Primordial Dimensions Chapter 36

Compared to a few moments ago, Shane's fortune had decreased by a large amount but instead of feeling sad or frustrated, he was proud and overjoyed.
Finally, he had decent manuals to help him cultivate!
Even though these techniques weren't good enough for him to reach the peak of the Expert stage, it was more than enough for the beginning.
With time, Shane was confident in saving up enough funds to purchase the Tier-2 techniques he longed for.
Nevertheless, investing in his human capital which included the quality upgrade of Umbra, was more important for now.
As long as Umbra's combat prowess and evolution paths received a boost, Shane would also obtain much more funds from their increased hunting speed.
With two powerful fighters instead of one, Shane's combat prowess and hunting speed would increase by a huge margin, changing his income by a lot.
This thought caused Shane's lips to curl up.
Because he didn't want anyone to notice Umbra's quality upgrade, he once again rented a room though it was a different inn than before.
Shane wasn't sure if the previous hotel owner would try to kill him, because the room he had stayed in reeked of a foul and horrible stench.
As such, a different hotel was the best choice he could make for now.
Placing the saturated Umbra on the single bed, Shane gazed at him intently, before taking out the required ingredients for his quality upgrade.
Ordering the system to open the quality upgrade panel, the same sheet he had previously seen appeared in front of him, with slight changes in it.
[To upgrade the quality of the selected beast [Shadow-snake(Umbra)] from his initial quality (Uncommon) to (Rare) following materials are required.

Darkness Orchid[Rare](1/1)
Blood of an [Elite] Snake beast (100ml/100ml)

[Commence quality upgrade] [Y/N]

Everything he needed to upgrade Umbra's quality from [Uncommon] to [Rare] was ready and Shane ordered the system to continue the upgrade.
Suddenly the ingredients in Shane's hand ascended into the air, where they dissolved before they compressed and fused with each other, slowly forming a single small marble that shone in a dark light, glimmering with dense mana.
Without wasting any time, the pellet neared Umbra's mouth which he opened widely to welcome the black marble.
Sensing that it was something positive and advantageous for him, Umbra couldn't be more impatient and he was almost about to jump towards the pellet that entered its mouth.
Waiting for a few minutes, Shane inspected Umbra in anticipation, but nothing happened which caused him to frown deeply.
Even Umbra felt weird that nothing happened, when suddenly, a violent surge of mana spread through his whole body, releasing dense mana fluctuations.
Shane's eyes widened as he watched the scene unfold before him.
Umbra was slowly embraced by dark shining mana, shrouding him in cocoon-shaped mana, enveloping him completely.
A few more minutes passed without anything happening when Shane received a surprising notification from the system.
[Quality-upgrade of [Shadow-snake(Umbra)] from (Uncommon) to (Rare) will take 12 hours. Host is recommended to ensure the safety of his tamed beast by all means!]
The first thing Shane did was jump in joy because the quality upgrade had really worked. Smiling brightly, he noted that it would take 12 hours. It was a long time, but it was nothing compared to the gains Shane would receive in the future.
He wasn't sure what the system meant with ensuring safety, but it was probably only a warning that Umbra's mana fluctuation could attract terrifying existences or something similar.
Within Basic Primordial dimensions, protecting Umbra within the shelter couldn't be considered a problem. Shane thought this warning would hold true within the Intermediate-dimensions and even more so in the advanced dimensions, because of the terrifying beasts within.

