"Impossible!" The bloody scalpel fell on the ground with a clear sound, and Stephen moved steps backward in shock.

Adolph was also stunned. "Barbara, you..." He knew Barbara wanted to rescue him, but there was no need to make up such a stupid lie. Let alone Stephen; even himself didn't believe it.

They didn't find out Stephen's mother was raising a kid alone until she had worked as a maid in their family for a long time.

Barbara walked to Adolph but didn't lift him up. Instead, she knelt before the tombstone with sincerity and respect on her face.

"Thank you, thank you so much for what you've done." Barbara's eyes were full of tears again. She gently rubbed the black and white photo on the tombstone. "Thank you for you've raised Stephen up so well. He's a very good child. And we owe a lot when you sacrifice your life for my sister, Agnes,"

"Don't touch my mother!" Stephen strode over, but Ethan stopped him.

He sneered and pointed at the tombstone. "I only have one mother, and she's buried here!"

Barbara helped Adolph get back to his feet and asked with concern, "Are you alright."

"I'm fine. Barbara is it..." Adolph still couldn't believe that his adopted son was his biological son. A twin, to be exact.

"Great, I'm glad you're fine." Barbara smiled.

She pulled Ethan away and walked to Stephen, step by step. "There is another secret I need to tell you."

Ethan was worried and followed her up, but Barbara stopped him.

Seeing Barbara stepping towards him, Stephen pulled his lips with disdain.

He was at an obvious disadvantage right now.

Ethan was stronger than him, and he knew his immortality. All the confusion that runs through his head over the past few years had gotten a clear answer. He himself had his secret too because he's not human but an immortal that he concealed up to this present time. He chose to become a doctor, hoping to find ways to remove the wolf genes that he thought were a curse for him.

Looking at Ethan now, he knew that they have a common secret. Loving the same woman and sharing the same wolf genes they hid for many years, just that his twin Ethan was a hybrid, the strongest werewolf-vampire existed in the mortal world.

Adolph was also shocked with all the revelation he heard, yet didn't know his children's identity as an immortal, felt suddenly lost. His eyes flew to both Ethan and Stephen, and now he realized why the two of them look similar. One of his children became evil while the other was on the good side; he doesn't know who he would help.

The most depressing moment for a father who lost his family over the past 30 years and found them late. He wanted to help Ethan and persuade Stephen to surrender.

Stephen, who is still thinking of his revenge, yet felt being in danger, think, if he could hold Barbara hostage, Ethan wouldn't dare hurt him.

Thinking of that, Barbara already stood in front of him. She said to him in a quiet voice, and only two of them could hear it, "There are Ethan's people outside the graveyard everywhere. Use me to protect yourself, or you can't leave here."

Stephen was struck dumb for a second. He didn't expect Barbara would be willing to do that herself.

"Is it..." He couldn't believe what she just said either.

"You know how to do DNA paternity testing better than anyone else." Barbara stared at Stephen with her eyes full of care and love, making Stephen feel like crying.

The next second, Stephen caught Barbara's neck.

"Don't step forward, or I'll kill her to keep my mother's company!" Stephen threatened.

Adolph was anxious. "Stephen, she's your biological mother!"

Stephen pulled his lips with disdain again. "She abandoned me when I was just a baby."

"Stephen!" Ethan was furious.

It was hard for him to accept the shocking truth that his comrade who fell in love with the same woman was his fraternal twin brother.

"If you dare hurt her, I'll kill you right now!" Ethan clenched his teeth, and two moving spots fell on Stephen's body.

Snipers were ready.

Barbara's heart was in her throat now. In case they shot Stephen, she moved to protect him from being aimed by the red spots.

Adolph was too nervous about staying calm. "Barbara, no, Stephen, let her go! I can be your hostage."

"You're not qualified!" Stephen turned to look at Ethan. "My dear older brother, wife, or mother? You can choose."

"Stephen!" Ethan was angrier than ever. His inner power runs through his cells, and he shifts into his hybrid form, controlling the entire surroundings and froze everyone into a statue. Great anger emerged and forced him to transform, "I want you to be dead."

He moved fast, and a gun appeared in his hand and stood behind Stephen, while his other hand strangled his neck.

Given his inner strength as a hybrid, he was confident that he could kill Stephen without hurting Barbara. Right at this moment, Barbara opened her mouth. "Ethan, let him go! No! He is your brother,"

"Mom, he is not the same as before," Ethan was reluctant to do that.

"Let him go! Please?" Barbara begged.

"I can't." Ethan pointed his gun at Stephen's head.

"Ethan." Stephen smiled all of a sudden. "Do you think Kylie will forgive you if you kill your mother and your twin brother?"

"It's none of your business." Ethan looked as cold as ice.

If Stephen dared force Kylie to be entangled with him again and again, he would rather kill Stephen right now, even though Kylie would hate him.

Stephen wore a proud smile. "It's one thing whether she'll forgive you, and it's totally another thing that she'll bear my name in her mind forever."

Ethan squinted. He understood Stephen said that on purpose to annoy him.

Seeing that Ethan was unwilling to move away, Barbara stood next to Stephen and quietly knocked her elbow against him.

Stephen understood it would be less likely for him to escape if they wasted time arguing with Ethan here safely.

Therefore, he used greater force and shifted into his form. Ethan wasn't shocked at all as he now knew Stephen was his twin brother.

Stephen pulled his mom to become his hostage, and Barbara was out of breath now.

"Move!" Stephen raised his voice.

Even though Ethan knew his mother was protecting Stephen, he couldn't see her being in pain.

"Let me leave after you unfreeze them all back to life. Brother, your inner power gradually deteriorated, and killing me won't help you at all. We are connected with each other, and I could feel your great pain while you are using your inner strength. Sonner, we will both die. Is that what you want to happen? How about Kylie and your children?"

Ethan was in a daze while listening to Stephen. Now he realized that the reason why his wolf form become weaker had something to do with Stephen whose body suffered the effect of the magical pill he created.

"Tell snipers and that police that surround them to retreat ."

Ethan had no other choice, and he shifted back into his human form then take back his power to return everyone into the current state, then made an order to retreat.

"Lord Ethan, we can't have a better chance than now!" Vincent was worried.

Ethan took a long breath before he said, "The hostage overlaps the target. It's too dangerous."

Vincent bit his lips, then made a hand gesture.

Stephen didn't move backward with Barbara until the red spots were gone.

"Don't follow us, or I'll kill her!"

Ethan and Adolph had to stand still and watch Stephen leaving with Barbara till he jumped in a car and drove away fast.
