Primordial Dimensions Chapter 12

Shane went back to the food stall where he ate previously and the middle-aged woman´s eyes widened to see him walk towards her.
`Whoa… he looks so pretty!` was her first thought, when she suddenly realized something. `HUH? Isn't that the dirty youth from before? Why is he here again?` but she had to maintain her cool and wouldn't ask impolite questions to her customer.
Shane noticed the woman´s behavior but decided to ignore it and ordered the same dishes as before.
After receiving the large piece of pizza and fried rice cakes, he went to the exact same chair as before but now, he placed the pizza and the rice cakes on the table in front of him without doing anything else.
The woman behind the counter was confused as she continued to cook when she noticed something moving around the youth´s neck.
She was shocked to see a black-scaled snake slither along the youth's black robe.
In the end, she was even forced to cover her mouth to not shout out.
After overcoming the initial horror, she noticed that the black scaled snake seemed harmless and was eating the fried rice cake greedily.
'Is he a Tamer?' The vendor questioned herself.
Looking at the young but athletic-shaped youth in front of her, the vendor began to wonder how long it had been since he had entered the Primordial Dimensions.
To her, Shane looked like he was at most 16-years-old, even though his athletic physique and sharp facial features could speak for something else.
Guessing the age of others was her specialty and she had never been wrong with that, which caused her to be curious about the youth in front of her.
When Umbra finished eating, Shane wanted to leave but the stall woman asked him if his tamed beast wanted to eat a little bit more.
She even said that it would be free of charge and Umbra transmitted that he could eat more.

Accepting the food, Shane thanked the woman, and he received a notification from the system.
[Loyalty of (Umbra) increased by 5%]
`So easy?` Shane asked himself in surprise, but he would be stupid if he was displeased about Umbra´s loyalty increasing like that.
Thinking about Umbra´s increase of loyalty, Shane decided to purchase some good food, to give it to him daily.
Maybe, his loyalty could increase to a certain extent with that.
As long as it didn´t decrease everything was fine.
While Umbra ate, Shane talked a little bit with the vendor and ordered a few more pizzas and fried rice cakes. He stored the food in his cramped spatial ring before he said goodbye and left after Umbra finished everything.
The vendor was slightly sad to see Shane walk away, but there wasn´t anything she could do about it, except thinking that the youth seemed nice.
Maybe, he would come back once again to eat someday and she awaited the day because Shane had lightened up her mood in such an eerie shelter.
When Shane returned to his small room, Umbra was coiled around his index finger and sleeping soundly. He had placed his hand inside his pocket, to help Umbra stay warm because it was still raining.
Taking off his robe, Shane did his best to prevent Umbra from waking up. Then, he slowly changed his wet set of clothes, as it was uncomfortable to walk and sit anywhere with wet clothes.
In the beginning, he didn't care about that but the longer he talked to the vendor woman, the more uncomfortable the wet clothes became.
As such he had to slightly ignore Umbra, who was still sleeping soundly, while he changed into clean and dry clothes.
In the end, Shane had to purchase a new set of clothes for 50 bronze coins, because he had forgotten to carry another set of clothes with him.

50 bronze coins were still acceptable for Shane, but it still hurt him slightly to purchase clothes with his hard-earned money when he could have just brought a bag with clothes with him.
After he wore the new set of clothes using just one hand, Shane decided to take a look at his Innate Skill´s [Upgrade]-function.

It was roughly the same as Shane had predicted, at least from the outlines it looked similar to how others had described the innate skill upgrade window.
Everything except the two-star mission was locked. Shane was neither confused nor enlightened upon reading the description.
He had already tamed a beast which was also shown clearly, but the second part of his task was rather unclear.
Does 'increasing the strength of Umbra' mean after he reaches maturity and increasing the strength to get closer to its limit or would feeding Umbra be enough, because he was a youngling and would continue to grow quite a bit, even without evolving?
The latter was definitely easier but increasing Umbra´s strength by `working out` or doing something similar could be considered quite hard for a two-star [Trash] mission. Shane hoped that he could take the easier path.
Now that Umbra was sleeping, Shane grew tired, but there was something important he had to do before he could sleep.
Otherwise, he would waste important time, and he couldn't afford to squander!
Entering the System, Shane searched for the Primordial online platform also called PrimWeb. It was a place where all kinds of races could post threads for their own race to read and could be accessed by foreign races as well.
Due to this, weird social interactions between all kinds of races began.
Hostile races transformed into keyboard warriors, slaying each other with words.
The races who didn't take sides found it amusing as they watched the fights from the sidelines. Humanity tried to make friends by networking and they built up a small community with races like forest elves and mountain dwarves.
When Shane got to know about these races, he was extremely astonished and he found their appearance to be exactly the same as described on Igra.
Forest elves took care of nature and didn´t hunt beasts wildly.
They were a beautiful race with their pointy ears being the most prominent feature.
And like in fairy tales, their talent towards mana was superior to humans.
Most of them were born with an inborn basic plant, wood, or even nature affinity, while their lifespan was extremely long.
They were inherent alchemists and gained a huge fortune by selling potions in their shops within PrimWeb.
Dwarves were also roughly the same as described in fairy tales from earth.
Almost all of them are bulky and short, mostly working as blacksmiths, which was their forte. They had a long lifespan and were also born with an extremely good mana aptitude.
Most dwarves were born with earth affinities, with some rarer mutations having a metal affinity, while others had a mud affinity, fire, and even magma affinity.
But, most natural-born dwarves with high affinities were seen as prodigies and were carefully nurtured.
They could rarely be found interacting with other races on PrimWeb, and as such, they remained a legend.
Shane was way too distracted while looking through the PrimWeb forum threads..
As such, he decided to enter a particular section within PrimWeb, which had the purpose to purchase and sell items through shops.

She’s content to keep her head down while working for the Mercenary Guild, but a new contract arrives that threatens to drag her back to a past she wants nothing to do with. Haunted by her own thoughts and a crow that never seems to shut up, Fena is caught between confronting her past and preventing it from ever happening again. Indigo is alone. Her adopted mother is gone, and the witch that never gets her pronouns right is currently the most popular researcher at the Royal Academy. With the expectations of her entire sect weighing on her like a lead weight, will Indigo sink or swim? Can she stop the White Witch’s project before it’s too late? Or will the twisted politics of the Royal Academy prove too much? This is my first published story, so hopefully it goes well!
