The Tale Of Three Sisters Chapter 194

Jegun sat on the trunk of the tree and addressed Ivy. "Child, there's something you need to know about you and us..." he began.
"What is it?" Ivy asked.
"By the way, call me Grandpa from now on," he said.
"Okay, Grandpa," Ivy replied. "What is it that I need to know?" she asked.
"You and your husband Maxwell was trapped inside the castle located at the top of the hill. The castle was burned down and you are the only survivor. As you can see around you, the castle already disappeared and this lake was formed out of the ashes of the castle. You survived the burning of the castle because you were saved by an old lady named Esmeralda, she put you inside the crystal coffin, which cannot be destroyed by fire or water," Jegun explained.
Ivy was listening attentively to the old man's narration.
"Your husband Maxwell is a vampire who sucks your blood...am I right?"
"Yes," Ivy nodded her head.
"Maxwell has two other brothers, namely Xenon and Lothaire? Correct?"
"Yes..." Ivy nodded again. "How did you know everything?" she asked in confusion.
"Because I was also trapped inside that castle together with the girls, but we were able to escape the castle before it was destroyed. I know a lot about your husband Maxwell," he said. "By the way...what did you remember about your life in the castle?"
Ivy pondered for a moment. "I was imprisoned in a room and my husband would visit my room to drink my blood, and then he will put me to sleep so that I won't feel any pain, and when I wake up I'm already back in my room. That's the only thing I can remember," she responded.
"I see..." Jegun said.
Ivy pointed her finger at Kate and Ella. "These girls, why they call me their sister?" she asked.
"Because they have a sister who was also trapped inside the castle that looks like you. So they have mistaken you as their long lost sister," Jegun lied.
"Ah, okay... I understand now..." Ivy said and smiled at the girls.
Kate and Ella stared at their older sister's face pitying her condition as tears glistened in their eyes.
"Don't worry, Ivy, we will try to find your husband. We won't leave this place unless we will find his remains, okay?" Jegun said, trying to put Ivy at ease.
Ivy smiled a bit. "Thank you, Grandpa, for explaining to me everything," she said and took a deep breath. Then her face turned sad. "I got to find my husband alive because I dunno what to do with my life. I have no house to go home to. I don't know anyone that I can ask for help," she said helplessly.

Kate went to her sister's side. "Don't worry, Ivy, my sister and I will bring you to the house at the top of the mountain. You can live there with us," she suggested.
Ivy looked at her. "You will allow me to live in your house?" she asked, unable to understand why a stranger will offer her a home.
Ella smiled. "Yes, we will be happy if you live with us since you have no one to take care of you," she said.
Ivy smiled, feeling grateful for their help and kindness. "Okay, thank you...If I can't find my husband, I'm willing to live with you temporary, until such time I can find my own home," she said dejectedly.
Kate rubbed her sister's back. "Don't worry, Ivy, you can live with us as long as you like. We love to have you in the house."
"You can live with us forever, Ivy!" Ella offered, sporting a bright smile on her face.
Jegun smiled and rose to his feet. "Girls, talk to each other, okay? I'll help the boys find Ivy's husband," he said and left the girls going to the location of the men in the forest.
Meanwhile, in the forest.
Ramza put the body of the banana tree in the ground. "Is this enough?" he asked Aspen.
"Yes, that's enough," Aspen responded. "I'll transform the banana into Maxwell's image, body and face," he said.
The men watched as Aspen wielded his magic.
Aspen placed his hands above the banana trunk, lights came out from his palms, bathing the banana. A few minutes later, the banana trunk was transformed into the face and body of Maxwell, his eyes closed in eternal peace.
"What if Ivy will embrace the banana trunk? She will discover that it's fake!" Ogeme said.
"We should not let Ivy come close to the corpse," Bhork said.
"Just put some maggots crawling in his skin, that would prevent Ivy from coming close to the fake corpse," suggested Simuz.
"Or you can cut half of his body, cut his limb for good measure," Dredo suggested.
"Nah, let's not mutilate the body. Ivy might have trauma after seeing it. She will have nightmares remembering her husband's dismembered body," Zemeth intervened.
The boys looked at each other, for they understood very well what Zemeth is trying to imply with his statement.
Aspen admired his handiwork. He picked up a handful of soil and sprinkled it on Maxwell's arms, neck, feet. Then lights emerged from his palm, turning the soil into maggots crawling in the skin of the corpse.

