The Tale Of Three Sisters Chapter 137

The portal opened up at the top of the mountain, in the middle of the fruit garden.
Kate addressed her companion. "Just wait here for a moment, guys..."
She rushed towards the entrance of the house calling the granny's name. "Granny Vearah! Granny Esmeralda... I'm back!" she shouted the moment she stepped inside the house.
The women rushed outside their rooms and saw Kate near the door.
"What is going on?" Vearah asked.
Esmeralda was frowning. "Calm down, Kate. Why are you back suddenly? Did something bad happened?" she asked.
"Yes!" replied Kate out of breath. She went to Immortal's side. "Granny Vearah, please help our friend, Zemeth! He was wounded after they escaped from the castle, he was one of the men who help rescue my sisters from the castle!" she pleaded.
"Okay, calm down, let me see the injured guy," Vearah said calmly.
"They are waiting in the fruit garden for permission to enter. I'll go and get them," Kate said and rushed outside the house.
She ran to the fruit garden. "Guys, it's okay now to bring Zemeth inside the house," she told them.
They hurriedly entered the house.
Esmeralda gasped when she saw the blackened feet of the injured man.
The moment Vearah saw Zemeth's blackened feet she knew he was poison and needed immediate attention. "Bring him to the healing room. Follow me!" she told Ramza and lead thew ay towards the healing room.
Vearah opened the door of the healing room. "Put your friend in the table," she ordered Ramza calmly.
Ramza did as he was told and put his friend's unconscious body on the marble table gently.
Vearah lighted all the candles inside the room and took a white cloth from the cupboard and two bottles of herbal ointment, she handed them to Ramza with instructions. "Removed his dirty clothes and put these clean clothes on his body. Then after you finished changing his clothes, rubbed one bottle of ointment on his foot, one foot per bottle. Rubbed a generous portion especially on the blackened area. After you are done rubbing the oil, you can leave the room. I'll wait outside," she said and left.
Ramza began discarding Zemeth's dirty clothes and replaced them with clean clothes. Then he opened the bottle of herbal ointment oil and began rubbing a generous portion on the right foot where the area was already blackened. A few minutes later, done with the first foot, he repeated the same process on the left foot.
A few minutes later, Ramza was done as per Immortal's Vearah's instruction. He then left the room.
Vearah waited for Ramza to exit the room and she returned inside.
Once inside the healing room. She opened another cupboard and took another bottle. She opened the bottle and dropped five pieces of the brown tablet-like object into her palm. It was an anti-poison tablet she especially concocted using different kinds of herbal healing plants found at the foot of the mountain. She closed the cover of the bottle and put it back inside the cupboard.

She went to Zemeth's side and opened his mouth with her free hand, then drop one brown tablet inside his mouth and so on, with a few minutes interval between tablet.
She checked his breathing and his pulse, it was steady.
She stayed inside the room for three hours straight, waiting for any signs that his body was rejecting the anti-poison tablet that she popped in his mouth.
Three hours later, she took another herbal ointment bottle from the cupboard and began rubbing them on Zemeth's feet.
Done...
She exited the healing room. Everyone was waiting outside the room, waiting for her verdict.
"How is my friend, Immortal Vearah?" asked Zemeth apprehensively.
Vearah smiled. "Good news, his body did not reject the anti-poison tablet that I popped in his mouth. I will continue giving him the tablet in the next five days until the poison in his body is gone," she said.
"Thank you, Immortal!" Jegun, Kate, and Ramza said in unison, feeling grateful for her willingness to help a stranger.
"Don't mention it. I'll go to my room to rest for a while," Vearah said. Her eyes sweep the visitors' faces and smiled. "Guys, welcome to my home. Please feel at home. I'll have a chat with you guys after I wake up later. For now, I'll leave you to Esmeralda's care," she said and left the group, going to her room.
"Rest well Granny Vearah," Kate said at her retreating back.
She saw that Esmeralda and Jegun were already taking seriously in the other corner. She looked for Aspen around, she can't find him. Where is he? She went to Esmeralda's side. "Granny, excuse me, where is Aspen? I can't find him..."
"He went to the human world, he got bored here, so he left," Esmeralda answered and returned her attention to Jegun.
"Ah, okay," Kate said and went to Ramza's side, she lowered herself on the chair beside him. "Are you okay?" she asked looking at the worried expression on his face.
"I'm very much worried about my friend," Ramza answered.
"I know," Kate said and rubbed his back gently to lighten his heavy load. "I have high hopes with Immortal Vearah's healing capabilities. The healing room restores Granny Esmeralda's failing body to good health. I believed that Zemeth will also benefit from the room's miraculous healing power," she assured him.
"I hope so," Ramza murmured.
Kate stood up. "Come with me to the fruit garden. We can talk there and enjoy the colorful and refreshing scenery while eating fruits," she suggested.
"I can't...what if Zemeth will suddenly awaken? No one can come to his aid because nobody is around," he said. He looked into her eyes. "Please, understand my situation this time my love," he begged for her understanding because he doesn't want her to get upset that he was not spending quality time with her when they just have been reunited after a long time of separation.

