Primordial Dimensions Chapter 180

Besides learning more techniques to improve his defense or movement speed, Shane couldn't do much to increase his combat prowess.
Only purchasing even better equipment than he currently had or choosing his occupation would change something.
Without knowing what his next [Mythic] mission would be, Shane didn't want to splurge and avoid being short on funds.
For that to happen, his next move would be to prioritize his capabilities to handle his acquired funds.
After his first mission demanded him to acquire funds in a short time, the system might demand that he would do something similar.
As such, Shane was reluctant to utilize a large chunk of his funds after purchasing the world seed.
With more than 30,000 Gold coins, he was confident to solve the [Mythic] mission to receive the permission to purchase the [Tier-1 (Mythic)] body refining technique.
If his current funds were not enough, not a single normal Apprentice stage would be able to solve the mission either, if the system required that the funds be self-earned.
Taking a deep breath, Shane cleared his mind to stop wondering about the possible missions he might get.
Instead, he decided to take another look at the mysterious occupation by opening his status panel.
[?Name?) (==?==)]
1)Innate Skill [Taming]→[Common ★★/Uncommon ★★★]
2)Soul bound world size in diameters→[0m/10,000 meters]
3) [Hidden]
4) [Hidden]
The revealed requirements were unimportant for Shane and rather than focusing on them, he wanted to figure out what exactly the two hidden requirements were about.
'It has most likely something to do with taming...probably? Does the system want me to have more tamed beasts? Stronger beasts with high quality, or is it something else? I don't even know the grade, but if it's similar to other occupations at a higher quality, one requirement could be a higher mana purity? Maybe this is one requirement! However, then there is the problem that I don't know what quality the occupation will have and how high the required mana purity is! If it's an [Platinum] occupation, I might not even pick it, even if the requirements are high.

This occupation might be customized to me but if it's an [Platinum] occupation that's still less powerful than an [Diamond] occupation.
Either way, I won't pick just any occupation and it's unlikely that I will receive my occupation before I reach the peak-Expert rank. At least if I lower my standards which I don't plan to do!'
Ruffling his still wet hair, Shane packed his stuff to leave the Black soul shelter for a while. He didn't like the atmosphere and weather there as it was constantly raining and the shelter overall had a certain gloomy feel. It was already a wonder that the shelter was never under an attack by a beast tide or under a siege by foreign races.
This only indicated that their shelter was either far away from other races and powerful beasts inside the Soul-Onyx-Jungle dimension, or that nobody liked to be inside the dimension at all!
Sighing deeply Shane left the shelter immediately after he reported his departure to the shelter captain who eyed him with a grim expression.
He ignored this and simply walked out of the gate without a backward glance. He was greeted with warm sunlight upon entering the Giant Fluare-plain. Shane stretched his body once again, as he was happy to be out of the rainy dimension, and allowed the sunrays to linger on his face for some time.
Shane's mind couldn't stop thinking about the mysterious occupation, so he tried to divert his attention to something else. He messaged the shelter's emergency contact number that was connected to the shelter's chief secretary and updated him about his arrival and his unique situation.
With that, he hoped that everything would be perfectly fine. To be on the safe side, he additionally messaged that he would only be inside the shelter if he wanted to purchase something or to reach the Dimension Portal if it was necessary.
Shane didn't think that it was necessary to report his arrival to the shelter captain or any guards because the chief secretary was now informed about everything and would take the required steps to prevent the citizens from panicking.

Nevertheless, he still regulated his world seed's mana absorption to avoid attracting too much attention until he was outside the shelter.
Once outside, Shane regulated his world seed's mana absorption back to full speed. He could see millions of mana particles gathering around him as he utilized his [Tier-2 (Gold)] mana gathering technique.
Smiling brightly, he felt satisfied with himself and everything around him.
Right now, he had no worries and more than enough time to prepare himself for the next [Mythic] mission.
However, now he felt the urge to figure out what exactly his next mission would be.
Would the system request him once again to acquire a large number of funds in a certain period?
Maybe he had to kill a strong beast or search for a certain ingredient in a human hostile dimension?
The most important information he wanted to get to know was if he would be pressured by a countdown again, like before.
According to his intel, the majority of missions were difficult but with an unlimited amount of time to fulfill these missions.
That was also the biggest reason for the majority of all basic races to stay longer inside the basic dimensions than they would normally do.
This was, under the assumption that their missions didn't demand to be completed in a certain time limit.
In that case, their hope to complete the mission that might allow them to reach a higher mana purity would never cease to exist.
As long as a ray of hope existed, most would postpone compressing their mana and instead stay inside the basic dimension for dozens of years, which would slowly deteriorate their potential.
In that case, even if they solved their mission, and attained a higher mana purity in the process, they would never be able to catch up to their peers.
After several thousand years, many races revealed different theories saying that one should compress one's mana as soon as possible.
If one was adamant in reaching a higher mana purity, it was still fine with most races to reach the age of 40 years before one's talent would start to dwindle.
Only by reaching higher realms and actively absorbing mana without a break for several centuries would enable the talent to be retained at its peak without declining.
This was exactly what Shane planned to do and even if he had more than enough time left, it would always be better to be ambitious and determined.
With that thought in his mind, he accessed the system without showing any sign of hesitation.
Searching for the [Tier-1 (Mythic)] body refining technique, he requested the mission without further ado.
It may be a hasty decision, but Shane was confident that he would be able to solve any mission with his world seed's stored mana if he were to receive one that had to be completed within a limited amount of time.
He had roughly 20 days left either way, which should be more than enough for such missions.
On the other hand, a mission with unlimited time would probably be more difficult but he would be able to prepare himself better.
Only when a notification asking him if he was sure about his request popped up, did Shane's heart skip a beat.
However, this didn't hinder him in requesting his next [Mythic] mission. It appeared in front of him after he searched through the unimaginable number of possible missions for an Apprentice stage.
[[Tier-1 (Mythic)] mission has been requested. Random mission allocated!]
[Mythic-Mission has been activated]
[System's Collector] Find and catch a wild 'Lesser Starlet Fox' alive! Receiving help to find the requested target is allowed. Catching the target has to be completed without any outside help!
Allocated time [∞]. Good luck!]
"YES! Unlimited time!!" Shane shouted out in joy as his eyes slid to the time limit first. He then read through the mission he had to fulfill and furrowed his brows as he said,
"I'm supposed to catch a 'Lesser Starlet Fox? Never heard of that!"
