Lunchtime came.

The sisters' eyes sparkled after the bird delivered another parcel in the ground, and it flew right away after it completed the task.

Kate smiled. "It looks like Maxwell is acting like a lover to you," she teased her sister.

Ivy's brows furrowed. "Eh? What makes you think that way?"

Kate pointed at the bundle on the ground. "That bundle over there is a piece of evidence that Maxwell thinks highly of you. That bird never fails to bring you food three times a day. This means he is concern about your well-being, and he is very much affectionate towards you," she noticed.

Ivy smiled in amusement by her sister's teasing remarks. "My dear sister, before you think of nonsense in your silly head, you have to understand that Maxwell also planted a deadly poison in my body. Which means, for him, I can be eliminated anytime," she reminded her.

Kate rolled her eyes. "Whatever! I should get that bundle now, or else the germs will start feasting on our food!" she exclaimed and dashed towards the bundle.

Ivy smiled at her sister's quirkiness.

"OMG! I smell roasted chicken! This is awesome!" Kate exclaimed and sprinted towards the house.

Ivy was shaking her head in merriment. She followed her sister inside the house.

Kate was busy putting the dishes on the plate made of clay. Her eyes widened in pleasure while gazing and salivating at the roasted chicken as its mouthwatering aroma permeated the entire room.

"Wow, tasty looking roasted chicken!" she commented and looked appreciatively at the dish. "Let's eat now, sis!" she said. She snatched the chicken thigh and sunk her teeth on its savory texture. "Hmm, delicious! I never know that the greatest cook is living just outside the castle," she murmured.

Ivy watched her sister devoured the chicken thighs with a huge appetite, loving the way how Kate licked her fingers bite after bite.

After putting rice and chicken meat on her plate, she began eating as well.

Ivy was in the middle of devouring the chicken wings when she noticed that her sister already stopped eating and was staring at the roasted chicken as if she was in a trance.

She poked her with her feet below the table. "Hey, sis! What are you thinking? Why did you stop eating? There's still plenty of roasted chicken to finish," she said.

Kate smiled bitterly. "This roasted chicken reminds me so well of him!" she said sadly, her expression softens considerably.

Ivy's brows snapped together. "Huh? Who is he? Who is this guy you are talking about?" she inquired.

"He is my boyfriend. He is the driver of the wagon, which is my transportation in coming here," Kate stated casually.

Ivy's eyes bulged. "What-? Do you already have a boyfriend? How is this possible?"

Kate smiled bitterly. "We have a love affair that only lasted for a few days. Does it count? Then we kissed and sleeps together, but there was no sex between us, just kissing and cuddling," she confessed.

Ivy gasped and grimaced in shock. "Oh my goodness!" she uttered a short reply.

Then Kate continues eating the roasted chicken. All of a sudden her head was flooded with the sweet memories she shared with Ramza. She smiled like a love-struck woman. "I miss Ramza so much!" she gushes, her eyes displayed a radiant glow similar to that of a woman in love for the first time.

Ivy was shaking her head in astonishment while continue munching on the savory chicken meat. She watched her sister's face flashing with a strange expression. She finds it odd!

She can't believe that her younger sister has fallen in love with the opposite sex, without her knowledge!

After a while, she can no longer hold her tongue. "Forget that guy! He was a stranger to you. Your relationship with that guy can not be categorized as a proper one since it only lasted for a few days. It was just like a whirlwind romance!"

"So, how do you call our love affair...then?" asked Kate.

"I'll label it as a fling. Nothing serious!" Ivy dismissed her sister's first love as nothing serious.

"No, you're wrong, sis! Ramza is my first love, and we're both serious in our relationship!" Kate argued vehemently.

Ivy erupted into peals of laughter while looking at her sister's face. "My goodness, you are such a hopeless romantic, silly girl!" She makes fun of her sister for falling in love with a stranger in such a short time.

Kate pouted. "You just say that because you haven't fallen in love with a guy before!" she rolled her eyes.

Which makes Ivy laughs harder. She doubled over in amusement. Her stomach was hurting due to so much laughter. She never had this kind of laughter for a long time.

Kate continues popping the bits and pieces of the delicious roasted chicken in her mouth while ignoring her sister's raucous laughter. She felt insulted a bit, but she had already forgiven her sister because she hasn't experienced falling in love with a guy yet.

After a few minutes of continuous laughter, Ivy slowed down a bit, yet the remnants of her laughter still plastered all over her face. "It's time to interrogate her sister. "So...how does it feel when you fall in love with someone?"

Kate smiled sweetly as her eyes sparkled like diamonds in the sky. "Falling in love is a beautiful and amazing feeling in the world! It was such a splendid emotion and feels heavenly. Ramza and I were like floating on cloud nine every time we kissed!"

Ivy's eyes bulged, she was about to laugh again, but Kate glared at her.

"Stop laughing! You dared to ask me how's the feeling when you're in love with someone, and yet you ridicule my answer. I won't say a word of this topic anymore!" Kate scolded her sister.

