The moment I remember what date and day was today, I was filled with sudden embarrassment. I felt as the world was booing me for forgetting the thing I was waiting for, like a month, the thing I made the love of my life, for which I waiting for so long.

But I was a bit relieved too because only I knew the real reason I forgot about the tournament.

"So, do you remember it now?" He asked.

"Yeah, I just thought today was 31st or something, I messed up the date!" I came up with a lie to save my pride.

"Kai walk fast, we need to be in the main hall soon,"

"But don't we need to get ourself into the arena where the match is supposed to happen instead of the palace hall?"

"Well, don't you think if you were up early, we wouldn't have to do this all, so quick!" He taunted me as a father who has to drop his children to school because they missed the bus.

"Lee! Look, we have arrived!!!" I saw the gates of the hall where two brutes stood to maintain the order. I took a whiff of relief and ran straight to the door, as they saw us coming, they opened the door without even bowing to us. I felt as even they realized we were late.

Inside the hall, all the lords were roaming here and there stressfully. I saw the Archpriest who was looking at the big clock in the hall without blinking, A knight yelled as he saw me "Here he is." All their eyes turned towards me and Lee at once. I felt the chills coming from them.

We were the centre of attention, unnecessarily again!!! Oof am so famous. I dunno why my mind use to cook such thoughts when the situation is stressful.

The Archpriest ran to me with some maids, at first I thought she'd slap me but it was not that, she wanted to but I was the king so she couldn't, she looked straight into my eyes, she grabbed my wrist and placed it onto the leviathan sphere.

As my palm touched the surface of the blue mystical sphere, many lights flashed out of the sphere and covered me inside it. This time I felt no pain instead, I felt power rushing inside me.

"What did you just do?"

"It just enhanced your powers, that's all, your grace."

"Wouldn't it be cheating?"

"No, your grace, that's allowed. It reveals the best outcome from you. Let's go we are already late on clock!" Lee briefly explained me about the thing that just happened and rushed out with me to the chariot with few knights for protection.

The chariot was a specially designed one with a serpent type figure. It was newly manufactured just a few days ago for the tournament. Maybe because it was a kind of representation of the household.

We were racing toward the city center at middle noon. The driver was in full crazy mood today and because of that it didn't take us more than five minutes to arrive at the stadium.

The leviathan stadium or arena was big as the "Colosseum" hundreds of guards were enforced outside. We entered inside the building running, from just the middle of the way, I heard the shouts and cheers of the audience that came to watch the showdown.

"Lee, we have arrived on time bro, we did it!" I huffed and smiled at him after making on time.

He gave me a smile back "Yes, dumbass, you did it, now you're on your own! Best of luck." He wished me luck and ran in a different direction because he was not allowed to go further, only the participants were allowed.

Now in front of me there was a big hallway and at the end of it, a dressing room with the other six opponents of mine were, I took my first step slowly into the hallway, because of the nervousness and the scared feeling of the future. But finally, after a few steps, I was in the dressing room.

As I entered, someone jumped on me. The person who jumped was bigger than me and it startled me; I thought someone attacked me but I was ready to parry my self with my burning bluish-green mana fist.

But it was something else. It was Tom who was waiting there for me. He jumped to hug me. I took a whiff of relief and all my nervousness was gone in a second.

"Hey man, what took you so long?" He was jolly even though he had bigger problems to face today.

"Ugh well, I overslept!" I tried to hide my embarrassment under a smile, but still it was written on my face, and it made him burst into laughter.

"So, are you ready? Um, hey what weapon will you use today?" He asked me something I had no idea about and it was making it so obvious.

"Ugh anyway, let's get you one!"

He opened a box with various kinds of weapons stashed inside. There was a sword, bow and arrow, shield, daggers and many other. He picked a sword and handed it to me…

"Hmm, this will be nice for you! Check it out."

As I touched the sword ,my hand went numb and I dropped it, and it was the second time when this happened. He took another item and handed it to me but again same thing happened. Mammon, who was watching me struggling to pick up the weapon for a minute, spoke.

"Leave it, Beelzebub, none of them are compatible! It does not matter how much you try, it won't help"

"Huh, you mean the compatibility defect we all learned about?" Beelzebub replied to him.

"Yes, he has to fight unarmed, I feel bad for him. It's a major disadvantage."

"What is he talking about?" I asked Tom, as I was quite confused about what the compatibility defect was.

He looked at me and answered, "Kai, it's a defect devils usually face, in this a devil is unable to wield a weapon, until they find a weapon that's compatible to their mana and power. Like maybe sometimes the weapon is too powerful and sometime the devil is. I guess in your case, the devil is more powerful."

"Oh, I see…" while he was explaining me about it a voice echoed in the room it was an announcement.

"ALL THE DEVILS, PREPARE YOURSELVES THE TOURNAMENT IS ABOUT TO BEGAN!"
