《Evolution: A Warlock’s Rise To Power》Evolution: A Warlock's Rise To Power

Lucan and Super hopped to their feet. Lucan was thankful he hadn't dismissed his plan B that Little Brown had been building up.
The two began to quickly search the cavern but they didn't see any other rooms or enemies.
"Where is it? Where is it?' Lucan mumbled to himself while searching the floor for any hidden trap doors.
"Check that cell." Said a dryad prisoner, pointing to a cell without any prisoners in it.
Lucan ran over towards it and found a door n the back off the prison cell.
"Over here." Lucan shouted to Super.
He then tried to use ethereal step to pass through the bars but was rejected.
"Shit, look for a key." Lucan said.
He didn't find it to surprising that he could use the ethereal realm to circumvent the cell. It would be a shitty prison if people could just teleport out.
Lucan and Super began to quickly search the dead guards.
"Ah, found it." Super said holding up a key.
He threw it to Lucan who then stuffed it into the cells locked and turned it over. The prison cell opened up and they rushed towards the door at the back, but found it needed a key too. Fortunately, the same key opened both locks.
Super grabbed Lucan's shoulder. "Let me go first. You have already used your soulstone."
Lucan nodded and let Super open the door while pulled the phantoms from the hallway that he had used Little Brown to create earlier.
Super opened the door to find a short tunnel. At the far end stood a mana crystal the size of a table that was covered with finely carved runes.
An insectoid demon stood behind the crystal guarding what appeared to be a portal. Activating his ethereal sight, Lucan could see that it led to the Abyss. The creature was covered in a pale green exoskeleton. With his four arms he drew four swords.

The pair was convinced that this was the final boss. Or at least they hoped that was the case. It made sense since he was a named creature, and it was likely that the demon emperor was only triggered by the arm of the demon prince. During a normal run, players probably wouldn't fight the trapped demon.
Super rushed forward, not wasting time, with both of his scimitars drawn. General Mantigar crouched with his knees bending backwards and sprang forward. Two of his blades blocked Supers attacks while another two truck at his chest. The blow sent Super tumbling backwards out of the room.
Lucan backed up. He would much rather fight the boss in the large room compared to the narrow hallway.
Super jumped to his feet while Lucan threw shadow bolts towards the boss.
They were both relieved to see that although the boss had a lot of health. Its health points weren't as much as the demon emperor.
Super rushed in again but the boss was ready and activated his special attack. All four of his wrist began to rotate so that his swords started to spin like helicopter blades.
As super struck down, both of his scimitars were rocked hard. He used each one to block two blades but the repeated attacks from the boss began to chip through his swords.
*Shatter* *Shatter*
Then an unfortunate reality struck. Both of Super's scimitars were cut through. The blades were severed from the handle.
*Pierce* *Pierce*
Two swords impaled super's stomach as he was lifted off the ground. His health was falling fast, and no matter how many spells Lucan threw the boss kept his attention on Super.
"It was a foolish attempt to take on this GENERAL, a truly GRIEVOUS mistake." The boss said while holding Super closer to the mandibles on his face, about to take a bite.