Ivy pressed her lips together to prevent herself from erupting in another bout of laughter. She finds her sister's statement and reaction so entertaining and hilarious.

True to her words, Kate no longer talks about her ill-fitted love affair with Ramza. She decided that from now on, she will just continue nurturing Ramza's memory in her mind. She was hoping that someday, they will meet again and continue their love affair. It's just wishful thinking on her part.

The sisters continue eating until the roasted chicken was reduced to bones.

"That was an amazing meal!" Kate roared while rubbing her tummy.

Ivy agreed. The human slave outside the castle is a superb cook. "Awesome dish as always, it's a finger-licking roasted chicken. It tasted better all the time," she testified. "You still refuse to come with me to the vampire's lair? If you come with me, you will always be pampered with delicious dishes of different variants every day, such as that," she said while pointing at the chicken bones in the plate to emphasize her statement.

Kate shook her head vigorously. "No way! My decision is still the same. I will stay here," she declared.

"Okay, as you say so," said Ivy. She has no more energy left to discuss that sensitive topic. "Let's clean up now. Granny might return anytime. We don't want her to wait..."

"Alright!" Kate responded energetically.

The sisters began cleaning the table and disposing of the trash properly.

After they finished cleaning their mess, they went out of the house and lay idle in the wooden bench located under the shade of the tree, waiting for Esmeralda.

"How're the pigs doing?" the tree spoke out of the blue.

Ivy and Kate looked at each other in astonishment.

"Who are the pigs you are talking to?" Kate asked, rolling her eyes.

"Who else?" the tree replied sarcastically.

"Us?" Ivy said.

"Yes, of course! Girls, I can still smell the roasted chicken in your breath! That's why you are pigs!" the tree spoke.

The sisters looked at each other in amazement as they erupted into peals of laughter, finding the tree's remarks hilarious.

"Stopped laughing, you silly pigs! Keep your mouth shut 'coz I'm going to take my afternoon nap," the tree scolded them.

The sisters looked at each other again and rolled their eyes.

"Yes, your highness, we will shut our mouth so that you can enjoy your afternoon nap in peace," Kate answered in a mocking tone.

"Good!" the tree answered.

Kate eyed the tree and shook her head. "The tree is moody today," she whispered in her sister's ear.

Ivy shrugged and put a finger in her lips to silence her sister.

"I can hear you pig!" the tree spoke all of a sudden.

"Alright, we're leaving now, sorry that we disturb your sleep!" Kate retorted with a smile.

The women stood up and strolled towards the house.

They were about to enter the house when they were alerted to the sound of something landing in the front yard. When they turned around, they saw the silver box on the ground, and Esmeralda was inside it.

"Girls, let's go!" Esmeralda shouted at them.

The sisters smiled broadly and sprinted towards the silver box, rushing inside.

"Ready girls?" Esmeralda asked them.

"Yes, we're ready!" the sisters replied in unison, erupting into girly giggles.

Esmeralda watched as excitement was flashing in their faces like a light bulb.

The silver box finally takes off from the ground, hovering in the sky, going to the west side of the horizon.

The girls can't contain their excitement.

After a few minutes of traveling over mountains, lakes, and towering trees, the silver box finally landed in a clearing in the middle of nowhere.

The box opened up, and the girls rushed outside. They stared at the spectacular scenery in front of them.

There below the trees is a stunning waterfall falling from the mountain, about fifteen feet tall, and created a stream of abundant clear water sparkling under the sun, which is a great place for bathing. The waterfall was surrounded by colorful flowers in full bloom.

"Wow! This place is amazing! This place looks like a paradise on earth!" Kate exclaimed in awe.

The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful. Butterflies in a multitude of colors were flying everywhere. Some were attaching themselves to the flowers.

Ivy was speechless, 'coz she was mesmerized by the enchanted waterfall, she was truly fascinated by it.

Kate turned around to look at Esmeralda. A sense of gratitude was shining in her eyes. "It's so beautiful, Granny! Thank you so much for bringing us here!" she gushes.

Ivy glanced at Esmeralda. "Granny, can we take a dip in the stream? I like to take a swim!" she inquired with a smile.

Esmeralda grinned. "By all means, go ahead, girls. Swim to your heart's desire," she said, giving them her permission.

The sisters raced into the water and made a big splash.

A few minutes later.

The stream was filled with the girls' laughter.

Esmeralda watched the sisters with amusement in her eyes. She folded her hands at her back. Suddenly a knife materialized in her hands. Her eyes gleamed with malicious intent.

She's waiting for the time that the girls will feel tired after swimming, that's the time to strike!

"Granny! Come here! Please join us! The water is cool and invigorating!" Kate shouted in glee.

Esmeralda smiled. "Okay, I'll join you, girls!" she said and marched towards the stream. She waded into the water and joined the girls, intending to have fun under the sun.
