Primordial Dimensions Chapter 43

Shane had never met his mother, but he had seen many pictures of her. The pure-white ring on her hand was the most distinct thing he could remember because the magnificent pitch-black dragon head with golden eyes looked majestic.
He had asked his father about the ring, but Shane never received a reply.
Or rather, Shane never heard his dad telling him anything about his mother, so he just imagined a gentle, beautiful woman whom he would have loved to meet.
Now with the ring in front of him, Shane couldn't help but wonder, when he looked at the message from Uncle Max.
'That ring is considered as the heirloom of the Suro's?' Shane asked in his mind, when he took off the two mortal ranked spatial rings, to put his mother's spatial ring on his ring finger.
Suddenly, the pitch-black inanimate dragonhead began to move, turning into a miniature oriental dragon manifestation. It released an intimidating aura that caused Shane to not only be shocked but also unable to move a muscle.
Fortunately, he was in an empty alley where nobody could see him. The pitch-black dragon manifestation didn't waste any time as it bit into his finger, and sucked a few drops of blood.
After a moment, that felt like an eternity, the dragon manifestation dissipated before it re-appeared on his spatial ring. The pitch-black dragon head with golden eyes could be seen glimmering on the ring once again.
He was still shocked about what had happened when a notification appeared in his head.
[Direct descendant of 'Sarah Suro' has been identified]
[Ancient Ring of the Susurro [Soul-2 (Extraordinary)] has been bound to host (Shane Suro)]
[Ancient ring of the Susurro regulated its status to host's. Innate skill and blessing detected. Status upgraded]
Shane was still standing in the empty alley, but his eyes had widened in shock.

`Soul-2 grade? What?` he couldn't comprehend what had happened at the moment. He was stunned by the oriental dragon's appearance.
He decided to go elsewhere when he noticed someone entering the empty alley. He wanted to avoid attracting attention to his weird behavior.
Searching for an Inn, he selected one and paid 50 bronze coins. Shane ignored the cost as he went into his room without wasting a single second to small-talk with the owner.
Inside the small room, Shane looked at his mother's ring before he opened its status panel, with high expectations.

'Hmmm?' Shane's eyes widened and he wasn't able to think straight anymore as he saw his mother's ring.
Not only was the ring an extremely large spatial ring but it had additional effects for Shane's individual unique features like his Innate Skill and blessing.
As if that was not enough, he also received a boost in his mana circulation and Mana output. This would help Shane in his cultivation and combat prowess as soon as he learned a skill or technique that required his mana output.
Shane's body began to twitch and he felt his mana pool increasing.
It seemed as if that was not solely the case for Shane but also for Umbra who shuddered violently, almost falling to the ground.
Due to the enhancement of Shane's Innate skill, Umbra's quality, growth speed, and affinity had received a small amplification.
This shocked Shane extremely. Precisely, at the same moment, his mana pool also stopped increasing in size, exactly at 3%, due to the ring's effects.
It was truly shocking for Shane to find out that his mother had obtained a [Soul-2 (Extraordinary)] item from an ancient ruin within an advanced dimension.

These were extremely dangerous and Shane could only praise his quasi family's strength.
Because the ancient ring was bound to his mother for whatever reason, only someone in the same bloodline could use this ring.
This was probably the reason why he received it instead of his dad or someone around him.
Bound items would adjust their strength to the wielder and have certain amplification towards the wielder's special features.
Shane was overjoyed to receive such a treasure as a belated birthday present. He asked himself if his dad had sent it to him through Uncle Max.
He had been under the impression that his father had used the ring as a form of blackmail. Considering his father's temper, he thought that his mother's precious heirloom had been sent in order to lure him back home. But apparently, he had simply received it without any conditions.
It seemed like his father had read his message but instead of writing back, he sent his mother's ring to Max, in order to transfer it to him.
Shane wasn't sure what to think about his father right now because he acted differently than his usual self.
Instead of throwing a fit and cursing at him, his dad had remained silent without replying to him at all.
Was that a new tactic? Shane didn't know but he was sure that his father was more than a little enraged.
Fortunately, his dad wasn't around, otherwise, he would have been beaten to a pulp.
As such, he just accepted the ring and looked at Umbra's quality upgrade panel, only to see that the (0/1drop) for dragon blood changed into (1/1drop).
This meant Max's wyvern counted as a weaker sub-race of the dragon race, causing Shane's lips to curl into a big smile.
Furthermore, owing to the large spatial storage of the new ring, he wouldn't need his other spatial rings anymore.
He would be able to sell the two rings for around 6 gold coins in total which would increase his funds once again.
With his humongous large spatial storage, he wouldn't have to rely on his store to sell the beast corpses that he found in a variety.
Now, Shane didn't need to limit himself to target only a certain category of beasts and avoid the rest. He didn't have to rely on storing many corpses inside his small spatial rings in addition to the three item vacancies inside his shop.
Now he could store everything inside just one enormous ring and filling 10,000 cubic meters would take a long time.
Furthermore, by adjusting its capabilities to Shane's strength, the spatial ring's storage size and amplifications would increase subsequently.
This was exceptionally good news and Shane was even more determined in reaching higher cultivation stages in order to receive more benefits from his mother's heirloom.
Looking at Umbra, Shane smiled, before his gaze turned towards the large empty bathtub.
Filling it with hot water, Shane poured one of the common quality nutrition solutions inside, while he surrounded the basin with three fist-sized common mana stones. He took off his clothes and descended into the basin, immersing himself in the solution.

Ursus Ex Machina
Ozzy was a man of the wild. Raised in a remote village atop the world's mightiest mountain, he'd been taught to respect and revere the natural world. The realm he was born into had been there long before him, and it would remain there long after him. Sure, there was the occasional madman who threatened to destroy it, but such boasts were always empty. No one individual was actually capable of demolishing this beautiful blue-and-green ball Ozzy called home. No matter what terrible magics these villains wielded, they were incapable of causing permanent harm to the environment. Even if the planet was completely devastated, it would recover. Life would find a way to flourish, same as it always had. That was what Ozzy believed from the bottom of his heart, so he never once felt the need to save the world he loved. After all, it was never truly in danger. The world would be fine no matter what. The people were a wee bit endangered, but that was another story altogether. However, what would happen if Ozzy suddenly found himself devoid of his beloved wilds? What would the man do if the realm he knew - one of wonder, magic, and chaos - was replaced with a man-made environment of concrete, industry, and steam? Ozzy could never imagine such a thing happening, and yet that was his new reality. After losing a fateful confrontation with a mad wizard, he and his friends found themselves transported to a strange world so thoroughly alien that every waking moment feels like a fever dream. Separated and scattered to the four corners of this land, each of these adventurers will need to adapt, survive, and overcome if they hope to reunite. They would also need to do so quickly. The sooner they are able to find one another, the sooner they can figure out a way back home and have another crack at putting an end to the villain's plans. Whether such a thing was actually possible in a world with barely any magic in it was a valid concern, but Ozzy had more immediate things to worry about. For instance, why did the air smell like a perpetual forest fire? How did ships sail through the sky as if it were water? And most importantly, was the pavement he was hurtling towards at high speed much softer than it looked? Probably not, but a man could hope.
