Capture The Blue-Eyed CEO Chapter 25

Jess woke up with a marching band playing an out of tune drumming in her head. She groaned and tried to bury her face on the pillow when her bedside table alarm started blaring one of the OST songs of the movie Kimi No Nawa.

She cursed under her breath, threw her blanket away from her body with enough force it fell into the floor. Her eyes were half-closed as she crawled to turn off the alarm because the whole freaking song was on a loop.

She was being smart that she thought it would be a good idea to put her alarm clock at the farthest side of her side table for her not to easily put it on snooze and went back to bed. Because to be honest, she did it so many times she ended up regretting it every time. Looping the song was also her bright idea to force her to get out of the bed.

But not today, with the pounding in her head, she was cursing herself for putting the damn alarm clock so far from her bed, and looping a whole song!

After successfully killing the darn alarm, she picked up the blanket that fell on the floor. She glanced at her bed, inviting her to lie down once again. She was on the verge of giving in the temptation when she heard a knock on the door.

"What?!" she snarled at the poor door.

The door was pushed and Luke peeked at her from the outside. "Breakfast is ready and I won't be home in the next few days," he said, informing her of his schedule.

"You found a new guy to break your heart?" she sarcastically asked.

"I hope so! My hole has been empty for so long, I'm thinking of pushing down one of my classmates on the cold laboratory floor." he answered back sarcastically, "But, it's the last run of my microbes testing, I would be living in the lab for a while."

"Hmmn," she waved her hand towards him and hauled her hungover ass to the bathroom. Luke talking about his experiment reminded her of the report she didn't finish writing last night because she let her emotion control her and the wine.

She scolded herself for being irresponsible as she stood under the frozen water. She gritted her teeth and let the chilling water drown the cobwebs of sleep in her brain.

When she was sitting on her study table to do the task she procrastinated on last night, she murmured another thanks for Noah's help. With her brain totally awake from the cold shower, she was able to finish writing the report in no time.

She glanced at the time on her laptop monitor when she felt hungry as she was finishing the last documents. The time was already quarter to eleven. The breakfast Luke prepared would be cold by now.

She finished the documents, made sure she saved them and backed up a copy, then closed her laptop. She stretched her arms over her head and made her way to the kitchen to see what Luke graciously prepared for her breakfast.

Cold ham and cheese sandwich was waiting for her on the kitchen table. It has a note that a fresh pomelo juice was on the fridge. She smiled fondly, thinking Luke was the perfect epitome of a lover.

Too bad his preference for a lover is someone she will have a crush on too.

She ground some Brazilan coffee beans and made herself a cup of coffee. She grabbed the cold sandwich from the table and brought them to the balcony. She needed the sun to chase the alcohol residue out of her system.

She was enjoying her coffee and cold sandwich when she heard her familiar ringtone blaring from the living room. She just remembered that Luke confiscated her phone last night. She left her sandwich but carried her cup of coffee to get her phone.

She saw the name of Tienfenbacher on the phone screen when she picked up her phone from the coffee table. She sipped her coffee, and with furrowed eyebrows opened the message from Noah.

She had two miscalls from him and three messages. She clicked her tongue on what could Noah wanted from her to call and message so early in the morning.

When she opened her phone she saw that one of the miscalls was from last night, the other call was just now. She checked his message, and they were just him asking her again to have a meal with him.

She recalled that she called him last night to accept his dinner invitation. But Luke took her phone and told her to accept his invitation without the influence of alcohol.

Now, she is totally sober, she asks herself if she still wants to have dinner with Noah. And her traitor self, said yes!

Though she wasn't in a hurry to agree to his invitation, she was thinking that the earlier she agreed to his dinner invitation the better. She doesn't want to keep on interacting with Noah. Not after what he did.

She went back to the balcony to finish her brunch when her phone rang in her hand and it was Noah again!

She watched the phone in her hand and counted the ring up to ten rings before she finally accepted the call.

"What do you want?" she snarled at him without letting him say anything. She doesn't feel like being civil with Noah after he did a background check on her.

"Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, Miss Zimmerman?" he asked in his sexy German drawl, heavy with the vowel sounds.

Her toes curled listening to his voice on the other line. "Let's just say I'm not enthusiastic to see your name on my phone as soon as I woke up."

He just chucked on her tantrum.

"Have you decided on accepting my invitation, Miss Zimmerman?" he asked with such a deep tone that made Jess think of things inappropriate to do in broad daylight.

"Yes."

"Yes, what?" He wasn't able to hide the excitement in his voice.

"Yes, I'll have dinner with you."
