"Fuck!"

Nicole screamed and threw a glass dolphin paperweight from the table as soon as she ended the video call. She ended the call because Noah left the conference room after he got the confirmation that she would leave Lucille Yue in his care once she left for Switzerland.

She expected him to show some excitement or at the very least, be thankful that she wasn't going to take Yue to another country. But no, Noah was just as smug as ever!

She also hated the fact that Noah had his best attorneys in the room as if he wanted to let her know he meant business. It was obvious to her that he is! She can tell by the look in his eyes that he will not take any bullshit from her.

And it irritated the hell out of her!

Noah had been busy with his neighbor that she found out, later on, was also an intern in his company. She couldn't believe Noah would have a permanent woman in his life after their divorce.

Her annoyance was boiling and she had no way to release her anger. She can't truly break things or raise her voice because the damn Noah hired a nanny for Yue. She knew Soraya wasn't just a simple nanny for Yue.

Noah hired that woman for a different purpose and her acting as Yue's nanny was just a pretense. She has to control herself because she knew that woman reports to Noah everything that happened inside the house, and she won't be surprised if she also reports to Noah other things.

She stood up from her office chair and poured herself a glass of wine.

She started pacing inside her office. Her move to Switzerland was not her personal choice. She was coerced to move to Switzerland, hence, she can't bring her Yue with her.

The Sparrow may promise that the group won't touch Yue, now that they have that woman living next to Noah's apartment as something they could use against Noah, but she still doesn't trust the group.

She knew how cruel they can be if they don't get what they want. They have a way of making someone agree with them. Just like what they are doing to her. She has no plan to move to Switzerland. She has a good life here in Shanghai. Noah provided everything they needed. She has full custody of Yue.

However, the group wanted her to be in Switzerland and she had no choice but to go to Switzerland.

She could bring Yue with her but she knew for a fact that Noah would fight her for it. And she is no longer confident that Noah won't make things difficult for her. And with the presence of his top lawyers in the conference in the recently concluded conference call, she was right in thinking that Noah would fight her for Lucille's custody.

She has no plan to jeopardize the full custody and alimony she has been enjoying from Noah.

And the move to Switzerland can be dangerous to Yue, hence, even if Noah would agree to let her take Yue with her, she won't. She may be a greedy and ambitious woman but she would never put her Yue in any form of danger.

She was on her second glass of wine when she decided to call Sparrow because her anger at Noah hadn't cooled down.

Her call was redirected to voicemail that fueled her rage, making her drink her second glass of wine in one gulp, then she poured another glass of wine and redialed Sparrow's number.

She waited for Sparrow to answer her call and she was ready to redial his number until he answered.

On her third try, Sparrow finally answered her call.

"Tell your boss that, I already agreed to do what they want." she slurred her words for she had already emptied the bottle of wine.

"Have you been drinking because of it?"

"I have to leave my daughter to her father!"

Sparrow sighed at the other end of the line. "You know that you can take your daughter with you," he said, gently.

"Can I? Noah had his lawyers -- lawyers!" she yelled at Sparrow. "His top lawyers were there in the room. He was gauging me to do something that he can use against me."

"Hey, don't worry about Noah. One of these days, he will fall down from his high horse. And, I will give you the front seat to watch it happen." He said in a harsh tone, laced with anger.

"And when is that day? You've been telling me that shit for so many years. You used my daughter so many times to keep him on his feet. To make sure that he would always look over his shoulder, but then, what?... All of it was nothing! He's still going to be the CEO of his grandfather's company!" she screamed! Already forgotten the fact that Noah had ears inside her house.

Not exactly her house. Because Noah was the one paying for this house and everything that she and Yue needed to have a comfortable life.

That's why she was so irritated that the group wanted her to be in Switzerland when she was having her best life here in Shanghai. She wasn't the only scientist they have but the group kept on asking for her service, they kept reminding her of what she owned them years ago.

The fuckers wouldn't let her forget how they helped her to advance her career!

"Everything was moving according to plan. Just do what they asked you to do since you'll be well compensated for it. And, regarding your daughter—Lucille Yue, leaving her with her father would give you some cookie points to Noah."

"Huh! You weren't there! He doesn't give a shit. He was ready to get Yue from me, by hook or by crook!"

"Noah would never do that."

"How can you be so sure?"

"Because I know him. I know his weakness and how his mind works." he laughed sinisterly.
