New Life : A Second Chance Chapter 703

After completing the mission, Kyle gave Nitocris the information he requested for further action. Kyle's role was not just to eliminate the 'bad seed', but also show that Nitocris hadn't gone soft.
He had merely been compiling everything to do it in one shot.
The moment the word got out as to what had happened, chills went throughout the entire organisation. They had been too complacent and had forgotten what Nitocris was truly like.
It was just that, with Ice being silent and Nitocris getting a partner, they thought he was too busy to actually notice things.
It was just minor stuff, right?
Those that had been thinking about it, broke out in cold sweat knowing that they had managed to escape the guillotine.
The fate of those who had gone against Nitocris was passed and it became more and more exaggerated (as all rumours tend to be). In the end, it went as far as Ice just walking through and people fell dead.
Remembering the legend of Ice, which had annihilated an entire gang, it certainly was convincing.

Kyle entered the apartment silently.
He didn't know why, but he had this instinct that Sayuri would not be too happy with him going off for three days. Which was why he just left a note and ran.
He listened at the door and didn't detect anything. Stealthily, he entered and walked silently towards his bedroom. He sent out his senses and didn't detect any abnormality in the living room. Just as his hands touched the doorknob, the living room bathed in light.
Damn. So close.
Living with another ninja was certainly hard.
He turned with a smile and caught the shuriken that flew to his face, then deftly caught the other three that came right after.

"Oh, so you remembered that you have a home here?" Sayuri asked, tapping her foot impatiently.
"Well … it was only three days," Kyle said in his defense, "And as CEO, I would be gone for longer than that, you know."
"That's work," Sayuri said, "You can go for a month for all I care. Heck, even two months! But this was just you, running away to 'release stress'. You didn't think I'd be stressed with you gone suddenly?! What about Junior? You just upped and went, out of range and calls."
"Derek still hasn't told him yet," Kyle said, raising his hands in surrender, "He wanted to ease it to him gently and once he does, I'll see him and my parents about it. I haven't forgotten him."
Kyle may have left to get things out of his system, but he only did so after making sure things were settled on other matters. Be it in the office, or regarding personal matters. He wasn't that irresponsible.
Sayuri, however, wasn't appeased.
Well, she was a little, but she wasn't going to let him know that.
"Next time, ask me first," Sayuri said, "At least, talk to me before you go. It's not like I'm restricting you or anything but I don't like coming home to an empty house and just a note."
Kyle put down the shuriken and placed his hands together. He looked like he was suitably apologetic but Sayuri wasn't buying it.
"They also brought Kitty over. She's in your room right now," Sayuri said.
Much to her surprise, she saw Kyle's eyes go wide and suddenly dash into his room.
"Kitty!!" roared Kyle.
Puzzled at his sudden outburst, she went in. She saw Kyle holding Kitty up, his two hands under her 'armpits', and her two legs dangling freely below. He was glaring at her, his face about two feet away from hers.

She just looked at him, then put her paw on his nose.
Kyle sighed.
"Kitty, where did you put my underwear?" he asked exasperatingly, "Why haven't you gotten rid of this habit yet?"
Kitty meowed pitifully and bopped his nose again.
"Your cat … is an underwear thief?" Sayuri asked in surprise.
"To be more accurate, she only steals mine," Kyle said, cradling Kitty. Even though Sayuri was at the door and Kyle was practically in the middle of his room, she could hear Kitty's purring.
Her eyes glanced briefly at his closet and noted that the underwear drawer was slightly open. She raised an eyebrow. Kitty worked fast indeed. It had only been yesterday that Kitty came, and she had already emptied it?
Impressive indeed.
Actually, Kitty wasn't meant to be in Kyle's room. They had agreed to let her stay in the living room : her cat bed was against the wall, her food and water bowls in the kitchen and the kitty litter in the guest bathroom.
However, as Kitty had been extremely clingy and demanding for attention, Sayuri couldn't stand it and placed her in Kyle's room. She had also placed one kitty litter in there and felt it was best to leave her there until Kyle came back.
It was also as an additional layer of protection as she was not allowed to clean the kitty litter. By placing her and another set of kitty litter in there, the one in the guest bathroom wouldn't 'overflow', so to speak.
By an earlier agreement, the one that is to keep the litter clean was Kyle. This was because the cat litter and cat poo can contain a parasite that causes toxoplasmosis infection.
Although the risk was low, it was still a risk and Kyle didn't want to endanger their baby. If Sayuri got infected, it can pass to their unborn baby, causing miscarriage or stillbirth.
Now, as Sayuri watched Kitty snuggling in his arms, she could swear Kitty looked at her smugly. As if saying 'Mine'. Sayuri shook her head. It must be her imagination. How could a cat show expressions, let alone be so possessive?
It didn't take long for Sayuri to learn that she had been right. Kitty did not like sharing Kyle.

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.

The Last Death Mage
Since time immemorial humanity has always feared and shunned what it didn’t understand. Over time this changed a bit to encompass things that didn’t conform to their thoughts and ideals. Due to humanity’s stubbornness with which the enforced their ideals many lives were lost and changed. When humanity first clashed with monsters and the beings that use magic, this trait caused many bloody fights. Over time the fights escalated into battles and full on war on several occasions. Humanity due to their adaptability and persistence won many of these altercations, causing huge casualties to the magical beings. Humanity did not come out unscathed however; many of the empires and civilizations noted in human history fell due to these battles and wars. Eventually over time humanity and the magical beings came to a sort of agreement. Magic and the beings associated with it faded into the background of history, being relegated to myth and legend. Humanity meanwhile advanced leaps and bounds once magic faded, leading to our current level of civilization. Not all magical beings were content with this, thus they did their own actions and killed or fed on humans. This has led to many organizations to be formed concerning this, on both the side of humanity and the side of magical beings. They regulate and control the use of magic as well as protect humanity from the darker things that are now not but myth to them, but there is a reason humanity instinctually fears the dark. Unfortunately there are always those that are unsatisfied by the status quo, and those that are prejudiced against things that are different. This is a story of a young man who wanted nothing more than to be normal. Unfortunately Fate and the world he lives in do not easily allow that this, thus his life changed, not for the better. Everyone has heard of or read stories about monsters and legends, heroes and villains, this is one such story. Hi, this is my second attempt at a story here, the first was before the major overhaul happened and i lost everything related to that story due to PC troubles. I hope you enjoy this if you dont please leave some constructive criticism in the comments. An Editor and the like will be needed, but I will edit as problems are pointed out and as i proof read. This story will have no set schedule, unless of course I decide to type up a bunch in succession then i will note that in a chapter beforehand. ADDED NOTE: most sexual content will be in Interludes or sub chapters with a .5 attached. Profanity and gore however shall be plenty in the actual story, though the descriptives for the gore may be added later. (For example, in the prologue that gave a hint at what happened to the MC, will be enhanced so that the gore invokes more descriptive/complete mental pictures, though it may wait.) ~Tyroth Gideon
