Primordial Dimensions Chapter 155

Shane was not too keen in helping Aisha, a fact that she probably knew. He only wanted to let his aunt know that he was doing fine and had returned from the expedition with all his limbs attached.
Otherwise, if Aisha were to tell his aunt that five students had met their deaths without naming them, Aunt Kia would probably go frantic and he didn't want either Aisha or his aunt to go through that..
Shane, who knew Aunt Kia since the day he was born, had only witnessed it once and it would have been a lie if he were to say that he had not found it both shocking and terrifying on that day, several years ago.
Compared to his father, Aunt Kia was not as obsessed as him with fighting and expanding humanity's territory, wealth, and political power.
Instead, she was more interested in getting to know more about the Primordial Dimensions, other races and everything that was even remotely related to mana.
As such, instead of fighting she would rather learn or start experimenting.
However, this didn't mean that she was weak or naive, she was more of a strategist and a planner than a brutal killer.
Thus, when there was a major accident due to a hostile human Organisation backed by the dark ice elves revolting against humanity, Aunt Kia had used that as an opportunity to teach Shane about the perils of the world he inhabited. The organization had aimed to threaten Shane's father, John Stella, by trying to detonate a compressed large-scale mana bomb inside his mansion.
This Organisation wasn't aware of Shane's existence and had almost killed him. Fortunately, Aunt Kia had been around to save him. That was the first time when Shane had seen his aunt in her true glory only and had made a mental note to never go against her..
Even if there was the saying that knowledge is power, Shane had never really realized how important knowledge was.
At least, until that day when Kia had shielded him with several overlapping layers of relatively simple protection charms that were much easier to cast than a complex, expensive protection charm.

Afterward, she had revealed her cruel side and massacred the whole hostile Organisation single-handedly by using several external devices and her mind.
Shane was sure that if his father and Aunt Kia were to fight, his father would win in a head-on battle without his aunt's possible scheming and other tactics.
In the end, his aunt was also extremely scheming and crafty and it was only through her teachings that he was able to think of the system contract clauses that he had used to trick the other expedition members.
She had always told him that if others didn't bother to read and try their best to understand a contract thoroughly, they didn't deserve to receive more benefits.
Shane couldn't help but agree to that as he would also have to accept it if someone else would have tricked him with the simple contract that he had created.
Leaving the radiant mountain ring dimension through the dimension portal, Shane and Aisha appeared on Igra inside the Shirai academy followed by the students who dispersed in multiple directions, towards the domes, private lounges, or even the tranquil forest to ease their troubled minds after having witnessed the shocking events of the fateful day.
Aisha arrived in the principal's office in less than fifteen minutes. She looked extremely pale and was on the verge of collapsing on the ground because she had used too much mana and energy that would require time to replenish.
However, this was not something Shane could really focus his attention on as he immediately spotted Aunt Kia's small figure with her long, brown hair.
He was rewarded with a glare by his aunt that made him stop in his tracks. This was definitely a bad sign and Shane took a deep breath dreading his aunt's reaction.
'She wouldn't beat me up, right? Doubt clouded his mind but he quickly disregarded this idea as it was unlikely to happen, considering that there were other people he was close to, who would do something like that instead of talking.
However, Kia was always reasonable, and he immediately retreated to stand beside Aisha and both of them greeted their principal.

Though Aisha knew Kia, she was not as close to her as Shane, and instead of speaking up, she averted her gaze to Shane, indicating that he should report.
Shane glared daggers at her knowing very well that he would most likely end up as scapegoat but he mellowed after seeing Aisha's weak appearance.
As such, he didn't even bother to hide anything and reported everything in a dry and monotonous tone like he had learned it from Uncle Lars, who used to share military basics and tactics down to the finest detail.
After he was done reporting the disappearance of the Golden centipede King, Shane found it unnecessary to explain the small disputes that had occurred later as they were trivial in his opinion and nothing that his Aunt needed to know.
Otherwise, she might set aside his secret identity for a while and openly lecture Mike, Karl and even the dense Valkyries.
If he could prevent this, it was good, if not, Shane was sure that he couldn't restrict her from doing anything….probably?
Once Shane was done, the principal's office went eerily silent as nobody uttered a word. Shane was done speaking and Aisha had nothing else to add and both of them waited for the principal to say something.
However, Kia Mel just slumped back on her chair, as she mumbled.
"At least, the little troublemaker is alive…"
Hearing this, Shane's lips twitched a little and Aisha looked at him with an amused smile, before they pulled up serious expressions back on their faces as Kia continued.
"Aisha, can you give me the names and belongings of the five deceased students? I'll have to talk to their family….This will be ugly…"
Aisha did as she was told and gave Kia Mel everything she had, and replied
"There are still the elemental crystals that belong to the five deceased students, but Shane is selling them right now, so it might take some time!"
Averting her gaze from Aisha to Shane, Kia became curious as to why Shane had the deceased students belongings in his possession as it was uncommon, however, when Shane was about to answer, Aisha suddenly interrupted them
"Shane made a trade agreement with all of us! In exchange for the elemental crystals, he'll give us a good amount of gold coins, which is almost double what most Valkyries would have earned under normal circumstances.
He also offered to sell the deceased students' elemental crystals to give their family money instead of elemental crystals!"
With these words, Aisha tried to show principal Mel how impressive Shane was, but Kia only looked at her young student with a faint smile.
"You act quickly, huh?" She blurted out with a faint smile on her face as she almost immediately understood that Little Surro had used his wits even in the most dangerous times to earn more gold coins.
It was nothing to be proud of under normal circumstances, but Shane was well aware that Kia longed to see his proud expression. She wanted to gloat about her teaching skills stating that she had done a fine job of training him, a thing she loved to repeat way too often.
However, after knowing her for several years, he was aware of her little flaws and Kia's personality was what Shane knew the most because she was the person he spends the most time with, immediately after Aunt Lory and Uncle Cheng who had taught him everything about martial art techniques, combat awareness, weaponry and so on.
As such, he just bluntly said "It could have been better", which surprised Kia and even Aisha, who thought that Shane had lost his chance to gain bonus points from the principal, even if they already knew each other.
But how could she have known that Shane and the principal's ties were much closer than what she expected them to be?
Nobody would have expected that Shane knew the principal since his birth, even less that he already received a throughout tutelage from her for several years which helped him attain his current knowledge.

A loose thread
The goddess picked him up. He tried to struggle free, but her grip only tightened. Eventually her thumb caught his head, pulling it backwards. He stared helplessly as she brought her free hand closer, revealing a small vial in her massive hand. She pressed it to his lips, and he felt the contents flow into him. He tried not to drink it, but his body would not listen. Despite his revulsion, his body ignored him by drinking deeply. "Drink and forget. I will give you everything you ever wanted. A loving family. A comfortable home. And then, " Her grip tightened, and forcing the air out his lungs. He coughed up the strange liquid and caused more to spill. “And then, you will pay for your defiance. On your twentieth birthday you will remember.” She pulled the vial away and turned him to look at her. “You will remember, just as everything you love is taken from you, right before your eyes…” Her voice trailed off and his world went dark. .... The above leads right into the story. The first chapter is a bit rough as the MC (a child at the time), hurts himself rather badly. I will try to include similar warnings on chapters as the story goes on, but I want to be up front that I may miss or forget things. Many of the tags are included so I can have flexibility writing the story. I am posting this largely to hold myself accountable to keep writing. Chapters will be short, but I am planning to post weekly. This is the first thing I have written (you've been warned). I am enjoying the story and I hope you will too. Please feel free to let me know what you think of the story as it progresses.
