"You... are arrogant!"
Anger appeared on Asgela's face.
After all, he was one of the strongest members of Mountain City, and someone had dared to threaten to destroy Mountain City right in front of him.
This was the first time he had ever heard of such a wild claim.
"Feel free to test my strength then." Locke looked at Asgela calmly and said.
Locke was confident in his strength.
However, he had no intention of harming the imperial guards. Had he really gone all out, no one survive.
"I..." Asgela was provoked by Locke's words, but he was stopped by Accius.
Accius bowed to Locke and said, "Greetings, sir. I sincerely apologize for our mistake. I hope you are willing to overlook this matter."
Seeing Locke's unsatisfied expression, Accius continued, "In addition, regarding the cause of this matter, I will ask the city lord for an explanation. I will definitely give you a satisfactory explanation."
"Okay." Locke nodded slightly.
Accius was very easy to talk to, and better still, he had a great personality.
It was for this reason that Locke decided to agree to his proposition.
"Accius, are you going to question the city lord!?" Asgela snapped through gritted teeth.
The surrounding imperial guards, who numbered in the hundreds, turned pale when they heard those words.
Everyone knew about the city lord. He was an extremely terrifying Beastmaster.
There was once a general who questioned him, and as a result, he was killed mercilessly.
Since then, no one had dared to question the city lord.
Only someone like Asgela, who was always praising and seeking the city lord's favor, was capable of staying by the city lord's side.
"This is my own matter. What does it have to do with you?" Accius glanced at Asgela and said coldly.
"You..." Unable to retort, Asgela's expression became even uglier.
However, he was helpless against Accius.

Since both parties were generals, their authority was second only to the city lord.
At the same time, this also meant that other than the city lord, no one else could convict them.
"Both of you, please head to my residence as guests. I will definitely get to the bottom of this." Accius' expression had softened greatly, and his tone could be considered amiable.
"Okay." Locke readily agreed.
"Locke..."Hathaway had a worried expression as she tugged at the corner of his shirt.
From her point of view, Accius was employing a different method to arrest them.
Locke cast a relieved look and patted the back of her hand with his warm palm.
In the face of absolute strength, all ploys were useless. They had no need to worry about any tricks from Accius.
Feeling the sense of security that Locke brought, Hathaway nodded slightly.
This was a feeling that she had never experienced before. It allowed her to completely relax and ignore all threats.
"Let's go."
Locke said to Accius.
Accius bowed slightly and said to the guards, "What are all of you waiting for? Hurry up and eliminate the Daemons running amok within the city!"
"Yes!"
The imperial guards answered in unison.
Their loud voices were like thunderclaps.
Then, they rode on their Battle Beasts and attacked the Daemons.
"This way, please."
Accius gestured to Locke and Hathaway.
Locke ordered his dragon to fly in that direction, while Accius followed closely behind them.
"Damn it!"
Looking at the backs of the three people gradually disappearing into the distance, Asgela's eyes were filled with hatred. He gritted his teeth and roared at the sky.
The guards by his side dared not speak a single word.
"Ah!"
In the end, Asgela had no other choice but to vent his anger on the Daemons destroying the city.
With a wave of his hand, he conjured a magic array and summoned a huge fire dragon. A mere instant later, a lion-like Daemon before him had been reduced to ashes.

