New Life : A Second Chance Chapter 778

Back at the Smith Mansion, Dahlia was looking at Lianne and Joseph with wide, innocent eyes, "So your cats are safe now?"
Joseph nodded happily, "Kyle is awesome."
Dahlia agreed, saying, "Big Brother Kyle is the best."
Dahlia's parents were in town for a conference, and so she came over to stay. She had been disappointed to find out that Kyle wasn't around, but she stayed nonetheless as it was far better than following her parents around.
Then, she sighed loudly, munching on her toast, "It would have been even better if he was my husband."
Joseph nearly splattered the milk he was drinking.
"Husband?!" he squeaked, "Aren't you a little too young to be thinking about that? And the age gap?!"
After all, Kyle was only … what, 20? While Dahlia was 9. That would make Kyle a pedophile!
"I am not!" Dahlia said strongly, "I want to get married to Big Brother Kyle and have lots of babies!"
"You … want … to have … babies with … Kyle …" Joseph stammered, "Do … do you even … know where babies come from?"
"Umhmm," Dahlia replied, "When a girl and a boy love each other, the boy's pee pee goes into the girl's …"
"STOP STOP!" Joseph shouted in horror.
"What?" Dahlia asked, looking at Joseph innocently, "You didn't know?"
Joseph gasped, "I know! I'm just surprised you do."
"Of course," Dahlia replied, "Mama said I should know and that I must always use protection."
Joseph put his head in his hands, his mind reeling over this.
"Why on Earth would your mother tell you that?" Joseph couldn't help but ask. Heck, he only got the birds-and-the-bees talk from his father last year!

"You should know that Country Tz is not like Country M," Lianne piped up, stopping him from asking further, "Things are very open here, you know.."
Joseph looked at Lianne with wild eyes.
Joseph felt like his worldview had drastically changed.
He had been raised in a conservative country so he found it hard to adjust his thinking a bit. His mother had always told him about respecting girls and to never cross the line.
He had his first confession when he was 12, and ever since then, his mother would be advising him about it.
Now, Joseph couldn't help but wonder about Kay.
He had been happy and relieved to find out that she was still single. Well, she was single now … but what about when she was in college?
His mind was in a whirl.
One the one hand, having premarital sex was something he had been taught to be wrong. On the other hand, he couldn't think it was wrong for Kay … but he didn't like it if she had.
It was very confusing for him.
To be raised and living in a conservative society shaped his mind, so the fact that people in this country were very liberal in that sense was still hard for him to grasp fully.
Still, although he thought doing it was not right, it didn't mean that he thought those who did, were 'dirty'. He remembered his mother telling him that when you love someone, it was very easy to cross the line.
This was why being a gentleman was very important.
Showing respect for your partner and not taking advantage of her was the epitome of being a good man. If he wanted to bed her, he should first commit himself fully by marrying her.

He was still learning and he had never been with a girl before, so his mother's words hadn't quite been fully understood.
Right now, however, he had a slight inkling. Just the thought of Kay being in someone else's arms … Joseph quickly shoved the image out of his mind. More so since he was starting to get rather hot and bothered at a certain part of his body.
He felt ashamed.
How could he treat her like that? View her like something to lust over?
Joseph hit himself on the head.
Lianne looked at her brother, wondering just what was going on in his mind by now.
He had these myriads of expressions on his face that she found slightly amusing. Now, he as punishing himself by hitting his head.
She shrugged, not really bothered or interested. Her brother was weird anyway.

While Joseph was having a change of mindset, Kay was busy with her new project.
First, she delegated any work that could be handled by Beatrice and Sam to them. Next, she cleared up the pile that was due for the day. It was just about lunchtime by the time she had settled her work, so she had some food brought in while she 'played' around.
Lianne and Joseph required a different type of team as compared to the ones that the twins' children would have. Plus, Lianne's Team would be different from Joseph's team as well.
Of course, their team wouldn't have the same function as Kyle's team and would work in the shadows for now. It all depended on what sort of future Lianne and Joseph would have, to determine whether they would come out of the shadows, or not.
For one thing, the most basic aspect both needed was protection.
Being publically known as children that Kyle sponsored, they may be targetted. Either kidnapped for ransom, or, used to get to Kyle by putting some mole or spy on them. Kay intended a team to be put on the kids, just like how Kyle had placed a team on Sari.
This time, however, they would do more than just be bodyguards. They would also serve to protect the kids from those who may use them.
The problem?
Should they be informed of the existence of these MIB agents and purpose? If they weren't informed, then how could the agents get close enough to them to help them? Wouldn't the kids then feel betrayed if they found out later?
Not an easy decision.

The Trespasser
Synopsis Following his di—instincts, David finds himself in a weird situation; the next thing he knows, he's in a different world, dying, and manhandled by a big-ass alien. When the Source comes to his aid, granting him the access that—like every other sapient—he's due, David barely manages to get out of the fight with his life intact, but is that enough? Of course it isn't. The very Source giving him powers is also poisoning him to death. Oh, there she is, the petite female alien. Will that be enough to save him? Of course it won't. If he wants to be saved, he has first to save himself. The only way to do so is by getting to know the world around him, but even before that... Why the bloody hell did I have to be called Deviant!? *** Blurb? Blurb. The Trespasser starts slowly, I believe I've written a decent world, and I want you to find out what it's all about, won't just throw it in your face because of *levels*. I do not like stories that don't make sense. David is not a murderhobo, he respects life and answers to the world and the weird situations thrown at him with irony and sarcasm; so you are looking for easy killing streaks, you will not find them here. So, a man finds himself into the wild? It's a different world, and yet he can breathe its air? Finds himself in a lucky-low-level zone? Oh, look at that, people speak English—how likely is that? So, nope, not for me, gentleman. You won't find anything of the likes here. Again, a man finds himself in a new world but only thinks about the system? Yeah, that's not exactly how it works. David will try to find out what it's really all about, what the aliens want, how they work, why is that Fay really helping him? You can kill somebody to get levels, and yet there is not even a form of police? Not gonna happen here. Man becomes suddenly overpowered in a world where people can live for thousands of years by having enough luck to face only lower-level people? Hahaha—nope. Lastly...Spaceships and fantasy with LitRPG... say what!? Well, what's wrong with that? Let's make it happen, shall we? *** You want even more info? Really? Alright... David will start from the very bottom of the food chain, so there will be a settling arc—it's inevitable. David will find true companions, with personalities and backstories, and they will have a life of their own. There will be enemies, and those enemies will have a life of their own, too; there will be no evil just because. The world-building will have true depth; it will not exist just because the protagonist visits it. There will be both Fantasy and (Soft) Sci-fi—yeah, you heard that right. There will be rationality to every action taken, as long as the characters are aware of what is going on. There will be a godly system. You will come to read because of the world-building, but you will stay for the characters. The dead stay dead, and you will weep for them. There will be no action without a reaction. Lastly, there will be laughs. Are you still up for it? Then get in but fasten your seatbelts because it's going to be a wild ride. *** Release Days: Twice a week Release Time: ~09:00 PM UTC Words per chapter: ~3000 This web novel is also available on other platforms.
