

She looked at Robert Qu and asked rather stiffly, "What did you just call me?"

Robert Qu blinked at her and repeated, "My granddaughter-in-law."

Yan Xiaoran's mouth hung open as she tried to search for a different meaning of the word 'granddaughter-in-law'. But she found nothing. She tried to associate it with military codes or other words she could come up with but still, nothing came out.

'Okay, let's ask him again.'

"Can you repeat it? I think I suffered from a short term hearing loss." She explained.

Robert Qu chuckled at her reaction and said once again, "My granddaughter-in-law."

"Okay wait." Yan Xiaoran held up her hand, "I don't think I remember becoming your granddaughter-in-law and I swear to God, I never married any one of your grandsons."

"Ah… Of course, since you and my grandson haven't walked in the altar yet." Robert Qu said matter of factly.

Making Yan Xiaoran's headache more as she continues with this matter.

He didn't provide her an explanation to what he was saying and thus, Yan Xiaoran ignored his dementia and said, "Well, I think we need to talk about more important things and tell me about the reason why you want to meet me and why you reduced my sentence three years ago."

Robert Qu raised his full eyebrows that have a few grey hairs mixed with it, "Ah, that is because I simply pitied you".

This time Yan Xiaoran exhaled and inhaled greatly, trying to calm herself up and avoid exploding. She was just released from prison and didn't want to be in any kind of game.

"Miss Yan, you shouldn't be too impatient and leave." His tone was serious and his eyes that were laughing earlier were gone and only coldness was left, "It's true that I lessened your sentence for three years out of impulsiveness. However, I also have some reasons."

Yan Xiaoran paused and raised her head to look at him. She waited for him to say his reasons and get this over with.

Robert Qu sighed and took a folder under the table which he gave to Yan Xiaoran, "Whatever you read inside, you must never tell anyone."

What does he mean by that? Yan Xiaoran hesitated to take the folder from him.

Seeing her reluctance, Robert Qu chuckled, "You want to know the reason why I helped to lessened your sentence, right? It's all inside the folder."