Nevertheless, one Daemon was insufficient to sate his hatred, and he continued to kill two, three, four...
He only stopped when the ground around him was dyed red, and the corpses of the Daemons were piled up into a mountain.
After that, he lowered his head and stood there for a long time.
The atmosphere was very intimidating. No imperial guards dared to approach him.
They were afraid that they would be turned into mincemeat by the general.
After about half an hour, Asgela finally raised his head.
His expression was very malicious. There was even a glint of madness in his eyes. It looked as if he would do something crazy soon.
However, the storm that the guards were worried about did not arrive.
Upon raising his head, a strange black fog had enveloped him.
By the time the black fog dissipated, Asgela was nowhere to be found.
No one knew where he went, and no one had dared to ask.
...
Within the city lord's manor.
In the city lord's study.
A cloud of black fog manifested, and out stepped Asgela.
The city lord was reading a book. Although he seemed to have noticed Asgela's presence, he did not raise his head. Instead, he asked indifferently, "How was it?"
Asgela kneeled on one knee and said, "This humble subject is guilty, please punish me, my lord!"
"So... The operation was a failure?"
The city lord put down the book in his hand slowly as he turned to look at Asgela with his cold eyes.
"You are aware of the punishment for failing a mission, right?"
The city lord slowly raised his hand, and lightning flashed on his fingertips.
Then, a bolt of lightning shot out from his index finger and struck Asgella.
"Argh!"
Asgella let out a painful and miserable cry.
However, the city lord showed no sympathy. Instead, he increased the output of his mana, and made Asgela suffer even more!
The city lord continued to output his mana for a long time. He only stopped once Asgela seemed to be at the end of his rope.
"What is his Battle Beast?"
The city lord asked coldly.
Asgela panted for a long time before he responding weakly, "It's a giant dragon!"
"What!?" The city lord's face was shocked, and his eyes flashed with a bright light.
"It's indeed a dragon. I saw it with my very own eyes. Even with three thousand imperial guards, there was nothing I could do against him."Asgela said with certainty.
"The heavens are helping me! Haha!" The city lord laughed out loud, and joy gradually appeared on his face.
He stood up, left his seat, and said, "I will greet him personally."
Asgela hesitated for a moment before adding, "My lord, Accius has returned."
The city lord stopped in his tracks and asked with some doubt, "Why has he returned at such a timing?"
"My lord, Accius has requested an audience with you!"
At this moment, a loud voice sounded from outside the door.
"What a coincidence."
The city lord smiled and whispered.
"Let him in."
The city lord faced the door and said in a calm and dignified tone.
"Squeak..."
The door opened and a man entered their sight.
The moment Accius entered the room, he was greeted by the sight of a weak and paralyzed Asgela.
The city lord asked, "What brings you here at this hour, Accius?"
"To seek an explanation for Locke and Hathaway." Accius' voice was sonorous and powerful.

Thomas the Brawler
Thomas doesn't remember what his last name was, before it became Bluebrim, a name belonging to another universe. He's also pretty sure he wasn't this stupid before he arrived, but what can you do, when a day that was supposed to begin with an interview to set your life back on track instead begins in a universe that makes no sense, with rules you can't begin to understand? Maybe he should have paid more attention to the avatar creation screen ... Content warnings: All of them. Seriously. Expect lots of blue screens to begin with. Don't expect a power-leveling fantasy, in which the lone hero beats up all the bad guys, and gets a harem of women. There's just a guy who treats character creation like an annoying series of pop-up advertisements, and the story is basically the ramifications of that. The main character has to learn to take the world he's found himself in seriously, and he'll learn the way most of us do, by doing it wrong first. This is, insofar as it is successful, a dark comedy fantasy. Also a bit of horror, particularly but not exclusively body horror. I'm pretty sure I've earned those Content Warning tags, so, uh, yeah. This is practice. Hopefully things improve as I go, and figure out what I'm doing wrong, but I make no guarantees things will ever get better. I've already made mistakes, I'll make more, and I'm happy to notice them each time I make them. You don't improve unless you fail. (On the plus side, it probably won't get much worse.) Feel free to point out anything you think I'm doing wrong; I don't promise to change anything, particularly if it's a matter of taste, but I am looking to improve, and figuring out what I need to improve goes faster if I don't have to try to figure it out myself. I've updated the earlier chapters for formatting, in the hope that it would make everything easier to read on mobile devices. Hopefully things work slightly better now, but please let me know if there are any issues anywhere.

"And now Sky is practically living in your house and you two are raising a baby together, but you have no interest in her whatsoever?" he asked. I nodded. "Exactly." Davis sighed and rolled his eyes before he was leaning forward with his hands pressed against the table. "This is going to get really screwy, really fast, Wyatt," Davis warned me.
