Knock! Knock! Knock!
Someone knocked at my door. I asked Rose to get the door for me as I could not welcome these guests.
It was Lee, Skyler, and Sabir altogether at my door. They came to visit him, without guessing that he had gained consciousness.
"Hey, everyone, you're all here to see me?" I waved my hand to say hello to them.
"Ah! Finally, you're awake—"
"Bitch! Took you so long, I'll kill you!"
"I'm glad you're fine,"
Lee, Sabir, and Skyler started to talk to me as soon as they saw me awake.
"Ahh! I can't answer you all at the same time—"
"you son of a bitch!"
"WHACKK!"
"Aahhhahaahhghgg!!!" I cried out
"No!!" Rose yelled in shock.
In the midst of the conversation, Skyler kicked me in the face with her ankle, Lee and Sabir who stood there made a face that expressed that they knew how hard the kick was and how hurt my face might be.
"WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH YOU BITCH?" I screamed at her as my response to the kick, It was so hard that I had to rub my cheeks to overcome the pain.
"Don't talk back! I'll kill you!! You know you deserved it." She was giving me a death stare, and I did not know why.
"I never knew you're that naïve, you shithead. Why were you poking Basilisk? He could have snapped your neck in just a sec, you should be grateful that he was not aggressive."
Lee walked towards me, and asked Skyler to excuse him, and hugged me.
"Dumbass! I thought you died. Why did you try something so reckless?" he spoke softly, by his voice, it was clear that he was frightened and happy at the same time.

"Ouch...!, Lee, I'm still hurt!" I wept as Lee hugged me.
"Kai, will you explain what exactly happened in the dungeon?" Sabir questioned me while adjusting his ring.
"Hmm, well, it's a secret!" I looked up and winked at him with a vile smirk on my face.
"Fuck your secrets alright. Tell me everything before I pluck your puny eyes out, shithead!" Skyler was in a total mood to kill me today.
"Y-YESS MA'AM. I'll explain everything from the start, so as before, going into the maze. In the evening, Skyler, do you remember? You handed me "Weasel's attar" At first, I didn't understand what the attar was for, so I tried to check about it in the Royal Library."
"In the library, I found a book about serpents in which I found about Basilisk. In the book I found about "Weasel attar" a weakness of Basilisk," I explained everything, like a cookbook.
Everybody was listening to me attentively. Even Rose stopped her chores and sat on a stool to listen to me. They all looked like they had questions in their heads, and Sabir's question popped out of his head.
"Kai, I have a question! You didn't know which serpent you'd be facing, right? So why did you take the attar with you, like what if instead of basilisk another serpent was inside you?"
"Well Sabir, Skyler gave me that and it was the weakness of the serpent king, so if that attar inflicted this much damage to the serpent king, imagine what would have happened to other serpents! I'm smart, right Lee?" I smiled proudly and asked Lee for his opinion on my smart move.
"You really thought it'd work on other serpents! How can you be so ignorant Kai, yes attar was serpent king's weakness, but that doesn't mean it'd work against other serpents!" He screamed at me for my dumb move, which I considered a good move.

"Fuck! I'm lucky that it was Basilisk, Or I'd be dead by now—"
"What about the mirror?" Skyler narrowed her eyebrows and interrupted me so she could ask her question.
"Ah, the mirror! It was my lucky charm too, at first I thought to apply it to enhance the power beam, but turned out my enemy was basilisk that made the mirror my trump card, when I released the beam at basilisk I thought I'd use the mirror but then I worked my brain like what if basilisk sees his own eyes!!! He may go blind himself and that worked out!" I explained every detail with a proud smile.
"Hmm, I'd say that was a smart move! Rose moved her head in understanding.
Everyone glared at her for agreeing with my stupid idea. The entire atmosphere changed in a split second and Rose knew she fucked up.

Dungeon's Path
The only places I have posted the story and allow it to exist are on RoyalRoad, Scribblehub, and my Patreon. So the world ended. Whoopsie? We didn’t even see it coming. Quite literally as it came at us faster than the speed of light. Don’t worry though, it got better. Also, I am not joking about the world ending. Most people say that and mean humans are inconvenienced for some reason. Nope, all matter disintegrated at the atomic scale there for a few moments. Apparently the local universe wasn’t actually stable? Don’t ask me to go into too much detail. It would require both of us to have a few more college degrees than sense, and I at least lack them (both the degrees and the sense). Anyway, the energy/matter/wibbly wobbly strings were at a local minimum and not the universal minimum. Basically, what we took for sea level was actually a nice little mountain lake and when the dam busted so did, well, everything. Now here is where things go a bit off track with what normal meant before. You see magic is real, qi is real, gods are real. Not on old Earth mind you but souls pay little attention to time and space so we dreamed of it. In fact, the closer the shift in reality got to Earth, the closer our dreams got to the new reality. This is basically me tip toeing around the fact that it was a ‘System Apocalypse’. Reality became a video game, I became a dungeon, and this is my story. Doyle Huxley just wanted a normal life but as the above might clue you in on that just isn’t in the cards. He gets to experience a “Path Based System Apocalypse” and some early paths he takes, both literally and figuratively, lead to him becoming a dungeon. The aim is to release chapters once a week on Friday. Cursing will be avoided and no naughty adult action will take place in the story.
