Loving A STRANGER Chapter 181

When Khloe told Aiden about her Oscar nomination, he looked incredulous. He knew that Khloe doesn't have good acting skills. In fact, he couldn't believe his ears. "How did you get nominated?" he wondered.
"Aiden," Khloe whined, "why does it sound like you don't believe in me? This is good news. If I win, we could announce our engagement at the awards show! Why don't you want to believe me? Don't you want to continue our marriage? What is the reason behind that you suddenly changed recently?" She threw a tantrum to Aiden.
"I am fine with that," Aiden replied perfunctorily. At the moment, he was very confused and, more than anything, what he wanted to do was to call Kylie. He knew that, when Kylie heard the news, she would be disappointed because, if anyone deserved the Oscar, it was Kylie – not Khloe. Obviously, Kylie was better than Khloe. Aiden knows that Kylie poured in a lot of effort and acting skills in all the shows she's been part of.
"I can't wait to announce our wedding to everyone," Khloe continued smugly as if she had already won the award; she was that confident. All she could think about how glorious it would be to rub the statue in Kylie's face as if she were some beaten dog. She wanted to defeat Kylie in all aspects, no matter which or what way she'll be going to do just to have victory over her.
Khloe can't even give up Aiden because she wants to be his wife. Having Aiden's name as her husband, it makes a big difference.
Aiden couldn't find words to say. His mind flew to Kylie. He regretted dumping Kylie for Khloe. He realized he made a big mistake.

"Forget about it. You're overthinking!" Aiden said quickly.
"Then, why you sound not happy when I shared the news about my nomination?" She snapped at him.
"I said, let go of your negative thoughts because I am too tired today. I should go home now!" He quickly stood, aiming to leave a fast as he could. Khloe drained all his energy.
"Okay, take care!" Khloe walked him until his car.
After an hour, Laurence arrived home, and he took two Advil and Two Tylenol. The headache that he'd had earlier had only gotten worse, and as the pain persisted, he slipped into depression. He was glad that he'd been able to raise his daughter's spirits, but he'd seen how she'd assumed that she'd win, which was far from a foregone conclusion. In fact, it was more likely that she would lose. Laurence had spoiled Khloe so much, and he even does a lot of bribing to let her baby daughter, please. Khloe often gets vulnerable when she's being rejected and judged by others.

After a week of recording, Kylie was very happy with how things were going. She had been working hard, and she felt like, as the underdog, she'd earned the respect of the rest of the cast and crew, excluding Khloe and Laurence, of course. As much as they disliked Kylie, though, they could find no fault in her performance, and the audience loved her.
The Tea Maiden was launched to good ratings, which only got better as the series progressed. By the time it came to its finale, the audience was on the edge of its seat; they loved the show but, even more so, they loved Kylie. Because of this, the studio began airing Trailblazers the week after The Tea Maiden concluded. In this way, Kylie's fans were able to follow her with no time-lapse.

The first episode of Trailblazers had higher ratings than any single episode of The Tea Maiden had. Unfortunately for Khloe, she had not been able to curb her ego, vanity, or general bitchy attitude, so almost all of her scenes had been left on The Tea Maiden's cutting floor.
The few fans that had remained loyal to her began to ask questions like, "Didn't you say that Khloe was a co-star in this program? I haven't even seen much of her at all…"
More common comments included such assertions as, "Her scenes must have been cut because of her bad performances."
After the second episode of Trailblazers was aired to equally good ratings, Nina invited Kylie into her office and asked her to sit down. She poured them each a glass of her finest wine, sat down, and proposed a toast in Kylie's honor. They touched their glasses, sipped, and then Nina smiled and said, "Kylie, I really want to say 'thank you.' Without you, no one would have known about Trailblazers. Just having your name attached to it brought it from obscurity and directly into prime time! You made the show earned big than I expected,"
Kylie blushed uncomfortably. She wasn't used to such high praise. Because the company she worked for was so Khloe-centric, she was much more used to being shit on, harassed, and bullied. "The desire of my heart," Nina continued, "is that there are way more opportunities for us to work together in the future. Not only are you a great performer, but your attributes are honorable, and I like you as a person.
"You are too kind," Kylie replied meekly. "I would like that very much."
A lot of people had invested everything under the assumption that Khloe would be the next Drew Barrymore. Now, as they watched her star burn out in proportion to Kylie's rise in popularity, they were very worried – and no one was more worried than Taylor was. As David reported the situation to him, his face turned red, and he snarled as he spoke: "This is your entire fault. Khloe should never have been allowed to participate in The Tea Maiden. The girl is good for nothing."
"When it comes to Khloe and Kylie," Taylor continued, "even my husband has taken Kylie's side. He has never even been a fan of the series show, but he watched The Tea Maiden religiously, and now he is watching Trailblazers…"

Disclaimer: This is a softcore LitRPG story; there are stats but no levels. Also, the LitRPG element isn’t the main focus of the story itself and is more of a support. I have enabled the reader’s suggestion, and therefore, you can correct any grammar mistakes and typos you find in the story. There will definitely be some that I miss. Cheers! The cover was made by Jack0fheart, so a shout-out for him. Releasing 3 chapters per week at 12.00 GMT on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday with at least 2000+ words. Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