Shane had to note that he would have to go back to Igra for the following quality enhancements, once he reached the Master stage. He shouldn't exert undue pressure on the shelters within the intermediate dimension.
Mankind couldn't defeat all beings there and some monstrous beings were just left alone or had retreated owing to the sheer manpower.
Umbra's quality enhancement would most likely need some mana supply, but this could easily be solved by purchasing a few mana stones.
Right now, however, Shane wasn't sure how to help Umbra, as all mana particles that could enter his room were greedily absorbed by the black shroud around Umbra.
Shane's mana pool was filled and he could test out his body refining manual for a few minutes, but that was probably it.
Even so, Shane decided to worry about that later.
Turning his attention to the manuals within his spatial ring, he learned them all in a row before a vast amount of information was implanted in his mind.
The information was extremely detailed and Shane immediately understood what he had to do to practice the body refining manual.
However, to ensure the perfect refining of his body, he would need to bathe in a nutrition solution that would provide him with all kinds of nutrition in addition to enough mana to complete the whole process.
His mana pool size was large enough. It could be compared to someone at the 5th Mortal stage than to [Artemis' Blessing] which enlarged his mana core by 30%
The only problem was that he didn't have a nutrition solution, and purchasing one from the system would be too expensive.
Furthermore, Shane didn't want to buy a nutrition solution from the Primordial shop or rather the human section. They were expensive and the nutritional effect would last for multiple hours. This was in contrast to the mana within him that could only supply the whole body refining process for roughly an hour.
This meant he would waste a lot of the nutrition effect.
As such, Shane decided to do something else for the next 8 hours.
First, he had to adjust his plan in order to incorporate the academy into it, leaving enough time for everything else.
But if Shane was honest, in the last few days, he had to adjust his plan way too often and it seemed a bit useless to make a new long-term plan because he was already far ahead than he had hoped to be in the beginning.
And this was due to a few different facts.
These facts included his possession of an extremely useful Innate skill, a powerful blessing, and the perfect timing for the Corvi race to conquer or seize a world without innate darkness transmuted mana.
Everything played perfectly together and due to him earning enough funds to purchase two Tier-1 manuals, Shane's plan progressed further than previously expected.
But, this speed was still too slow according to him, and he wanted to progress even faster.
To accelerate everything, Shane was required to have more connections, and even more important was a wider variety of information.
Being able to collect highly demanded items, Shane would be able to sell them for a much higher price, further increasing his profit.

The Fracture
It was a normal day for the inhabitants of ERT-5901, more commonly known by the populace as Earth. A beautiful planet with lush resources and fertile land, well at one point anyways. Children were born, the elderly died, and Man was as corrupt as ever. But hey, what can you do about that? Can’t change human nature… But that's not the point. Basically the planet was peaceful, for the most part. Certainly they were better off than the species on FTL-3470… We don’t talk about them. Better to leave that book unopened. Anyways, that was all until January 5th of the year 2025. When the sky broke. Fractured. Stunning ocean blue cracks were spotted in the sky all over the planet. A spiders web of cracks and crevices littered the blue skies, tearing all that global peace to shreds. All while Wyatt Walker, a sad example of a human being, was black out drunk in a bar somewhere in LA. This is a post-apocalyptic, portal isekai, high fantasy kind of story set on our very own green Earth! The world has fractured, broken. The inhabitants of ERT-5901 are in for quite the quick and dramatic change in their way of life. Murder, theft, and death have become the norm. Survival of the fittest to the extreme. If you can’t keep up, then good luck playing the game. Hello, Kaiser here! I am the author of this lovely story and I would just like to put a few disclaimers down here. First, English is, in fact, my first language. This by no means I will have perfect grammar and there are bound to be spelling mistakes (please forgive me) and places where I accidentally put plot holes. If you find anything, I would appreciate it if you could let me know so I can fix / change it. I also welcome any constructive criticism or opinions you might have about the story (doesn’t always mean I will change something). Second, I am by no means a professional writer here. Just a confused student who wanted to write something. So, uh, here's my story? Third, if you can’t handle any of the following I recommend you find a different story as I will by no means change any of these topics. [Gore, Profanity, Twisted themes, Dark scenes, and Death] If you’re a sensitive person or a queasy person I would highly recommend a different story. Fourth, I would like to write with freedom so I will by no means be lenient with my writing. I intend to write without mercy. Characters will die, bad things will happen, blood will be spilled, and humans will continue to be humans. I would like to write things as realistically as possible while still having that dash of fantasy. Not everything will be all dark and gloom, there will be happy and funny moments mixed! (Hopefully, not a lot of edge) Enjoy! ッ