Kate pouted. She just wanted to spend some time with her boyfriend 'coz she missed his wonderful company so much, why it's hard to do that right now? But she doesn't want to be accused as a nagging girlfriend, she wants him to think that she is a considerate lover. She kept her mouth shut and stay quiet by his side.
Zemeth smiled and planted a quick kiss on her forehead. "Thank you for your understanding, my love," he said and pinched her nose.
Kate smiled.
"Hmm, why don't you go to the fruit garden and bring me some fruits? Then you can also give some to Grandpa Jegun..." he suggested so that she has something to do with her free time.
Kate's face brightened up, picking up fruits is something that she always enjoyed doing. "Alright, I'm going there now..." she said going in the direction of the door and picked an empty basket. She proceeds to the fruit garden.
When she arrived there, the place is quiet, the only sound she can hear was the chirping of the birds bouncing from branches to branches, the little birdies were picking on some overripe fruits. She ignored their cuteness and began picking up fruits and putting them in the basket.
She reached the dead-end where the Avocados, Bananas, and the dwarf Cherry trees were located. Then she noticed something...she saw a sack in the trunk of the avocado tree. When she inspected its contents, it was filled with avocados and bananas. Huh? What's going on? Who put the fruits inside the sack? Hmm...somebody is going to steal these fruits? Who could it be?
She roamed her eyes around the area, she can't find the culprit.
What she didn't know... the thief was up in the branches of the avocado holding his breath so as not to be seen.
Then one overripe avocado was about to fall from the branches... and it's going to hit Kate directly on the head. Aspen freezes the avocado instantly before it reaches Kate's head.
That was also the time that Kate looked upward and saw Aspen sitting on the branches of the tree. He smiled at her and hovered down until his feet touched the ground.
"You're the thief!?" she asked in disbelief.
Aspen sighed. "Yup, that's me! I put all the Avocado and Bananas inside that sack because I'm going to give them to someone in the human world," he said, grinning mischievously.
Kate's brows furrowed. "W-who?"
"As you can see...I left the mountain and explored the human world. During my travel, I saw this pretty girl, the same age as you. She was selling fruits in the market. She was wearing dirty tattered clothing and living in a crumbling house together with an old woman and five more orphaned children..."
Kate was getting interested in his story. Wow, Aspen finally noticed a pretty girl! That's news to her. "Continue..." she encourages him.
"Upon further investigation, I have known that the old woman gathered those orphaned children and take care of them. This girl was the oldest of them all. I was touched by the girl's sad flight. She buys and sells fruits in the market. Unfortunately, the man who sells fruit to her charged her too much, she sells her fruits to the market for just pennies, enough to bring some foods to the old woman and other orphan children."
Kate was smiling. "Then...?"
Aspen has that dreamy look on his face. "I was deeply touched by her kindness, by her sacrifice and love for the old woman and the orphans. So... I decided to help her by giving her this one sack of fruit for free to sell in the market. I think Immortal Vearah won't get angry because I'm going to do it to help the less fortunate," he explained.
Kate rolled her eyes.
Aspen smiled at her. "Kate, don't tell Vearah about it, okay? Let's keep this a secret between us, promise me!"
Kate smiled. "I understand your willingness to help a poor girl, but you have to understand that Immortal Vearah grows these fruits here to produce fruits all year round. You should at least inform the owner that you are going to harvest her fruits and give them to the poor girl out of the goodness of your heart because that is the right thing to do!" she scolded him.
"Yeah...yeah...yeah...don't worry...I will inform her next time on my next visit," he said feeling guilty and picked up the sack, ready to go.
"Where are you going?" Kate asked him.
"Back to the human world to give these fruits to the poor girl," he responded. He was about to open the portal with his belt when Kate interrupted him. "Wait... I think my golden fruit can help them better financially more than that fruits you are carrying on your shoulder," Kate offered and placed the golden fruit in his palm.
Aspen looked at the golden fruit in his hand. "What I'm going to do with it?" he asked raising a brow, although he already had an idea what she's trying to tell him.

Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.