"Perfect!" Jegun said.
"Is it believable?" Aspen asked the men.
"It is...but there's only one problem..." Ogeme said.
Aspen looked at Ogeme. "What is it, bro?" he asked.
"If the maggots feasted on the corpse, it should stink, right? But I can't smell any foul odor right now," Ogeme replied.
They looked at each other.
"Unless there's one of us who will fart continuously to produce a foul odor in the air," Dredo joked.
The rest of the men guffawed in amusement.
"Who wants to volunteer to produce gas?" Zemeth asked his friends, laughing hard.
Jegun put his index finger on his mouth. "Shhhh.... don't let Ivy hear your laughter!" he reminded them, smiling in amusement.
The men laughed silently.
Aspen looked at the men. "Guys, we need to act fast. My magic will expire in one hour!" he said.
"Alright, showtime!" Jegun said. He looked at Zemeth. "Go now, lad. Informed Ivy that we already found her husband," he ordered.
Zemeth nods his head and sprinted towards Ivy's location. "Ivy...we found a corpse in the forest. Try identifying it! He can be your husband! Hurry up!" he shouted while approaching them.
The girls stood up and rushed to Zemeth's side.
"Where is the corpse!?" Ivy asked hurriedly.
"Follow me!" Zemeth said.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the scene.
Ivy's eyes widened in shock after seeing her husband's lifeless body sprawled on the ground. She was about to move closer to the corpse to hug it, but Kate prevented her by grabbing her arm.
"Ivy, don't go any closer! Maggots are crawling on your husband's dead body!" Kate shouted.
Ivy stepped back after seeing the crawling maggots. Tears rolled down from her eyes in torrents. An ear-splitting cry erupted from her mouth, permeating the air with melancholy as Ivy fell into the ground, devastated by the death of her husband.
Kate and Ella rubbed Ivy's back, trying to comfort her.
Everyone was silent while listening to Ivy's heartbreaking sobs.
A few minutes later.
Jegun cleared his throat. "Ivy, I have a suggestion. We will put your husband's dead body in the coffin and bury him here. So that we can give him a proper burial, is that okay with you?" he suggested.
Ivy looked at Jegun with tear-stained eyes for a few seconds digesting his words, she finally nodded her head in agreement. "Okay..." she replied softly.
Jegun looked at the boys. "Guys, we need the coffin here," he said.
"We will get the coffin," Bhork and Dredo volunteered.
"We will dig a hole six feet under for the burial," Simuz and Ogeme suggested in unison.
The men went their separate ways to get the coffin and dig a hole for the burial.
A few minutes later, the coffin was finally brought into the area. The men put the corpse inside the coffin and covered it with the lid.
Ivy continued sobbing hysterically while caressing the crystal coffin with her shaking hands.
Zemeth was looking at Ivy sadly.
Fifteen minutes later, Simuz ad Ogeme returned. "The grave is ready," they said.
"Wait... we will pick some flowers nearby," Kate said and left with Ella.
A few minutes later, the girls returned, holding some flowers in their hands.
"Okay, guys, let's bring the coffin to the burial ground," Jegun said.
The men carried the crystal coffin towards the freshly dug earth a few meters away.
When they arrived at the location, they immediately lowered the coffin into the grave.
The girls threw the flowers into the crystal coffin. Ivy's crying was getting louder.
The men were about to cover the coffin with the earth when Ivy stopped them.
"Please, give me a few minutes to see my husband before you will cover his coffin," Ivy begged.
Zemeth looked at Aspen.
Aspen nodded his head. "It's okay - give her a few minutes more to satisfy her heart's desire," he said.
Five minutes later.
The men began putting back the freshly dug earth into the grave, covering the entire coffin.
Ivy's crying was slowly fading away. She looked at the men around her. "Thank you, everyone, for helping me in finding my husband's corpse and for burying him properly. I owe you a lot," she said with heartfelt gratitude shining in her eyes.
Jegun smiled. "No need to thank us. We are happy to help you. Now that we finally laid your husband to rest, we shall go home now for a much-needed rest," he said.
"We will bring the girls back to the mountain," Zemeth said.
"Okay, we will go back to the island," Jegun replied.
Jegun, Simuz, Bhork, Dredo, and Ogeme teleported back to the island, while Zemeth, Ramza, Aspen, and the girls entered the neon portal opening going back to the mountain.

The Cyclical Nature of Time
A girl’s life ends unexpectedly early, or so it would seem. Instead of eternal nothingness, she wakes up in an empty valley with no clue how she got there. Taking her predicament in stride, she sets out to do something about it. Unfortunately for her, the first couple of people she meets aren’t much help. They claim they haven’t heard of electricity and dress as if they were on a break from their job at a Viking-themed amusement park. MC is a somewhat normal girl. She's pragmatic and not very angsty. The story is tagged with anti-hero, but to be clear, she is not a villain. She does good if she can, she just isn't morally motivated to do so. The story starts out smelling of fantasy but will eventually shift towards sci-fi. It contains some supernatural elements and has a strong lead, but it is not your usual power trip. Expect a story that takes its time, but not to the point where entire chapters are spent on mindless chit-chat. I’m not into that. This is my first serious attempt at writing and I've learnt a lot writing this. Unfortunately, that shows. Chapter 1-10 is slow and rather pointless. Things get better, but it is not until chapter 25 or so that I began understanding how to structure chapters and to make them support the larger story. I publish about 3000 words a week (every sunday) but I write about 10000 words a week. Sticking to that pace, which is easy, the last chapter will be out by July.