Super wheezed and struggle to speak. "Call… Me…. Kenobi."
Super gripped his hilts as two shadow blades instantly sprouted from the handles. He the plunged the sabers into the boss's chest before he turned gray and disappeared.
All though Super died, he went out with a dopey smile on his face. At least he was having fun.
After getting struck in the chest the boss coughed several times before he stood straight up and looked towards Lucan. "At least that Kenobi was an honorable warrior. You should follow his lead and embrace your death."
"If you can find me, I will."
*Bang*
Lucan used his flash bang spell, blinding the boss for a moment.
When the boss opened his eyes again, the room was filled with over a hundred copies of Lucan.
General Mantigar slashed out at the closest one but his blade went straight through while the illusion didn't react at all.
The boss slashed at another but again nothing happened. Growing angry the boss sprinted into the room, striking down at each illusion that he passed. Reaching the center, he screamed.
"Come out you coward!"
Suddenly, the previously still phantoms turned to face the boss in the center of the room. They each drew a sword simultaneously. Which caused the boss to raise his guard.
"Come at me if you have the guts. Enough with these games."
The phantoms did just that. The ran straight towards the boss while brandishing their weapons. General Mantigar raised his swords to fend off the strikes but each sword passed through his without doing any damage.
After a moment, all the phantoms were gathered around the boss.
"It's over." Said a voice from above.
The boss looked up to see Lucan standing on one of the platforms at the top of the cavern.
"What can you-."
The boss was cut off as the phantom began to detonate.
*Boom* *Boom* *Boom* *Boom* *Boom* *Boom* *Boom* *Boom* *Boom* *Boom* *Boom* (You get it, right?)
The hundred plus phantoms were phantom bombers. They gathered together and exploded at once.
Once the smoke cleared, General Mantigar only had a sliver of health left. A beam of purple energy reached out and drained the last of his energy. The boss tried to push himself up off the ground, but all his arms and legs were broken. He laid there as his body began to whither. Thirty seconds later he disintegrated into dust, leaving only a crystalized soul behind.
[Congratulations! You have cleared the dungeon and become its dungeon master.]

Sturmblitz Kunst: Becoming a Dissident for Martial Arts
"I don't care what you read in some old, dusty tome. You can spend decades chasing an outmoded cultivation method that'll probably lead to a faux-breakthrough trap from the Emperor that turns you into a walking impurity tumor, or you can give me a couple months and I'll teach you how to punch through someone's head." - Zelsys "Sevenfold Storm-conqueror" Newman, Founder of the Newman Family The world at large has just begun its recovery from the nigh-apocalyptic War of Fog. Catastrophic environmental damage and gaping power vacuums stir the cogs of history into motion in the absence of open war, eternally greased by the blood and sweat of ambition. A small duchy in the North of the country now stands at the precipice of upheaval as the burgeoning powers of the new era clash within its borders... Meanwhile, as the survivor of a now-extinct cultivator family struggles for survival in a world that cares not about his social status, the very embodiment of his escapist coping mechanisms forces him to pursue the fantasies of self-determination he had never dared act upon.

The Tower Must Fall - Combat Gardener
If you're interested in a conceptual, ground-up rewrite leave a comment and tell me what you loved about it. I've got a pretty good idea of what everyone hated so there's no need for expounding on that. Gardener? A support class? This can't be! What was all my hard work for? Forget this world. Forget the System. Even if I'm a lowly support class, I'll take on the Tower and take them all down! Since the System appeared one hundred years ago, humanity has been divided into three: combat classes, intellectual classes, and support classes. Assigned at the moment of high school graduation, one's class determines their future. Rowan wanted the most out of life. A combat class, an intellectual class, either would be fine. When he is instead assigned a support class, Gardener, he notices the System is completely rigged against support classes. Refusing to give up on his dream of realizing his future by his own terms, Rowan challenges the Tower, the seat of the System and home of the Hero-King, in hopes of bringing the entire System to its knees. Season One complete. Permanent Hiatus, Pending Rewrite. Important notes: -LitRPG fantasy -Rowan is not perfect. He's got flaws, emotions, and personal issues to work through. If you want a perfect, overpowered MC who makes the right decision every time, this is NOT the work for you. -This story opens with a negative situation and an emotional growth arc for the main character. Please don't review until chapter 30 because the arc is not complete until that chapter. (Chapters are short, that's an average RR book's chapter 10) -No harem, no rape, no isekai, no romance -Questions? Please ask!

CW: Contains mildly graphic scenes of violence/death, topics of unwanted pregnancy/abortion, scientific experimentation on sapient beings, depression/suicide, grief, and trauma. The tone of this fiction is often dark and distinctly dystopian in lighter shades of Margaret Atwood, though where there is darkness there is always hope and light. On Hiatus Until September When the School Year Begins and Mom This story takes a considerable amount of time and mental energy to complete. I thought I had enough backlog and time to post it as a serial while COVID kept my child home from school, but it turns out while I can quickly write other pieces, I cannot produce the quality I need with this one at an acceptable rate. We'll resume in September when my days are much freer. Thank you for your patience and stay tuned for a different storytelling romp more suited for a serial platform in the meantime.
