She was about to burst into tears, but then she saw Luke demurely covered his gaping mouth with his hand like a lady, that she lost it and burst out laughing instead.

"Are you sure that he didn't remember you?" His forehead creased with curiosity.

"His eyes didn't show any indication that he recognized me. Unless he is such a good actor, I'm quite sure he didn't remember me."

They fell into deep thoughts for any possible reason why Noah didn't recall Jess at all. They were standing in the garden like a couple of marble statues for a period of time, and yet no reason comes to mind.

"You must be terrible in bed!" he suddenly exclaimed.

"I was a virgin. That doesn't mean I am an ignorant fool!" Jess kicked his shin and scowled at him.

"Well, I'm out of ideas. It's either he was pretending not to remember you, or you need to venture into different areas of study to collect data to improve your skill in bed."

"I can assure you that in any field that I have to be graded, I always make sure I got the first place." She scoffed with haughtiness.

Luke threw his head in laughter.

Jess hit his muscular arm, but it just made Luke roared in laughter. She decided to let him finish laughing his ass off before he asked him something that has been bugging her mind since that jerk Noah unmercifully humiliated her at the laboratory in front of everyone else.

If her teammates didn't already hate her assertive ass, she could just laugh it off. But in her team, they respect the fact that she is exemplary in what she does, but nobody likes her on a personal level.

None of them would consider her as a friend, for she is the type of person that doesn't really care about the opinion of other people towards her. She was often misunderstood as a snob.

Nonetheless, she would never change herself just so one or two people would like her. She wouldn't pretend to like someone so they would like her back. She is fine with what she is.

Therefore, the idea of taking an act of revenge has been floating at the back of her head for a while now. If only this annoying brute of a man would stop laughing at her expense. She needed to consult him on how could she extract retribution from Noah.

"Little Jessie, I fear for my life with that look on your eyes. Tell me who is the unlucky person that would receive your wrath."

She rolled her eyes at him as she pulled a tri-color pen from the breast pocket of her lab coat. She flipped her small notebook on top of the papers that were clipped on the board clip she was holding in her hands.

"We have the hypothesis that I am not good enough for that jerk that's why he is pretending that he doesn't remember me." she scribbled on her notepad as she talks. "The point of the study would be how we could pull a confession out of him that it wasn't the case."

"Hold on, hold it. I have lost you right there," he said, trying to stop her with her crazy doodling.

Haven't you heard that the reason why the ANAT and Pharma Co sent a representative that would actually work on the project and not just supervise it was because they are going to pick some students to be given an internship at their company?"

Her pen hovered on her notepad, she looked up with interest at her friend. She has been applying for companies that would take her in for an internship but so far she is unlucky. None of the companies she applied to agree on her request that she wanted to have her internship at their lab and with full access.

They all rejected her proposal for the same reason that they are not going to risk the confidentiality of their studies and research for some intern, however exceptional she is.

At the start of the summer break, they are expected to pass the acceptance form from their chosen company and the study they are going to take part in. Most of the students in the lab had already found a lab except for her.

She wasn't worried about it around winter but now that summer is fast approaching she started to panic a bit, but her pride would never admit that. So, she sits down and waits, and there was nothing.

Now, ANAT and Pharma Co. It is one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in the world. She would love to be part of any research and study that are ongoing in their company.

In the past, the company didn't accept interns but now they changed their rules. She doesn't care how many students will be vying for the internship position but she wants it. And she is confident that she has the qualification to be part of one of the top pharmaceutical companies.

She clicked her pen shut and put it back in her breast pocket. She ripped the page where she was doodling, balled it, and threw it in a garbage bin six feet away from her, and watched the piece of paper went in smoothly into the bin.

"Smooth! If only you could go through other holes in life like that… you shouldn't encounter someone that would deliberately forget your existence."

"Shut it! I am done with that childish revenge." she turned in her heels, with Luke talking about holes.

"Shut your hole, no one wants to hear that disgusting story of yours about your sexcapades." she was about to close the exit door again on his face but he quickly grabbed the door and caught her on the threshold.

"You should stop living your life with your lab speci...men, and consider finding other men." he grinned like a pervert over Jess' shoulder.

She pushed him and ran away from him. She was laughing when she hit a solid wall of muscles right as she turned at the blind cover of the corridor going to the lab.

"Jess returned my book of Sutra... you learned best in practice," he drawled half of his sentence in her ear, after seeing the man that she was gawking on.

Jess blushed as she the owner of the firm chest she accidentally ran into stared intently on her face.
