Loving A STRANGER Chapter 221

As they walked through the hospital hallways in the direction of the elevator, Khloe turned to Alice and said, "We should visit dad again tomorrow. We can't let Kylie stay at his side. He should be awake as early as possible, time is running, and I can't stand seeing Kylie leading the entertainment world while I was being humiliated,"
Alice nodded and said, "Don't worry, my dear daughter, your father, will be okay soon. Staying with him often would be nice."
One of the doctors escorted them, and Khloe suddenly realized that she'd left her cell phone in her father's room. She looked at the Doctor and said. "I left my handy back there. Could you wait with my mom while I run back for it?"
"No problem," the Doctor replied. "I am always happy to help."
As she passed Kylie in the hallway, Khloe casually threw her elbow into her gut. When Kylie bent over in pain, Khloe gasped and said, "Oh, I am so sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you. You stand at the hallway where I pass by,"
"Whatever, you have always been a wicked human, no wonder you never do good when you see me near you," Kylie grumbled as she straightened. She was in incredible pain, but she didn't want to give Khloe the pleasure of seeing her suffer. This evil half-sister of her will get her on retribution at the right time.
When Khloe got to Laurence's bedroom, she made it look like she was looking on either side of his bed. She wasn't, though. What she did was take his monitors from his fingers and put them on her own. "Where is that phone?" she grumbled, in case anyone was listening.
As she scurried around, she casually stepped on the soft tubing that fed her father oxygen. It wasn't more than a minute before he went into convulsions. Khloe looked up and said, "What does that mean," and when no one responded, she continued as if she did not recognize the danger that her father was in. "Crazy," she laughed. "I wonder if I forgot my keys in the car… Old man, you should be aware that your life will end soon. You didn't help me at all; instead, you let disappointed me,"

Alice, Duncan, and the Doctor had waited for a long while, and Khloe still hadn't returned. Kylie looked at her watch and said, "I'll go see what's taking her so long?"
Kylie jogged down the hallway and rounded the corner that led to where her father was staying. She arrived at his door, and as she looked through the window, she noticed three things simultaneously. Her father was convulsing. His monitors seemed oblivious, as did Khloe, her sister.
"Code White!" she cried. "Code White! All hands on deck! My father is convulsing, and his monitors are malfunctioning! What's going on?"
Two doctors came running into the Intensive Care Unit. Khloe was on the far side of the bed and determined to keep her foot on the tube until the last possible second. Before her eyes, she watched her father's blood drain from his face, and it took all of her willpower to keep from smiling. By the time the doctors arrived, she'd thrown the finger monitors to the ground. Let the doctors think they came off while he was seizing, she figured.
One Doctor looked at Khloe and shouted, "Get out! We don't need other people inside this room!"
On her way out the door, Kylie grabbed her and pushed her up against the wall. She pressed her tight to it so that nobody could see her rabbit punching her sister. In fact, if anything, they might think the one was consoling the other.
"I can't prove it," Kylie hissed, "but I saw you standing on Dad's oxygen tube. I know that you were trying to kill him, and when all is said and done, you will rue the day that you tried to dethrone the patriarch of this family. Furthermore, I spoke to his doctor, and he said, Dad, can possibly recover soon. Bitch! You have done so much evil act. You lied!"

Kylie spat in Khloe's face and let her fall to the ground. Khloe wanted to pull Kylie's hair and fight against her, but she knew that she couldn't stand against her when Kylie started to fight back.
When Kylie returned to the elevator, she told everyone everything but omitting Khloe's part in it. She had already decided that she would stand as judge, jury, and executioner.
"It was very scary," Khloe cried and felt exhausted. "If I hadn't been there, he might have died!"
Tears were streaming down Alice's face pretending she was about Laurence's situation, and Khloe knew that it's Alice's drama all along, so she decided to quickly moved to comfort her. They had not embraced each other for many years, but it felt right – like coming home. They pulled away after a moment, and Alice asked Khloe where Kylie had been while all of this had been going on.
"It was weird," Khloe replied. "She was just standing there as if she were completely oblivious as to what was going on around her. I can't describe it, but to see her there like that was very unsettling… She doesn't care about Dad's condition,"
"Well, we can't expect any sympathy from that woman because she hated Laurence. I might think she waited the right time your father will die," Alice said furiously.
Khloe quickly nodded, pretending she had done nothing awhile ago. She almost succeeded in killing their father, but her sister suddenly appeared.
She quickly responded, "We needed to be more attentive from now on. We can't let Kylie stand beside Dad."
"Yeah, you're right. We should be on your father's side, so when he wakes up, he will realize that we never left him alone," Alice said abruptly.
Khloe nodded and guided her mother to sit at the bench along the hallway. They waited for the Doctor to come out from Laurence's private room. She silent cursed Kylie's sudden arrival earlier that saved their father's life.
