Lucan sat up from his bed in the castle. He habitually turned to the side, but Silent wasn't there. She was back in Destol right now. He knew he wouldn't get a chance to see her today. There were too many things keeping her busy.
And tomorrow, they were going to be married.
Lucan was feeling more and more nervous. Not for any logically reason. He knew that Silent loved him and they were already married in real life. Others may think he has nothing to be nervous about, but he felt different.
Ever since that day he was thrown into the Depths of Despair and then found the ethereal essence, his whole life had been moving in a strange direction. It wasn't strange as in bad. But strange in a way that things were moving so fast as taking odd turns.
If he had to sum it up, it was almost like ever since that day, he was a main character in one of those cheesey web novels.
And that was the reason he was nervous about his wedding. In those books, a wedding always turned into a bug dramatic event where things went wrong and drama and chaos followed.
He wished that everything would go smoothly and he hoped he wouldn't have to deal with any of that nonsense.
After putting on his armor, Lucan went to meet up with Super. The warlock didn't have many friends, which was why Super was somewhat expecting what Lucan asked of him last week. But nevertheless, Super was still incredibly excited to be asked to be Lucan's best man at his wedding.
And now, apparently, Super had done something and wanted to show Lucan.
Arriving at the mountain fortress, Lucan found Super in the command room. When Super spotted Lucan he rushed over.
"Hey, hey, it is almost the big day. Are you all ready?" Super asked.
"Almost everything is in place, I just have a few odds and ends to wrap up."
"Good, good. Well I have been wracking my brain to think of a good wedding gift for you. A couple days ago, I finally figured out. And I think you will appreciate having one less thing to worry about.". Super said with a smile.

"What is it?" Lucan asked, intrigued.
*Clap* *Clap*
Super clapped his hands and two shadow elf guards brought out a many who was bound in chains with a bag over his head.
"This is..."
"One less thing to worry about." Super said as the man was set down in front of him.
Super reached and pulled the bag of the man's head. A set of small eyes darted around the room but a gag stopped the man from saying anything.
Lucan thought he looked a bit familiar but a name didn't come to mind.
Super could see Lucan struggling to identify the man so he didn't hold back anymore.
"This is Gildo Robbins. That devil Gilbuzz asked you to track him down and send him back to the nine hells."
After hearing Super's words, understanding flashed across Lucan's eyes. This really was a great gift, it was one less thing he had to concern himself with.
After hearing Super's words, dread flashed across the man's face. But the chains that bound him sealed his abilities and prevented him from escaping. Before he could protest, a large green portal opened behind him and he was pushed trough. He quickly looked around to try and understand what was happening.
The portal closed and the man found himself back in the nine hells.
Lucan wasn't responsible for transporting him to Gilbuzz, he was only required to send the man to the devil's plane. That was enough to conclude the deal. And that was what he did.
Lucan gave Super a thumbs up, once he received a notification that the pact had been successfully carried out.
"What is next? What else do you have to do today?" Super asked.
"The shadow tunnel is the most pressing." Lucan answered.
Super nodded. He understood that Lucan did not want people wandering around the underground searching for the dwarven citadel. It was better to lead them straight to it.
The pair set an entrance in Shadowsweep, near the teleporter before they headed under the growing city. It took almost an hour to reach the citidale.
The citadel was now full excavated and operational. The only thing that held it back from being completed was it's lack of furnishings and residents.
Furnishings could easily be bought but after the grand forge was completed the dwarves insisted that anything that needed to be forged in the citidale should be created in the grand forge. They didn't want to ship in inferior products.

The dwarves who were previously excavating were now working over time in the forge. The palace and almost a third of the builds in the citadel's city had been furnished but it would take some time to fill the remaining buildings.
Lucan and Super entered the grand entrance hall. Lucan would have preferred putting the exit to the tunnel closer to the palace instead of the opposite end of the city, but that wasn't possible.
Once the citadel had been fully excavated, the natural formation surrounding it had been activated. Teleportation in and out wasn't possible in the city. The only place that was capable of receiving guest was the grand hall right inside the entrance. And even then, Lucan only planned on having the shadow tunnel stationed their temporarily. He didn't want anyone to be able to bypass the places first line of defense. But things were different for the wedding. It would be a major pain in the rear if every guest coming to the wedding had to be personally escorted through the hour long journey to the citadel.
Instead they planned to increase security in the entrance hall and then the guests would be able to make their way across the city to the palace.
With the shadow tunnel now completed, it was one less worry for Lucan. Since the distance wasn't far. He and Super enhanced the tunnel a few times in order to shorten the distance. It didn't take long for the tunnel to shorted to a five minute walk, which they both agreed, was good enough.
Back in Shadowsweep, Lucan and Super entered the teleporter and transfer the the Dragon Spine Hills fortress. There was now a teleporter in New Avalon, but Lucan went to the fortress instead.
He made his rounds and talked the shoulders that were stationed in the fortress. Apparently, everything in New Avalon was still going well.
After checking the fortress, Lucan and Super, jumped on the warlock's magic carpet and head too the city in the distance.
Landing in the central square, the two headed towards a new building that was just off of main street. Actually, all the buildings were new, but this one had only been completed three days ago.
Walking inside, a middle aged man greet the two.
"Just in time." The man said while motioning them towards two dressing rooms.
Inside, the tailor had their suits hanging, waiting for them to change into them.
This was a shop set up by the tailor who had made Lucan's suits in real life. He was also I charge of what Lucan and Super were going to wear to the wedding.
Coming out of the dressing room, the both looked each other over before nodded. Everything looks good. Infact it was better than what the tailor had originally described to them.
"Good. Good." The tailor said. "It looks like those finally alterations put the finishing touches on your suits."
Lucan nodded. "Indeed. I am very happy with final results. What do I owe you?" He asked.
"No charge. No charge." The tailor said.
"Come on, that can't be. You worked hard on these." Super said.
"No, it is fine. But if you ever need a suit in real life, please come back and seek me out. I will make sure to do right by you."
"Of course." Lucan said while checking himself out in the mirror again. "It is the least I can do. Oh and you are coming to my wedding tomorrow, right?"
The tailor nodded happily. "You bet. I already put a notice on the front door to tell everyone that I will be closed tomorrow." He said with a grin. "You can count the suits as a wedding present."
Lucan smiled. "Thank you. I appreciate it."
Both Lucan and Super returned to the dressing room and changed back to their normal clothes. Then carefully stored away their suits for tomorrow. They chatted with the tailor for a few more minutes before heading off to the next stop. There were just a few odds and ends left to check off the list before everything would be ready.
