Primordial Dimensions Chapter 159

Sitting back on the seat opposite Kia, Shane's mind was bogged down with all the kinds of things he had to pay attention to.
First and foremost, Shane knew that he would need a miniature world or something similar to that either way even if it was extremely expensive because he wanted Umbra to evolve and increase his future tamed beasts' loyalty to the highest degree in the shortest possible time.
This would strengthen their connection and allow one to know what the other saw, thought or even felt at the exact same moment, increasing their teamwork and combat prowess manifold.
If every single tamed beast he would acquire in the future would have 100% loyalty towards him, he would become a terrifying combat unit without the need to rely on others, which was what he wanted.
Another important factor he had to pay attention to, was that he would rather look at the whole process like a long-term project, where he could let all his tamed beasts live without the need to match his occupation to his Innate Skill, even if it might be beneficial in some scenarios.
While a beast sealing card with a soul connection ability was only a temporary solution, a miniature world would have to be expanded manually which would be extremely expensive, and then it would have to be turned into something between a short and long-term solution because the prices were said to be essentially high after reaching a certain size.
As such, Shane thought that it might be better to make one large investment and purchase a world seed which he would have to customize to even purchase it.
According to his aunt, there was also the possibility to use some of the mana which the world seed gathers automatically to sustain its growth process in order to hasten up his cultivation process and vice versa.
This might stagnate or accelerate the world's growing process which was definitely interesting to know and fueled Shane's curiosity.
However, even if that was the case, it was more important for Shane to be able to store Umbra within him in order to take him everywhere, once his evolution was complete than the creation of a world within him.

It was unclear whether the world seed would even blossom in three months and reach the required size to accommodate Umbra whose growth in size after the evolution was still unknown.
There were too many unknown factors, and both he and his aunt, Kia, continued to talk for more than half an hour about all kinds of things regarding customized world seeds, Shane's requirements, and much more.
In the beginning, Kia was still patient with Shane who didn't even want to look at the price for a customized world seed and when she couldn't take it anymore her excitement turned into anger as she shouted.
"SHANE!! Just take a look at the price!! I can see that you're also interested in a customized world seed, don't you dare to lie about that!! If the world seed doesn't blossom before your tamed beast, Umbra, or whatever it is called finishes his evolution, I will purchase a miniature world or whatever you want myself!!!"
Squinting his eyes, Shane had to acknowledge that he hadn't seen his aunt who was also his teacher enraged to such an extent, as she was usually patient.
"You don't need to shout like that, aunt…." He just said, holding his ear as Kia unintentionally amplified her voice with mana.
The whole building had vibrated when she had spoken and even the glass window behind her had shattered which she noticed only after seeing Shane's pained expression.
Kia flinched and immediately hurried towards Shane to look if he was fine, which was, fortunately, the case as she summoned her system to calm down the commotion before it even started.
Trying to calm down the alarmed students, Shane needed a few minutes before he could hear his aunt over the hubbub.
Glaring daggers at her, he couldn't help but sigh as he accepted her proposal.
In the end, it wouldn't hurt to only look at the prices.
As such, he manifested the system's holographic screen in front of him before he clicked on [System limited goods].
A world seed was something special but not necessarily an item that only the system could own, as some colossal, ancient planets that had existed for eons and released mana for the same period were capable of creating a world seed too.

However, they were completely different from the system's world seeds and much worse, because the system's world seeds could be customized and were superior, to begin with as they survived on mana alone without the need of many more resources.
But this required that one didn't downgrade a normal system world seed by customizing it.
Taking a deep breath, he typed [System world seed] in the search field and only one single item appeared.
It was a small, blue seed that didn't look any different from an ordinary seed, except its color which made it slightly more uncommon.
However, that was already it and Shane could only praise its appearance inwardly before he looked at the price because deep down, he also wanted his own world which Kia also knew.
Yet, after seeing the price tag, his hands couldn't help but shiver as he slumped back on his seat which his aunt noticed.
"And? What is the price?
[System world seed] 1,000,000,000 gold coins [Apprentice+s.e] |+|
"O-On-One…" Shane could only stutter and was unable to say the price through his astonishment and shock.
'How the hell should I earn so many gold coins?' He could only think, as he saw the [Apprentice+s.e] tag behind.
The [s.e] tag was an abbreviation for 'self-earned' which told Shane that he had to earn everything on his own if he wanted to receive the benefits at the discounted price, which he seemed to receive as an Apprentice.
'What bullshit discount is that??'
Aunt Kia was still curious about the price and just said anything that seemed to be large yet
"One million gold coins? Wow….That's...much if you have to earn it by yourself…."
Shane could only shake his head at his aunts' words, as he regained control over his senses to say
"It's not 1,000,000 gold coins….It's 1,000,000,000 gold coins for a system world seed..." Gritting his teeth, Shane began to ask himself why he even spent so much time discussing everything with his aunt if the price was something unreachable for him.
How the hell should someone at the Apprentice stage earn one billion gold coins??
Shaking his head, he could only see his aunt's shocked expression as she asked him once again about the price, hoping that she had misheard something.
Unfortunately enough, the price remained the same which caused her to shout out
"Are you kidding me?"
This time, she didn't amplify her voice with mana but it was still loud enough to hurt Shane's already damaged eardrums.
Taking another look at the holographic screen, he noticed the |+| button for the first time and clicked on it, as a new panel appeared

Seeing the panel that appeared in front of him, Shane's eyes widened once again and he couldn't help but exclaim which caused Kia to rush over to him.
She was still shocked about the system world seed's price but Shane's exclamation sounded rather joyous and filled with excitement to her which was weird after what had happened only a few moments ago.
However, after seeing the panel that Shane revealed after a few moments of shock, she was similarly unable to refrain from exclaiming in shock.
Trying to suppress her excitement about what she saw, she urged Shane to look at the adjustments.
"Take a look at the scopes to change the configurations! What you see right now is a panel of a world that is several times larger than Igra, with a stage 2 mana heart, a sun and all affinities to create a whole new planet…. With this, humanity could live inside you once you bind the world seed to your soul and fuse with it and all of us would still live a much better life than on Igra…."

Points of Light - An Oral History of the Collapse
Humanity endures. The phrase is not only an informal slogan of the reformed United Nations, but a rallying cry the world over. Even in the face of extermination, we struggled, we fought, and we endured. But just how close did we actually come? In our darkest hour, how many steps separated our species from oblivion? And are we even safe now? Were the mistakes made by earlier generations really so obvious? Or are they only so blatent when we look back with the advantage of hindsight? If so, what horrors might be staring us in the face even now that no one has the foresight to prevent? Drawn from thousands of interviews, as well as uncorrupted contemporary recordings and source documentation dating back to the early 2000s; Points of Light is a definative look at the last half century of upheaval, prosperity and carnage. It tells the tale of what happened, how it happened, who was responsible and most importantly, what we might be able to do to prevent it from happening again. This is a rewrite of a previously started fiction under a pen-name. Chapters will be updated every two days at 6:00 EST.
